Xmastidings, you mentioned being in your 50's and enjoying Disney. My mom is in her 70's and loves Disney as well. Not as much the movies but the place itself. She has taken her grandkids (my kids) to Disneyland twice and Disney World twice. Now she is ready to take her great grandchildren (my grandchildren). She agrees and says, "It is the happiest place on earth"! It's a childhood memory for her since she grew up near Disneyland and was there for the grand opening and performed in a choir for the big event. (I know I have mentioned this before on here but not sure if you knew that).

I really hope we can gather those kinds of funds to take the grandkids there. It sure has gotten very expensive!

Now that sounds like a really cool grand mom; her and I would get along like two peas in a pod!!!! I think that is awesome that your Mom was there for the grand opening and was able to take part in it. I'm a big Disney Nostalgia type of person, I like the older sections of the park, the history and try to look for parts of the original park and rides and such when I am there....

We try to go there ourselves like every 2 or three years. We started going there with our kids when they were 5 and 7, and now they are 19 and 21. We were just talking the other night about going there again this year, but for the first time, go during the Christmas season (between Thanksgiving and Christmas) so that we can see the parks all decorated for Christmas....

We like to stay out of the park, rent a condo (they are a lot larger, have a kitchen, washer and dryer, etc...) and then drive everywhere, then that way, we can go to whatever park, whenever we want and as many times with the park hopper tickets.

Nothing beats the hand-drawn animation in the 1940s Disney films. Some of the textures, lighting, and effects in Pinocchio, or Fantasia, for instance---amazing work! I'm afraid the art of hand-drawn animation and backgrounds will be lost now that CGI is the standard. (CGI actually creeps me out a little … ) We were discussing it the other day, and the only mainstream hand-drawn animation we could think of is Simon's Cat.

Oh Merry, you are sooooo onto things here...I love the old Disney hand-drawn animation, some of them are my all time favorites. I do have to give someone credit with restoring the old films and cleaning them up, the colors really pop now and the sound is fantastic.... I'll bet you, that we must have 100 (at least it seems that many) Disney VHS tapes, DVD's and Blue Rays....

Well, after a month of negotiations with the people of this house we put a contract on, we finally came to an agreement on the price of a home and the homeowners have agreed/ accepted our final and last terms/ offer; as of 5 minutes ago..... Which means....... WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!!!!

It will be official once we sign the paperwork tonight! Thank you everyone for all of your support that you have given to us during this whole process.......

I'm so happy, so very happy..... not for myself as per say, but mostly, it is because it was the house of my wife's dream and I'm happy that she's happy~
