Christmas Countdown - 2016

Take a pretzel bow and place a Hershey kiss on top of it. Bake in oven at 325 for 2 mins then when done place an m and m on top and put on fridge til they get hard. Enjoy!

I made these the other night - only I used Hershey Hugs & round pretzels. YUM!

Hello everyone. Haven't posted in ages. Life has been so hectic! Well today is my last day at work and i get 2 days while the kids are still in school and hubby at work. Will bake, wrap presents and last minute grocery items. We will all tackle cleaning together on Friday when everyone is home.

Hope everyone will not stress and just do what you can and dont worry about the rest. Im enjoying these last days of prep and have decided to just go with what I can get done.

How nice to have a couple extra days to get things done!! Hope you enjoy your time off & all the prep!!

Good Tuesday morning! A full day of cooking and baking for my family tonight started at around 6:30am. I've got a coleslaw and macaroni salad done. Now getting some breakfast before moving on to my family's favourite veggie-packed sub sandwiches. We're going for "buffet-style". Mini pizzas and individual nacho bites, plus the usual dip and cheese canapés are also on the menu. Then I'll get to baking chocolate and butterscotch chips cookies, oatmeal cookie sandwiches with a maple buttercream, cinnamon roll quick breads and sucre à la crème, a traditional Québec fudge made with cream, icing sugar and maple syrup. As usual I will make way too much food, always worried about running out. But that's ok, I'll have my lunches for the rest of the week. Hope everyone will have a wonderful day!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

It's been cool for the last coupe days, so I went home from work yesterday and put on a sweater and sweat pants, then sat down with the TV remote. THEN Nancy walked in the door. Soon, I was dressed again and on the road shopping. Grrr. Maybe tonight.

It's going to be around 50°F today, but 75° and sunny on Christmas Day. It's might still be too cool for shorts, but that's too hot for a Christmassy sweater, doggone it!

It's not looking very promising for a white Christmas here either! We're supposed to have a high of 45º on Christmas day. Boooo!!!

GM MMC....5 days left!! I still am in awe!! Came up so quickly. I am going to hopefully finish up wrapping today. I placed my last Amazon order last night for some stocking stuffers. Hope you all have a great day!!

SOoo....I have to ask this question early. Do you already have the new countdown for 2017 figured out yet?

Each year, I plan and draft the next year's countdown launch post some time between Christmas and New Year's Day (my yearly one week vacation from counting!).
I copy the prior year's launch post into a word document, then review and edit it as necessary, changing dates and adding the current year's count total in the statistics section. Sometimes parts of the text no longer appeal to me or aren't relevant so I delete or change items. But it stays about 90 percent the same year after year.
(After all, Christmas is largely about tradition, right?)
