Its been a beautiful day here in MD... around 80 degrees and I have been loving the mornings being in the 60's.. ahh Fall is just around the corner! Have a good afternoon Christmas friends!

Hey Im here...just been busy at work! Not a whole lot of damage in our neck of the woods. Closer to the water there was some minor flooding but nothing major. Quite a few trees down but a lot better then it could have been!

Glad to hear you're safe and that was the extent of damage at your place!

I've got half of a batch of pear chutney cooking on the stove - smells wonderfully spicy and vinegary in here. :???:
Make sure you are wearing a hair net.

Welcome everyone. Glad that everyone is safe and sound. Horrible weather, just horrible! Well lets tell mother nature we want FALL and we want it NOW! lol. Almost Pinesday too!!!! We went to the Zoo on Sunday. William heard a rooster crow for the first time. Look on his face was priceless. He then said "What was THAT Daddy????!!!" I took a picture of his reaction and will post it later tonight. OMG almost September. Some hot 90's coming our way at the end of the week but a dip into the 60s-70s coming next week. Last weekend in September is when I put my lite up pumpkins and tombstone on the porch! Holy cow that's coming quick! I cant wait wait wait!!!! Well back to work I go. Have a great day and Monday is almost done!

CM3: I love Christmas Ideals. I'm going to have to check out Amazon for the latest one. I have been picking up older issues at thrift stores and garage sales - every now and then I am lucky enough to find an issue in great condition :)

Goodnight, Christmas family - may your dreams all be pleasant and the coming day a joy!!!!!!!

Glad everyone in the storm path is OK. Now, if you don't mind, could you pipeline some of that extra rain back to the country's mid-section?

Gladly - our local park is looking rather swampish - we had the wettest August on record!

I almost forgot Jayish. We haven't heard from him on here and he hasn't posted on facebook since Friday.

Where I live in New Jersey, Irene began with rain at about two yesterday afternoon. I watched the Weather Channel intently and got more and more concerned as the day went on. My wife and I slept in our den on the bottom floor to be far from any trees that might fall during the night...We even prepared with packed bags, medicens for both human and feline members of the family and electronic items that would do no good if power was out but somehow made us more comfortable...Irene kissed us good morning, yanked a few already dead limbs out of our trees, dropped about eight inches of rain, and has now seemingly moved on leaving a windy afternoon and leaves and sticks galore...All of our preparations were for naught as the power went off for about five minutes early this morning, and that was it. I've been watching the rest of the storms path and we seemingly got off very easy...My thoughts and prayers are with those who were not so fortuneate!

Good evening,

Long day at work today, day off tomorrow, I will be spending time getting the water out of the basement. JP starts 1st grade tomorrow, my boy is growing so quickly, it feels like just yesterday I held him for the first time. A friend of the family passed away yesterday, he was in his 80's, his wife and him never had any children of their own and always treated me very well. He will be very missed by anyone he ever met, he was one of the nicest, honest people I ever met.

2 more days until the "Bers!"

Have a good night!
