My goodness, those two poems just made me cry. It's funny because we here at MMC (for the most part) don't know each other in real life and certainly have never met each other's pets, but from the stories and pictures everyone shares, it feels like we know them and we come to care for them.

Oh no Holiday, I'm so very sorry to hear that. My heart hurts for you. Gracie was much too young. She has left your life but she will never, ever leave your heart. I will be praying for you and Jim. Sending love, strength, hugs and prayers <3

Oh my goodness, this was meant to be. Lucy was heaven sent. She is precious Angie!

Thank you HMG! It's such an up & down time! You know how hard it is to lose a pet.
Lucy is pretty precious! We will find out how long it takes for her horns to appear!

Well guys, it's with very heavy heart I report in this morning that we had to say goodbye to our sweet Gracie yesterday! Everything was shutting down - she was a sick girl! No more suffering for my baby! What an awful, horrible day! As hard as it was, we knew we were doing the right thing! My poor sweet girl. She was dealt a raw deal! She's forever in our hearts!

Now that I'm a blubbering mess after that post, we had a turn of events last night. Gracie sent us "Lucy"! We had our feelers out for Wheaten breeders, but nobody had puppies available until December. 1st of all I hate our house without 4 paws in it & I didn't want to wait until December. Also didn't want to be training in the cold & during the busy holiday season! Jim was on the internet & stumbled across a breeder close to where Emma lives. He called them & they had 1 female Wheaten left in the litter - 8 weeks old, ready to go! We jumped in the car & off we went. We came home with "Lucy". That's the name she was given by the breeder, not sure if we'll keep it or change it to Stella! Still debating! She was a good girl last night! Gracie can never be replaced but Lucy sure makes me smile!! What a roller coaster of a day!!! She had her 1st visitor this morning ~ my sister came over to see her.

Good Afternoon ... Chilly rainy day here but I am still loving it over the heat and humidity Still finishing up loose ends around the house before the kids go back to school next week. I need to start working on a weekly lunch and dinner menu again, once school starts back up so do the school activities and I want to avoid take out and fast food this year as much as possible.

Lucy is adorable...what a cutie she is! She will never replace Gracie but she will be such a wonderful addition!

Thank you SFM!! Yes, Gracie was much too young. The vet said his wife asked why this had to be happening & he told her the good dogs are always the ones that get sick! He said putting her down was a punch in the gut to him too! Even he choked up. So sad!
I'm looking forward to watching Lucy grow & change! (although they are so cute when they are little, I'm not pushing for the changing color!)
