Good morning Christmas Family !!

I start my second day in about 25 minutes or 9:30 a.m. EST. I hope it goes as well as yesterday or even better. I am starting to get slightly worried about getting my last 2 pays from my old employer. They were really good to me in the beginning but that deteriorated to them being just kind of odd. I have no clue if they will direct deposit or use the mail. If they use the mail, I may be in a bind for the bills due this time. Oh well. Will just have to wait and see.

Be careful everyone going out in this weather. I am so blessed to be able to stay right here in my home and work. It becomes a bit isolating at times but actually for me it is better than having to drive, I HATE driving.

Made I hope your mom continues to feel well. Christmas A Holic and Snow In Texas I hope your pipe problems get fixed and Xmas365 I hope those cracks don't cause a problem !!

I hope all are well. I will be back this evening after I am finished.

Take Care Christmas Family !! xo

Good Morning, Fellow Weekend Anticipators!

My Goodness, Ballcoach. Your eloquent post nearly brought Carl to tears.
That post and the outpouring of support has made Carl so happy and is responsible for his decision to hold a special open house this coming Wednesday where the first TWO glasses of iced tea along with the first TWO fired twinkies will be free.

And with that tasty thought, on with our ever-declining count:
Days to the Season: 282
Days to Christmas Day: 324
Tomorrow will see us down to just one week until the one quarter Season Milestone!

Cold and wet here at this hour.
We stand at 37 degrees under leaden skies and a 100 percent prediction of rain for today and tomorrow before clear skies return for the 2nd half of the Weekend.
It's all relative, of course. We feel quite lucky in contrast to some areas of the country who are buried under ice and snow.
(Hey! It's great down here in the South. Y'all come!)

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
Not to mention a Wonderous Weekend Eve!

Carl is sensitive and generous!

Good morning,

Not much going on in my neck of the woods, just going to work in a little more than an hour.

Have a great Friday!

Caninemom, the precise origins of Carl's ability to talk are shrouded in mystery.
(If even Carl himself knows, he's keeping it a secret.)
But your Narnia/Aslan theory is certainly intriguing!

Good morning everyone! I am watching the news and Dallas looks like michigan!! I am thinking about Snow in texas and CAH..is this anywhere near normal for you guys? I have talked to a buddy that is a truck driver that is stranded in Little Rock of all places because of 6 inches of ice! so much for this being a La nina winter!! this is almost as cold as last winter here in the deep south. Last year we did get snow but I am not holding my breath. It is still suppose to snow where I am going to travel to work next thursday..Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a wet day down here, and it's supposed to stay that way through tomorrow. That's ok, though. I have a busy day indoors tomorrow.

My son's basketball team lost last night, but they fought hard. That's all I can ask. He has another game (1st playoff) tomorrow at 11am. If they lose, they're out. My daughter is spending the night with a friend tonight. She's going directly from school home with her. I miss my little honeybee when she's not home. It's amazing how little girls get inside your heart so thoroughly, isn't it?

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is chilly here in northern California. I have a sub today because I have to meet with the other third (or maybe it's thrid) grade teachers all day to discuss reading and how to approach it with the students we have. I have 30 students and 16 of those of either on medication or have severe enough problems to warrant EXTRA help. In addition to that, we have working conditions that are not the best with the present administration. So political! Enough of my whining. Take care, all of you. Have a great day!

For the heck of it might try holding a hair dryer on high about 1-2 inches away from the pipe where it comes out of the wall for 5-10 minutes and see if any thing happens.
I have been trying that off and on but I guess it's just been so many days frozen it's not going to budge. :-? I might keep trying though!
Good evening,

Just got caught up on all the posts from today, winding down before bed. The bosses at my workplace are really worried, the inside walls have a bunch of new cracks probably from the weight of the snow on the roof, stay tuned for this one. It looks like I missed a heck of a Bruins game tonight, I forgot to record it as they beat the Dallas Stars. Everyone is sleeping but the cats are nuts tonight.

I hope everyone has a great night.
Be careful at work!
Out for another day of job hunting....so much for the "this will be easy" thought!

Have a fantastic day everyone!!!!cheesy
Good luck to you today!
Hi everyone, I am home in Scotland for the weekend! How is everyone doing???

Its very windy here, but i here someone in a street close still has there tree up, I shall maybe go on a scavange and find it!
Very nice to hear a Christmas Tree is still up!

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!:playing: That's right, my supervisor called me and said they were closing and not to come in to work today!!! We have about 5 inches of snow right now, and it is still snowing. They weren't calling for this much snow. We just keep living up to my name.

I do want to thank Judesmama and SuperDave for their help with our hot water heater problem. We really appreciate it!!!
I am so happy you are home with me!

Snow In Texas & Christmas A Holic,

I heard on the radio that the Dallas area is hit hard with black ice covered with 3-4 inches of snow, if you go out be careful today.
It's amazing to see this kind of weather here!
Good Morning Everyone!!!!!! It is another freezing cold morning here in central Indy. We are supposed to warm up to 31 today so the ice is going to stick around for a little while longer. I need to run to the grocery store today and I also need to find some more salt before it starts snowing tomorrow. Mom is feeling better today so she went to work since she has missed the last 3 days. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy mom is feeling better!

It was a nice post by Coach!

This is not normal AT ALL! We have never had our schools close down for 4 days. When I was a kid it closed down the max of 3 days in a row and I never saw that happen again. After that maybe every few years it would shut down for 1 or 2 days. I am loving it though!!! :snowball:

I have been trying that off and on but I guess it's just been so many days frozen it's not going to budge. :-? I might keep trying though!

My neighbor brought over a heating pad and wrapped it around the outside pipe, but then again, it's dry here with no snow build-up. Don't know how safe that might be in your neck of the woods.

I hope the football fans packed their long johns!!!!!!!
To Xmas365 and Made, the Super Bowl fans that have arrived here cannot really get out and do anything. They thought it would be a lot warmer and some fans thought they would be wearing shorts. I am not sure if they packed for the weather!

Yesssss! My grandsons are amazing but that little granddaughter of mine just melts my heart. She is so sweet!

I feel for you! I know being a teacher is very hard and rewarding work. As I mentioned before I did child care for 12 years. Actually I still do watching my grandkids full time. Anyway, doing child care that long caused me to have the highest respect for teachers. Not only do you have to teach them but you are responsible for them and have to take care of them. I hope parents give you the respect you deserve!

Oh yeah! I have a heating pad and I heard that might work. Doesn't hurt to try it inside. Too wet outside right now.

They barely predicted 1-2 inches of snow overnight here and so far we got 6 inches and still falling!!!

I have not left my house since Saturday. I was sick Sunday and Monday then bad weather came in on Tuesday and hasn't stopped. I love it though! I plan to bundle up and walk around in the snow a little today.

You know what? Since my husband, Snow-in-Texas, joined this site we have had some record breaking snow here!!! He just joined this site with that name for "wishful thinking". Since he has been here from Maryland we actually have had very little snow every other year. Now it's been 2 years in a row with a lot of it since he picked that name! Yay!

I hope you all have a great day! :snowball:

Brad,I love cool cloudy weather it's the rain I can do without because it will rain at 33F! then when it comes across Mississippi and Ala it is snow then as soon as it gets to my parts it turns to rain! but next week I am working at Warner Robbins Air force base about 2 hours north of where I live now,and it is calling for snow in Middle ga,and north ga,so at last I can see some Georgia snow next thursday. It will probably snow/sleet where you are too since you are at about the same latitude as/macon/warner robbins! but this is Ga after all so who the heck knows! I say bring it on!!!

Aaah, Macon & Valdosta---those were our two stops on the way to Disney World last year!!

It is really tiring though, I am wondering how people who have kids are capable of doing this: I work 40 hours a week and I have been feeling as if a group of reindeer have been doing the salsa on top of me! Maybe I have to get used to it... how do you guys keep up with yourself and your families during the workweek?

You just have to get into a routine & it does get better. Some nights I'm really tired & other nights aren't too bad. DD is 5 & in kindergarten, so doing homework & getting into bed by 8 p.m. took some getting used to instead of playing all night & staying up late. Now she's in karate, so that takes 30 more minutes away from family time 2 nights a week.

Now I really try to enjoy Friday night-Sunday night with the family & do housework, dishes, & laundry when I get a chance in between! I get up at 6 a.m. even on the weekend to do housework while DH & DD are still in bed and out of my way! I sometimes get a nap on Saturday & Sunday afternoons to make up for it.

I wouldn't mind seeing some fresh snow here. The old snow is getting rather ugly.
