Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!!
Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving when all through the kitchen
Not a creature was stirring not even a kitten
The cornucopia was placed on the table with care
In preparation for the feast we all soon will share
The family was nestled all snug in their beds
while visions of turkey and football danced in their heads......
Sorry don't want to spoil your mood, but I am sad right now and need to rant a little.
Yesterday we (=family) recieved a official letter from our landlady (house owner). She informed us that she will be vacating our flat to march 2012 the latest. Our house will be teared down sometime around July or August 2012! We lived there since 18 years and it's a big shock to us.
It won't be easy to rent a new flat, because we live in a region with high rents and I am not sure my parents will be able to pay such high rents. If they move away, my mother will be forced to quit her job and search a new one, which doesn't make it any easier.
Now my sister and I have look if we find an affordable flat for ourself, because then my parents can choose a smaller flat which will be cheaper. Could you please pray for us? That would be soooo nice!
I just wanted to post this, it is from one of the local news stations, they interviewed my aunt about losing her home from the tornado, the video doesn't seem to be working for me but the picture above the article is of her house seconds before the tornado destroyed it, that is the tornado behind her house. Her neighbor risked his life to get the picture, he doesn't remember if he was in the house or out of the house when he took it.

You crack me up!And with this post, Seawaters is poster #26,000. She only wins notoriety, nothing else!!!
Good to hear from you! I hope you continue great health!Hi All!
Sorry I've been MIA for the past couple of days.
So far my time down here has been great. Monday was my sister's birthday and we had a nice celebration that evening. My uncle and two cousins (who I hadn't seen since--literally--last Christmas) came and it was like "OMG!! You're officially taller than me!" Harry is 14 and into his games on his ipod but Madeline (who is 13) really surprised me. She was miss chatterbox! We talked about books and schools and BOYS! :yahoo:
Today was my check up at Tampa General. I had to get there mega early and got all kinds of tests done. How'd I (and my heart and lungs, of course) do? FANTASTIC!
my o2 stats are STILL at 100% (pre-transplant it would be in the upper 70s/low 80s at best......upper 50s at worst).
My lung function is STILL at a steady 82%
My blood level results looked sooo good thaaat....my doctor decided to LOWER the dosage on TWO of my anti-rejection drugs (Prograf and Rapamune). I'm still in shock over that one!!
I just need to come back next year! WOO HOO!
Tomorrow I have to go to the pharmacy to get my new meds and help Mom with the Thanksgiving shopping.
P.S. The guy who I wanted to win DWTS DID! YAY!!!!!!!!!
Let's bring all of MMC there! I soooo want to go there for breakfast! =)See everyone in the morning....wish I could go to Brad's store for some breakfast!
Nothing like a nervous turkey!I just gobbled !! Oh my.......I was so nervous !!
I know my oven is working overtime!Thanksgiving tomorrorw . you lucky things. Bet the ovens will be on all day with baking and cooking lol
Is there a reward???????? cheesyJust saw jayish' pic on the side of amilk carton!
YABBA!
Wayne and I have looked into buying one. Buying the coffee machine itself is not a problem but looking into the prices of coffee will cost a fortune per month. It's a fortune to us anyway. Right now we probably spend about 20 bucks per month for coffee. With Keurig we figured it would be nearly 70 bucks per month for just us 2! I expect to pay a little more but not that much more. I have only looked at the department store prices of coffee, is there a more economical way of buying it?I am sitting here on MMC...already have made a cup of coffee in my Keurig, and I have a Christmas movie on the Hallmark channel.
just finished my thanksgiving baking. Thought i'd share a pie with you.
Sorry don't want to spoil your mood, but I am sad right now and need to rant a little.
It's the most wonderful time of the year....
Just got back from Walmart to pick up a few things for Thanksgiving. They had Christmas music playing nice and loud. All the customers seem to be in a good mood and talkative more than I ever seen there before and I have been going there for years. I think the music brings out the best in people. =)
I just rushed through these post. I have a lot more to do today so sorry if I missed anyone.
Take care and have a great day!
I'm pooped out and ready for a cup of tea (or hot cocoa!) and a little rest.
hey guys,
i'm back from chicago and i'm totally in love with the place. those midwestern manners were impeccable, the food was great (i've gained about 28lbs in 5 days!!!) the city and the building were breathtaking and it was so child friendly. i just love america and my ambition is to travel some of the bigger cities, i also want to travel canada too. next on my list is boston, seattle, san francisco, new york (been to manhattan and wasn't overly impressed but would like to give it another try) and alaska. a girl can dream!!!
OK, as a native NY-er, I will tell you this, do not go to the normal tourist spots!!! The city is so much better when you go to places you think wouldn't be "safe" or good!!! Go to the Appollo Theater in NYC (yes in Harlem- not joking) it is safe most people do not realize just how big Harlem is, it is HUGE area... Amazing restaurants line the streets... Another section is upper Bronx, or Bronxville!!! It is beautiful... Anthor spot is way downtown by the piers, day time is perfect. Also, "Irish-town" in Queens, talk about amazing... I also think people tend to go to the larger museums but did you know all total in the area there are over 3,500 of them!!! No joke... So many do not advertise and yet never to know that they even exist seems odd to me, but all in all, I agree the city is crazy every time of the year... Next time you want to go let me know I will not steer you wrong... I will tell you the best little "unknown" spots that once you past the bustle of the city it eases up and it is very pleasant!!!
some really sad news now... i got a phone call yesterday just as i was about to travel home... my cousin was found dead in bed on wednesday. he was only 41 and has left behind 4 beautiful sons. we are a very close family and as you can imagine we are all devasted. in less than 12 month i have lost my precious grandmother, my precious auntie and now my precious cousin. he has had ill health for a while but it's still a massive shock. please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers, we can't take much more of this truly terrible year. besides all this i still plan on making christmas 2011 the best yet, i'm going to make it the perfect ending to a devastating year and hopefully 2012 will be a great year for my family and i.
About your trip to America. I'm glad you liked it. We just went to New York last month to visit the 911 Memorial. That was beautiful but Lower Manhattan was a bit chaotic! We also went to Central Park to see John Lennon's Imagine Memorial. That was nice. I said I wasn't sure what I thought about New York but I am like you and want to give it another try and see other sections of it. I loved some of it and some of it was a little too crowded for my liking. I am really glad I went though! I'm sure I would LOVE it at Christmas time!
We went to Chicago last summer and really enjoyed it. Busy city but wasn't too chaotic.
I really Really REALLY want to go to Alaska! I want to go on an Alaskan Cruise. We just went on a Caribbean Cruise last month and told my hubby Alaska is next! We will see, it does cost more than the Caribbean one so not sure about going anytime soon.
My other dream is to take a train trip through Canada!
Keep dreaming! Nothing wrong with that and eventually you will see all the places you dreamed of!
We ended selling almost 300 turkeys on Thursday, we were over 70 when I left at 4pm today.
I am counting on 400-500 sold tomorrow.
Good evening,
Another long turkey filled day, my body is just buzzing from exhaustion. I did have a customer come to my associate and I and said I am looking for a big turkey, I responded to him by saying you found the 2 biggest turkeys in the store. Got a pretty good laugh from him.
have a good night!
Good evening, Christmas family
I am getting very excited about putting the tree up Thursday !!! I can't wait !!!! Please say a prayer though, if you could, for DJ. He had his follow up one year PET scan to check and see if he is still Hodgkin's free. The only thing is that a couple months ago he discovered a lump in his breast. The doc does not seem overly concerned about it but I am. He will get the results back on the 22nd.....Any prayers will be so appreciated xo
It is a perfect and magically Christmassy evening....Watching The Polar Express, small fire burning in the fireplace and Wishbone is curled tightly against me sleeping peacefully.......
OK, I haven't been on here in a while, had some computer issues. Well we had our Thanksgiving feast at work today. My boss deep fried a turkey, if any of you haven't tried that yet IT IS AWESOME!!!! We also had ham and mashed potatoes and green bean casserole and apple and pumpkin pies. The only bad thing was that we had to go back to work afterward.
I'm sorry this has happened to your dad, Neal. It's not everyone who can still be thankful. He sounds like a great guy and a strong man. Continued prayers for him and your family.I just talked to my dad, My sisters have seen him and they said his whole left side is dead, thank God he has great insurance that will pay for a full time nurse... He will hate that, but it is what it is, he can't walk at all,and he ran 4 miles a day a 63 years old,but now he is basically wheelchair bound. It's so hard to see my dad that way,he was always so strong and eveything,I know this has to be hard on him, thanks everyone who has prayed for him...the one thing he did say was he should be thankful for what he has..some ppl that had the same kind of stroke he had are in a coma the rest of thier life...
I am so excited about Thanksgiving! I feel slightly overwhelmed and stressed too. So not like me!!! I WANT to do it all, cooking, baking, cleaning, preparing, etc. No one is expecting me to do it all. If I up and decided to go to a cafeteria it's fine with everyone or if I wanted everyone to help that is fine with them too. In the past I did it all with no problems.
I am in a very good mood about Thanksgiving and super excited! The only drawback is I have been exhausted. Nothing more than that. IT WILL be a great day!
Guys and Gals,
Listen to the description of this morning and tell me it isn't perfect....
Cooking for Thanksgiving
Reading our local newspaper for Black Friday ads
Drinking coffee
Eating homemade blueberry breakfast bar
Reading the Countdown
Tell me that isn't awesome!
Ah, I love this week....just love it!
these are pictures my daughter took on her cell phone of the front of the church with some of the operation Christmas Child boxes already collected. We are expecting some more to come in tomorrow, so hopefully on Tuesday I will have a final count.
I have always thought that the Wednesday evening before thanksgiving is one of the most exciting times of the year.
Oh and I just watched "The Dog Named Christmas" on Hallmark. Talk about a tearjerker! I loved it!
I love Thangsiving coffee...
YEPPER! YABBA!
Good evening,
MMC's biggest turkey is here, one more day until a day off. This has been the roughest week, so busy, and we are almost to Thanksgiving.
Looking forward to spending more time here soon.
Have a good night!
Just got back from a surprise 11th birthday party for our daughter. She and Nancy have been in Daytona Beach, FL this weekend at Dance Camp. I'm glad they're home (finally!) on her birthday.
It's also our anniversary. Seventeen looonnnnggg...I mean SHORT...years! No time for us, though. They're studying for another crazy Monday test. Oh, well.
I hope y'all have a great evening!
Now I'm watching the Giants play the Eagles and hoping the G-men pull out a win!!! They are losing 10-3 right now and it is hard to watch!!
Hope everyone has a great night and a good start to the new week!!! <3
Ahhhh, one more thing...hope this is allowed here...if it isn't, I apologize!
I finally finished DF's and my wedding website, and thought I would post it here for anyone who'd want to check it out! Feel free to comment in our guest book, it is lonely! We don't have any pictures in the photo album yet, but there are some scattered around on the site. Hope you guys enjoy it!!
