Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning ~
Happy Thursday!
It's going to be another warm and humid day, we're expecting thunderstorms later this afternoon. Not too much going on here. My husband wants to work on the gazebo for a couple of hours. This project is taking much longer to finish than he said it would. That's alright though, I'm sure it will be worth it when its finished. I think I'm going to do some shopping this afternoon, my daughter has a birthday coming up. I'm also going to stop at my butcher, there was a fire in the store a year ago and he finally re-opened. I can't wait to see the new store. That's about it for me. Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve! It's hot out already! I came home from my daily run soaked in sweat (you're welcome for the nice image). But this time of year I often say if you go running at 6AM you're still gonna come home all sweated as if you ran in the middle of the day. It's definitely hardcore summer time weather out there. Oh well I did say I didn't like the cold and snow in the winter so I can't complain about the heat now. I'd still take this weather over the brutal cold of January. But I won't mind if it cools off eventually at least a little bit.

Yes, Folks. Time is passing away and we find ourselves precisely one, lone week away from the TWO-THIRDS mark to Christmas Season 2016, hard though that may be to believe.
(And as you can also see, we are getting mighty close to a DOUBLE DIGITS Season count, as well. WOW!!)


More rain yesterday afternoon, but it didn't amount to much and there was no lightning or thunder. No severe weather watches or warning either, always good news!
Our thermometer reads 76 degrees here this morning and we are hopeful for a dry day.

Oh yeah that's why I won't complain when it's hot. It's not hot that long around here during most of the year (mostly June-August are the real months that we get really hot). I'll take it...but there's nothing like a September-November day. A lot of the best weather.

Happy Thursday MMC! I hope you're all doing well. Still waiting to get a new date for this crazy project we have that was placed on hold. Someone suggested October and I was like, uh uh! No one is messing up my holiday ramp up! These fools better stick to the summer time frame.

A few years ago we went on a cruise and they had this female comedian that performed a family show at 8:00 and an adult show late in the evening. She was absolutely hilarious. Everybody was in stitches at the 8:00 show. We also went to the late show thinking it wouldn't be that bad. WRONG! It was bad, real bad. And she wasn't nearly as funny. We walked out after about 5 minutes and people weren't laughing like they did at the earlier show. She didn't have to be vulgar to be funny. But I guess it sells tickets. I miss the old days that I never got to experience.

Two of the BEST live shows we ever saw were Steve Allen and Victor Borge---both in the 1990s, God bless 'em---and they worked clean, of course. We also saw two wonderful shows with Bob Nelson, who also works clean. I guess most comedians feel they HAVE to be "adult" or vulgar just to compete with their peers these days.

In your case, the audience already knew the comedian could be hilarious working clean. Their lack of response to the vulgar stuff may have been sheer disappointment. We probably would have walked out, too!

Look, someone has graduated earlier today. It means I didn't get kicked out of uni but finished it instead.

I've felt the need to share the news with you guys since you were someone who held me accountable and patiently read - or didn't read - my complaints about how complicated and sleep deprived uni life was. So, thank you for that. You are amazing! :}

It was disgustingly HOT today, Six Flags was so uncomfortable in the heat and all the people there. We will not head back there when it is as hot as it was today. Driving through downtown Springfield, MA at 6pm the thermometer in the car said 95 outside.

Tomorrow we will stay where it's cool and see a movie.

I am done like dinner tonight.

Same for us yesterday. It was too darn hot in the house to eat a hot meal, so we just whipped up some tuna salad sandwiches and ate them with potato chips! It'll probably be cold cuts tonight, because today will be another hot one.

You amaze me! You know Bob Nelson's act, too!
We went to see him because we love him in "Brain Donors." We had great seats very close to the stage in a small venue both times we saw him, and we still talk about him.

We first saw Borge when he was 88 years old---he did a one-man act and worked for about three hours with no intermission, including falling off the piano bench and Phonetic Punctuation. An amazing man. Have you ever heard his LP where he tells Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales, accompanying himself on the piano with Danish folk tunes? It's marvelous!
