Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning ~
Well our 3-6 inches of snow has increased to 6-12. We already have several inches on the ground, I'm sure we'll be closer to 12 inches where I am, I've been shoveling all morning. It started out as rain early this morning so the snow is incredibly wet and heavy. I like to shovel as it's coming down to make it a little bit easier. Thankfully my middle one had off today. I made my youngest stay home from work. My husband and oldest had to go in to work, hopefully the plows will do a decent job before the commute home. I'll definitely be in for the rest of the day. I'm going to get started on the laundry soon and work on a menu plan and grocery list for next week. I'm making a beef and vegetable soup in the crock pot for dinner. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Prayers to Harlow & Snowflake & Family

Snowflake wanted me to let you guys know that they didn't do the operation on Harlowe. The x rays and tests showed some fluid on her lungs and that her heart was enlarged. So they didn't want to risk it. They gave her meds to help with everything and will redo the tests in s couple of weeks. If there is improvements then, they will go ahead with the surgery. Adrian was going to pick her now.

She's asking if everyone could please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

We're getting the heavy, wet stuff here too ... I keep hearing creaking and groaning from trees and such outdoors. It's a wee bit unnerving. When the wind blows, I can hear big plops of wet snow hitting the ground.

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

I'm still working on our network, but it's getting better.

School was dismissed today due to weather...and it's sunny and 55°F! We had a lot of rain a couple days ago, but we've had more in the past. I don't know who makes those decisions, but they need to get their big-boy pants on and go to work!

Jacob has a gig this evening in a coffee shop, so that'll be nice.

Oh it's nothing fancy. I soak them in a homemade marinade for 24hours or more before cooking so they soak up the seasoning and spices. SMoked wings sounds DELICIOUS! Could do with some now!

Sounds tasty! Is it a spicy marinade? Do you bake them in the oven?
My BIL (who owns the butcher shop) sells an amazing wing with amazing rub to go on them. That is what we would use in the smoker. I haven't run it by my hubby yet, but I want to try. They are so good on the grill, I would hate to mess that up, but it's worth a try, I think!

Our basement is finished and we have a pool table, fuze ball table and some wii games so hopefully that will keep them occupied..lol My 9 y/o will be the lookout for any funny business going on..lol. Sunday we are going to a friend's house for Superbowl.

My youngest is 13 and my fiancé's is 8 days younger. They are turning 14 next month. My boys were easier when they hit their teens. I didn't have to worry about mixed parties (they never really went to them anyway). I can empathize with you SnowflakeMom. Hopefully you have enough distractions and your lookout is spot on.
