Mum is now safe and sound back home. It was tough saying good bye but we are both adjusting back into things and looking forward to our next visit hopefully next summer again.

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Things were somewhat overwhelming for a while so I needed to take some time but you all were never far from my thoughts. It was helpful having Mum around and I am feeling better.

Now it's time to focus on what's to come! Can you believe we are welcoming the ber months tomorrow!!!! We are one month away from my absolute favourite month of the year - October. It is the biggest milestone month for me.

It's all about to start and I look forward to catching up with everyone ad celebrating our favourite time of the year together.

I can't believe it Festive. As I said to you in another thread I remember like yesterday you and I around Feb. 20th counting down the days to March 1 (the day of hope). Where did the 6 months of spring/summer go?

A few years back, I saw one of my cousins while shopping and learned that his mother had passed away. It was sad, I remember going to their place almost every other weekend as a kid. It's good that you are re-connecting with your uncle and cousins, it's never too late.

Thanks! Yeah I told my cousin not to feel bad...it happens in a lot of families. Fortunately now everyone is getting older and realizing how some people who fought over certain things didn't really matter in the big picture.
 
Good Wednesday Morning MMC! Happy Pines Day! Most importantly Happy 'Bers Day Eve! The last non-Bers day until New Years Day. Let that sink in for a minute. Think about all that we will experience in the next 4 month. It's the stuff people like myself wait for all 8 months long. Not to say I have not appreciated the summer (and spring). Winter not so much but I'm working on that for 2017 :). My boss sent us a really nice email yesterday about how we covered for each other this summer when everyone was in and out on vacation. She told us she wants to take us out to lunch one day soon. It was nice to hear.
Have a great LAST NON-BERS DAY EVERYONE!!!

And can we really be down to only SIXTEEN days to the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW and the beginning of a double-digit count?

Another fairly nice day here yesterday considering it's still August, although we are monitoring a couple of tropical systems that could brush past our cottage.
Currently, it is sunny and 76 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina, in the heart of Panther country.


OK! Last 'Pines open house of the month. Next week's installment will have a 'ber theme.
Wonder what Carl's entertainment will be this evening?
Only one way to find out. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Good morning MMC! Happy Hump Day, Merry Pines Day, Happy last day of August! (how did that happen?!)

I had a fun night last night doing a little grocery & dollar store shopping! I was at the dollar store to pick up a few things for Mom when I decided to take a little stroll down the "Fall" aisle. It's not much but I picked up a few little things to add to my collection...

I thought they were pretty cute for a couple/few bucks! :) I'm not decorated for fall at home yet, but of course these things are out already - I wasn't going to put them away at this point in the game! :D

I forgot to mention my fun at the grocery store last night!
@made582 - LOOK what I finally found!!!! I think you told me about these before Thanksgiving maybe 2 years ago & I put them permanently on the grocery list in my phone, looking for them at every different store I went too. Well guess what showed up at my normal shopping spot & when I wasn't even looking!!

My eyes about popped out of my head - I was pretty excited!! :D LOL (it's the little things....) We will have to try it soon!

Oh, & @snowflake22 - I also picked up some Leinenkugel Harvest Patch Shandy! A grocery trip can't get much more fun than that. HA!

Found out my aunt passed away this weekend. Hadn't seen her in years. Just started talking to my cousins recently after a falling out between our fams when we were kids. Kind of sad...but it made her happy that we had started talking again so that's one positive.
