Christmas Countdown - 2011

Have I told everybody that streaming netflix is the best thing ever????? I'm a huge WWII buff and I'm watching WWII in HD. Amazing. Not the footage, but the sacrifices of all soldiers. Not just ours....all of them. One of the biggest regrets I have to this day is that I didn't serve my country for 4 years. I admire all of them (and those of you here who have).

I'm a WWII buff also. I love the movies made during the war to help morale at home. Memorial Day is a great day to watch AMC & TCM as they show war movies all weekend. A friend of ours was a POW in WWII. He was part of the Bataan death march. It really humbles me to talk to him and realize all he went through.

I know it's big talk in the Countdown to make sure everyone is ok.

I am waiting for the first layer of icing to dry so I can continue practicing some new piping techniques for a cake competition. It has been awhile since I did piping as the new decorating uses fondant and gum paste with very little piping work.
I love learning new things!

Wow! What a party last night at the Pines! Carl spiked the coffee...tea...maybe even the fired twinkies.

Gonna be a hot one today. Going to hit 100. It's just June 9!! Wish we could get some relief. Maybe rain will come this weekend!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Everyone here at work is looking at me like I'm crazy. I'm wearing one tennis show and one flipflop 'cause the broken toe still hurts. It's a little better today, though.

My little girl is the best. She kept checking on me, making sure my foot was in a comfortable position, bringing me lemonade, etc. Did I mention she's the BEST?

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is clear here in northern California with temps in the high 80s on the way. I guess our cooler weather was only here to dump a bad cold on me and lead to a couple of broken ribs with the coughing. I still hurt badly, but I do feel better "coldwise." It will just take time for the bones to mend. Gotta go so I can stop by the store to get juice for the kiddos to go with their pizzas. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Ahhh, the first day in the 100's for the countdown! It feels SO great to say that! I like this point in the countdown - we're getting closer and can feel some excitement, but we know there is still so much to enjoy on the way there in the mean time. BBQ's, 4th of July, Autumn, Halloween - so many fun things to keep us happy, but still with the end feeling closer in sight!

We've got (just like everyone else it seems) another HOT, HOT, HOT day here. I'm home for a bit today and don't go to work until 3 or 3:30. Kaylin and I have to go run a few errands today and otherwise, we'll just be trying to stay cool!

OOhh! Good luck at the upcoming competition! I know that fondant is the way to make all of these amazingly decorated cakes that are SO neat, but I still love a simple buttercream frosting with piping and flowers best.

hope everyone is having a good day. its really hot here and all 7 kids are keeping the pool busy lol bradmac hope your foot gets better soon. been there and it hurts like crazy.and you have such a sweetie! mine are that way too, even the baby. we have 7 blessings here if I didn't have my kids, i would be lost!

well, in 2 more weeks, i'll have a new pc I can't wait! using the wii is ok but the pc is much better! hugs 2 all.

not my favorite time of the year either, I like spring and fall, comfortable temps, cool nights, just right! Other than Christmas when I like lots of snow and frosty windows!!

Good afternoon, Christmas family !!


Like everywhere else it seems, it is HOT here in N.E. Ohio....No matter...I am listening to Nat King Cole singing "The Christmas Song"......I really love this man. In My humble opinion there will NEVER be another voice like Nat !!

I am cautiosly optimistic........I was reading some articles on the internet today about how dogs with seizures ALWAYS have some kind of altered level of consciousness. The thing is, Wishbone DIDNT !!! During the "episodes" He was fully alert and oriented and knew where he was...he was just a bit wobly.....Perhaps I am grasping at straws.....but when a child is sick or has a potential problem, and not matter is that child is human or a furkid.....isn't that what we all do ??? We try to figure out what is going on and tell ourselves everything will be fine.

It may just be denial but for right now that's my story and I'm stickin' with it ! cheesy

I am feeling really exhausted. Sleep has been worse this week than previous weeks. But this is my Friday !!!!

I hope everyone who is sick feels better !
