Yeah!!! And the realization that in 17 days, I will be marrying my best friend!! It seemed so far away, then I blinked... (cue the maniacal scream for getting everything done on time!!)

Mum is now safe and sound back home. It was tough saying good bye but we are both adjusting back into things and looking forward to our next visit hopefully next summer again.

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Things were somewhat overwhelming for a while so I needed to take some time but you all were never far from my thoughts. It was helpful having Mum around and I am feeling better.

Now it's time to focus on what's to come! Can you believe we are welcoming the ber months tomorrow!!!! We are one month away from my absolute favourite month of the year - October. It is the biggest milestone month for me.

It's all about to start and I look forward to catching up with everyone ad celebrating our favourite time of the year together.

Winter not so much but I'm working on that for 2017 :). My boss sent us a really nice email yesterday about how we covered for each other this summer when everyone was in and out on vacation. She told us she wants to take us out to lunch one day soon. It was nice to hear.

Another fairly nice day here yesterday considering it's still August, although we are monitoring a couple of tropical systems that could brush past our cottage.
Currently, it is sunny and 76 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina, in the heart of Panther country.


OK! Last 'Pines open house of the month. Next week's installment will have a 'ber theme.
Wonder what Carl's entertainment will be this evening?

I had a fun night last night doing a little grocery & dollar store shopping! I was at the dollar store to pick up a few things for Mom when I decided to take a little stroll down the "Fall" aisle. It's not much but I picked up a few little things to add to my collection...

I thought they were pretty cute for a couple/few bucks! :) I'm not decorated for fall at home yet, but of course these things are out already - I wasn't going to put them away at this point in the game! :D

I am so excited for tonight. Football is on the radio, it's Pines Night and the LAST night of August! We've made it to the first major "milestone" that sends off fireworks in my mind and heart-we're getting closer!! I cannot wait to enjoy the fall season with you all and the countdown! Hope everyone had a great day today. Things were a bit all over the place at work but I dealt with it well and feel good! Ready to get a good night's rest...Sleep Tight, MMC, to wake up in SEPTEMBER!

Just got word our neighbor lady at the lake passed away this morning! #@&^ cancer! Her significant other has had a trailer close to us for years. They started dating probably close to 10 years ago. He left a message on my phone this morning wanting me to let everyone know. He was so upset. The poor guy! Hate it! :(

So it should be an adventure. It'll be my nieces first time back and our first time in 14 years. So it'll be good to see everyone. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!
