Afternoon all :sparkle:

CM3, thinking of you and Wish and Lily and your poor back and your new job schedule ... I hope things all come up happy for you.

At work right now and have a wedding to prepare for this afternoon. It's going to be h*ll. The bride and groom are 19 and she has been given between 2 days and 2 weeks left to live. Wedding ceremonies are supposed to be full of hope and future. I've done what I can to alter the words and make it full of love but without alluding to anything else. This is going to be tough..........

How bittersweet---the ultimate expression of hope, and the ultimate commitment to "until death us do part."

Wishing you the best as you prepare for this. Hubby and I stopped by one of our favorite restaurants yesterday. Our waitress got a call while we were there that her boyfriend had just died. What a sad moment. The thing with life is we all could have just two days or two weeks to live. We just never know.

Mr. and I have both cheated the Reaper a couple times, and it's so true. You never know what life will throw at you next or when it will end.

Friends, today is the day. Word has "The Camel" has some great ideas for tonights party! See yall there!

cake is in the oven ; will be ready to bring to the pines tonight!

I will be SO ready for a visit to the 'Pines. Save me a hammock and a slice of cake, please!

The temps this week are getting even hotter! We are preparing for temps up to 106 this week. It still has not dropped below 100 (the high) for several weeks now.

SNOW!!! I want SNOW!!!!!! :snowball:
I don't know how y'all take. We lived in Dallas for 6 years. The summers were miserable.

Good Wednesday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

Boy, it's nice here! It was only 90° when I came back to work from lunch, and it was raining again. I could get used to this.

If it's not raining this afternoon, I promised my son we'd go bass fishing. I just love sitting on a still pond in our little aluminum boat, waiting for that big one to jump on the lure. That's hard to beat!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

It's raining

150 days til christmas....wow time sure flies by!!! of course it is still a few months to go...but usually the second half of the year seems to fly by just like it was Usain Bolt

It's sunny

Well, I got the wedding done and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. It was due to start at 3pm but she wasn't doing very well so we waited until she felt stronger. Her father carried her from the house down the aisle - there were flowers everywhere - her mum followed on behind with her oxygen. They sat together at the front and I did the ceremony in such a way that he repeated his vows but I asked her the question (he said "I take you ......" and I said for her "Do you take....") so all she had to say was "yes". I did, however, make her repeat the words when they exchanged rings; I felt it was important for him to hear her say " I give you this ring as a token of my love and, when we're apart, look upon it and know I am with you" Gotta say, that started me off!!! She was taken back into hospital after the wedding and they've been told she won't see the weekend out.......that has to be one of the hardest things I've ever done BUT it was a good day because they love each other and they got married and they were happy today.

Let tomorrow look after itself.........

I hope hearing her say those words helps him in the days ahead. I will say a prayer for them tonight.

They did where I live. I hope they have them where you are!

Thank you for sharing this. How utterly touching. Saying a prayer...

The grandkids usually get here around 7:30 am. My son in law called last night and his job got moved until 11:00 am so the kids will not be here until 10:30 am. I got to sleep in today! I needed it, I have been so exhausted!

Sleeping in? What a nice thing to happen to you! I hope it gave you some energy! How come you've been so exhausted?

You said it, Sister! This has been another brutal summer here as well. You know what I was thinking about?...I was thinking that in just one month - I'll start to see the first signs of autumn! There are certain trees around here that start to change colour and I always notice it during the last week of August! That's only a month away!

Good evening,

I just had to come back on, it was quite a day we took the boys to a local beach for the day. It was fun an I got a sunburn on one arm, go figure. We get home around 4:30 to make dinner and JP puts the TV on and all of the sudden the ominous blue screen from Emergency Broadcast Systems pops on saying "alert, alert, alert tornado warning in effect for your area." My heart dropped since it is still less than 2 months from the one that devastated our town. The boys started to panic at the same time the lightning and thunder really get loud. The kids and my wife went to the basement, I stayed upstairs and watched the news, and they were saying it was heading directly for our town again. I heard a news and I booked it to the basement. Needless to say it never materialized but it looks like some did touchdown in a couple neighboring towns, and they did say there was a funnel cloud spotted in my town.

What a day.

Have a good night.

I cannot even imagine what that must be like! I'm so happy to hear that you and your family are okay!!!

I would be wishing it would just jump in the boat!

Today, after work I went for my first jog in quite a few months.. and well.. It was tough. I can already tell i'm going to be sore tomorrow.. but thats what I get for stopping in the first place!! Yesterday I started eating healthier.. hopefully i can get my self in great shape for next summer...

Good for you! Just keep it up! Runnung is a passion of mine. I started back into running a couple months ago - and I love it more than ever! Don't worry - your muscles will get used to it in nor time, I'm sure!

Good morning, Christmas friends. I will soon head out to my classroom to pack up stuff for moving. If there are things I haven't used in a year, they will be packed up and given to my daughter who works at a sort of group home and to a friend of hers who is in her first year of teaching. I am not looking forward to packing and moving, but I will be glad when it's finished! Hope everyone has a great day!
The joys of packing. I hope you get through it quickly!
This year I plan on making a special ornament for everyone - crocheted, knitted, or cross stitched. I need to make a supply list up and head out to a craft store or two.
I have thought it would be fun to take up crocheting and knitting. Not sure when I will do it though.
Super tired and I have a place in my back to the low left side where there seems to be a disk that spasms.......it is so painful I can't even tell you.......
I hope you feel better soon!

I have been here all my life and still not sure how I stand it! Lol! I have some family that are from the north tell me they love summer. Then they come here to visit during the summer understand why we complain. A friend of mines mother came down here one summer and said she will never be back during that time again. lol. Summer in some places up north is more tolerable than it is here in the south. =)

It's funny you ask. I just got through posting about my fatigue in the Ask a Guru section. I have been suffering fatigue for awhile and when I get busy it gets a lot worse! I have been really busy lately! =)
