My thanks to those calling in for the gobble contest. You might think you sound silly but really you're spreading BIG SMILES. When I heard Christmasstar's gobble, for whatever reason, I just about spewed water all over my screen....

Thanks for participating. And remember, we'll be taking calls all through Thanksgiving Day! Let's hear from more of you!

Jeff
That was a Canadian turkey call, happy because he survived our's and your Thanksgiving....I think he forgot Christmas is coming!

Sorry don't want to spoil your mood, but I am sad right now and need to rant a little.

Yesterday we (=family) recieved a official letter from our landlady (house owner). She informed us that she will be vacating our flat to march 2012 the latest. Our house will be teared down sometime around July or August 2012! We lived there since 18 years and it's a big shock to us.

It won't be easy to rent a new flat, because we live in a region with high rents and I am not sure my parents will be able to pay such high rents. If they move away, my mother will be forced to quit her job and search a new one, which doesn't make it any easier.

Now my sister and I have look if we find an affordable flat for ourself, because then my parents can choose a smaller flat which will be cheaper. Could you please pray for us? That would be soooo nice!

Thanks to all who pray for my family and me! We appreciated it very much.

@Shellie: I know renting does have its flaws. But buying a flat or a house in my country is a very expensive thing. There not many people who can afford that and those who have houses are rather well off or inherit it.

I hate moving! I have rented most of my life, some places great, others well, lets just say I am glad not to be living there anymore!
Looking for a place can be as much work as moving. Praying you find something that works for all of you quickly.
how about this? I hear it is cheap...

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've stangely been able to get a lot of stuff done at work here this morning. Maybe the afternoon will go just as well! We have a big weekend planned, starting with Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, followed by some hunting, eating, etc.

Mom wants my brother and me to go Black Friday Christmas shopping with her. We went last year, and we had a great time, but I was beat for a week after that. Oh, well. I'll do it for mama.

Saturday evening we're going into Savannah for the Savannah Boat Parade of Lights. It's beautiful to see all of those boats in the river with so many lights!

I think I'm going to take Monday off work to be with the kids since they're out of school.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving weekend, my friends!

Good morning everyone! I feel tons better today, perhaps the wine knocked it right out last night! I met my dad's Dr. this morning, and did not care at all for her! I want him to change Dr's but while he is at the hospital they said that was impossible. Some Dr's are great and you can tell they love thier jobs, but some like her I met this morning, went into the wrong profession! My dad is not doing as good as I imagined if he leaves on dec 3rd he will need round the clock care, and I am just glad he has excellent coverage and will not have to pay for it at all,but I feel sorry for the patients that are not covered, medical costs are outragous!
On a brighter note I am taking my mom's pug to the vet at 1 to get her nails clipped and then we are cooking, and tomorrow we are going to take Dad a hot meal and spend the afternoon with him. I have so much to be thankful for and him being alive is one of them!! I apprecaite all of your continued support and prayer, you guys really are family, even though we have never met I feel a bond with all of you,and I hope everyone has a great day today, and a wonderful thanksgiving!

That looks like that walking robot thing on Star Wars!

Everything is so busy today! The roads are packed and the grocery stores(already been 2x this mroning)are packed, even the hospital was abuzz with people coming and going. I always enjoyed thanksgiving eve,I feel 100 percent better this morning. I was worried about taking my cold to the hospital and giving it to Dad,but when i woke up this morning it was gone!!! Like I said we are going to start cooking thisafternoon, My mom is doing the ham pumkin pie ,sweet potato pie,and cocunut pie, my bro in law is frying the turkey in the morning and I want to pay attention so maybe I can do it Christmas at my house,,,it looks like Christmas will be at Portland too on account of my dad not being able to travel, this was the first year we were going to have it in Ga in my new home, but I guess that will be next year. I talked with brandi and said it was cold and raining in Mass, but no snow...here it is cold cloudy and 45F I love it! back in ga is still in the 80's...I was getting majorly annoyed by that...I read we are going to have the warmest winter in 300 years in the deep south!!! that includes you CAH in Tx!!! we were spoiled by the last 2 record breaking winters! But I feel better knowing I will be here at christmas it's always cold here...The baby is due Jan3rd so I don't know if we will be here or not,in fact I have yet to discuss this with brandi I know the dr will be against her travelling across the country when she is about to give birth! Maybe her folks will decide to come down which would be great too! I want them to see and spend time with me before the baby comes.I've met them but really don't know them that well. anyways I better get a shower before I go to the vet....have a good day!

Good morning everyone! I can't believe tomorrow is already Thanksgiving. I cannot wait for the turkey and the pie!
We're either putting up our Christmas tree either today or the day after tomorrow. Either way, I'm excited. Now it just needs to snow!
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and get to spend time with your families and eat so much food you feel like you're gonna explode.
Have a great day everyone!

Continued prayers for your Dad's recovery and for you and your family, Never give up hope, miracles do still happen every day and with modern medicine advancing, anything is possible. Hope you and your family have the best Thanksgiving possible under these circumstances.

Good Morning, Christmas friends!!!

I probably won't be around much tomorrow, just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

I came across this, and thought it was funny:

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

LOL that was awesome! Thank you for sharing!

Just a quick note to say good morning, Christmas friends. I am still under the weather but feel a tad bit better. I still have a cough but I know I am on the mend. I, too, hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving. It is definitely one of my favorite holidays; that plus Christmas. I will be at the Pines later. The smell of pumpkin pie from my computer is awesome!

Hope you feel 100% again soon Seawaters, glad to hear you are feeling a little better!
