well, got most everything done for tonight's bbq....just frying up the bacon and then set to go ...I hope. Oh, maybe I should make a salad too?

Good evening everyone, or should I say goodnight?
Well, the wife and I went out to do a little bit of car shopping this evening. The plan was simply to look, not really to buy just yet. I have been looking online at various car lots ans such for several weeks now, so I had a pretty decent idea what was in the area and what we were looking for. We went to a local lot because of seeing a car online that intrigued us. We wanted to see the car in person. To make a long story short, we could not NOT buy the car. So... we bought a car tonight. It is a 2007 Chevy HHR, granted, not new by any means, BUT only 32,000 miles!!! The car had only 1 owner who bought the car from that lot and just traded it in. The owner was an older couple who barely drove the car. It is in perfect shape inside and out. They took great care of the car and kept the maintenance records as well. The price was right, lower than what we were willing to pay. Pretty exciting evening.

Now it is about time for bed.

Moving dangerously close to twin Milestones!

First, the numbers:
Days to the Season: 212
Days to Christmas Day: 254

And would you look at this, now. Two Milestones for the price of one!
First, the 1/3 Christmas Day marker, a scant 11 days away (SINGLE DIGITS from the day after tomorrow!)
The following day sees the opening of the 200-day Season French Windows onto a 100's level count landscape and the ever-acellerating pace to Christmas Season 2016.


Still a tad cool, but nothing a light jacket won't handle.
By Monday, the 70's will return and last right on through the week with virtually no chance of rain.
Marvelous!
Our thermometer currently reads 45 degrees here in the capital city, but it's calm and sunny.

Yes, it is good. A lot of stuff about his acting work, a bit about his personal life, but overall it is about living life and not being afraid.

Good Morning all my Christmas loving friends !!

Friday already, wow time is just flying by.
Just took 2 loaves of sourdough bread out of the oven and it smells great in here !!!
working on some focaccia bread for first time. I buy it at farmers market but never made it myself. Will see how it comes out.
Doctors appointment this morning then plan to do some accent painting and wallpaper (just one wall) in the living room. Tomorrow getting some work done on the van.
It is finally getting into spring temperatures here. Still a few mountains of snow in parking lots slowly melting but looks like spring may be here at last.

It's still rainy this morning, and it's supposed to stay that way all day. Yuck. But at least it's Friday!

Tonight we're taking Nancy's mom out for her birthday to an annual production called "Tales From the Altamaha." It's pretty popular around here, so I'm looking forward to it. Of course, Nancy's sister is insisting we go to the fanciest restaurant in the area before the show. I don't like going to restaurants that recommend men wear coats. Too fancy-pants for me. But she won, so I have to dust off the old sport coat, I guess. LOL

We spoke to her yesterday by phone, and although she's physically frail, she sounded great! She has ongoing physical therapy, and her walking is improving, but she's still using a walker at home for stability.

We gave her the good news---on her birthday---that we're going to pay her a visit this summer. Now all three of us are pumped about it! Money-wise it's a scary thing, but we haven't seen her for 2 years, and now that she's 90, we can't let the opportunity pass. (The way she sounded last night, though, we wouldn't be surprised if she reaches 100!)

Yay ~ I was hoping you and Mr. were going to be able to have your vacation there this year!!
