You will have so much fun. I really want to go to this show I'm just concerned that its in such a large venue(a stadium).

I have friends and actually people in my family who have went to concerts there and said it has been really great, even with it being in the stadium. They said that there weren't really any bad seats from where they could see (hopefully!) I am really looking foward to it!

We enjoy Myrtle Beach, too, but there ain't no easy way to get there from I-95!

It will be my first time there, so I am very excited. I've only been to Ocean City, MD. I used to go there every summer, as far as the beach was concerned. DH has been there before. It will take us about 10 1/2 hours, so we will leave at night and hopefully the kids will sleep most of the way!

I actually don't like the beach, but Myrtle Beach has become much more than that. It has a lot of family fun!

Your prayers for peace worked today. I did not get good news, but I was not hysterical or anything. There is definitely a lump on the left and some suspicious stuff on the right. So I go back on Wednesday for two biopsies. I was at the doctor's office from 8:30 until noon. TTYL.

I can't pretend to fully understand the fear and "what ifs" that are likely roaming through your mind. I do know and have witnessed amazing and miraculous recoveries. As you recall, I have included your mom and son in my Relay for Life treks around the track and I'll walk or run for you too. My ex-DIL survived three battles with different types of cancers. The last one, she was told not to bother with treatments, but she endured them and is still in remission two years later. Keep your spirits up and hope in your heart, you shall overcome! It won't be an easy conversation, but I am certain you will find the courage to talk to your family and the words will come to you.

Good morning, MMC! Hope you're all well this am! Not much going on here. I've been up since about 5:30 am - that's when DH get's up for work. DS got up around 6, so he's been up playing since. EA slept until 8:15, so I'm now sitting with her while she watches Disney Jr.

I'm now caught up on the countdown and I'm enjoying a cup of coffee as a post this.

Not a whole lot going on today. I have BBQ spareribs in the crockpot for dinner already and soon going to start some wash. I soon have to go do some more cleaning. I got three rooms of the house done yesterday. It's sometimes hard to clean with a 2 year-old because she just undoes what I've just done. (I'm sure any parents here have discovered that more than a time or two!)

Yes - the place we're actually staying at is a family resort and it sounds AMAZING. I know the kids will love it. DS will be 11 months by then, so he will be float in a sitting up raft, play in the sand, and that kind of thing as well. I am just really excited. I can't wait for them.

I was deprived of the Disney fun as a kid because my dad doesn't like to fly and can't drive that far because he bad knees and a back, which he has already had surgery on, which I understand. We plan on taking them there when EA is probably 7 and when DS is 5 - I want them both to be able to really enjoy and be able to WALK. Haha. It will be just as enjoyable for me as them!

Wow! Single digits the day after tomorrow!

Warmer start yet, albeit still coolish at degrees here in the capital city.
Should get up into the 60's by this afternoon and be nice and dry.
About the best you can expect in these parts in January!

My father is a survivor as well. In fact, it was his story and my Christmas miracle that paved the way for my introduction to a place called Christmas.com, the first forum I discovered where folks, like us, could gather and chat about Christmas. My father had a similar form of a cancer that Mike Douglas (the actor) had. His own mother died from it when I was only a year old. There has been so much progress made in treatments over the years that I am happy to report when I add names to "My Hero Cape", there are always more names in the "infield" (survivors) than in the "outfield" (in memory). This year our theme is whatever each team choses and my team is going with the hero theme again. I'm usually the team mascot, this year I'm going to dress up as a lab tech working on a cure with an creative idea I have to include Star Wars lightsabers to target different cancer cells. This year's local 12-hour trek is scheduled for June 22nd-23rd.

You will not believe this but I just asked Wayne is there something big going on here in Dallas because Coach's family is here. Just then, the news showed a big game going on at the Cotton Bowl! I am assuming that's what they were here for?

I have been to the Cotton Bowl many times for concerts. My brother actually went there for a Cowboys game when they use to play there. We also watch July 4th fireworks from there every year.

I ran a 3k around the Cotton Bowl last year and there is a museum that we are a member of that is located right next to it.

The Cotton Bowl is a big deal here. =)

That's awesome to hear! God Bless him as well! I think that's great that you do a Relay team. My work and my husband's work does a team. We walk every year and particpate with my husband's work. Both of my mom's parents had cancer. My grandfather's was prostate and he had it until the day he died - he died from a heart attack - my grandmother had a lymphoma. She did radiation and died from a pulmonary embolism(blood clot in her lung) the night of her hip surgery. DH's cousin just recently when through his chemo with Hodgkin's diease. Last time he was to the doctor's, they told him the cancer was gone. He is only 27 or so. I hope it continues to be this way!

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma was the third type of cancer my ex-DIL survived. The first one was ovarian, the second breast cancer. She was so far advanced that they didn't think there was any hope. Alas, she beat it!

I lost an adult friend to lung cancer. That was rough on me. We were close which was not an easy task because she was such a private person. She let me in and I will always remain happy that I earned her trust and friendship. I still miss her.
