Christmas Countdown - 2011

Not much on today ... we'll probably stop by at Mr.'s parents to drop off a baby afghan that my MIL wants to give as a gift, and chat for a while if they're up to it. I've got various things to do, but I'd rather relax. Back to work tomorrow after my food poisoning adventure last week.

It has been a bad day here. 1st I got word that our friends Dad passed away. My hubby was at their house helping put on roof. He has been sick & this was not a surprise, but still sad. Less than an hour later I got a call saying that our friends 3 year old daughter was killed in a car accident. The parents (our friends) were out of town with her family celebrating her parents 50th wedding anniversary & the kids were with their cousin. Well of all people - an illegal immigrant whose drivers license has been revoked - pulled out infront of them, sending their 2 boys to Childrens hospital (but they are going to be ok) & killing their little sister. My heart is heavy tonight! We really do need to count our blessing every day & ENJOY every minute with our loved ones!

So much sorrow all at once ... I'm so sorry. In Massachusetts someone was killed by an illegal immigrant's driving, and that was a hot news story for a time. I count every day with Mr. as a blessing---we've both had serious illnesses in our time, so we're both aware of how fragile life can be and how suddenly it can end.

i am done cleaning the house and just had milk and cookies with Kandice and my goddaughter Kimberly. Now the 62 movie Flipper is on TV and I am watching it with the girls.....funny...the movie is so old.....it took 19 more years til I was born

Ah, Flipper ... the TV show was on (reruns, maybe?) when I was a tot, and I used to love to watch Flipper! I don't think I've seen it since then. I remember the chittering sounds he made when he "talked."

Hello my Christmas friends! I hope you all are well today.

It is a beautiful day here in Alabama. I plan on enjoying it fully. I still have to rest and take it easy...no stress. I have to admit I am loving it. I can tell my stomach ulcer is getting better. I'm not in as much pain. Those things can really hurt. There is so much in the house I really need to be doing, but I am not stressing over it. Hubby is doing laundry for me; and one of my daughters said she would do the dishes. Those are my biggest chores right now, so if they get done I'm good. Luckily, I love my job, so tomorrow should be okay. They lady I partner teach with said she would do most of the stress-inducing work. All I have to do is "play" with my Pre-K babies. Yeah! I should be good to go by the end of the week. At least, I better be.

So..... Bath and body works is setting out their Christmas candles!!! Loveeed frosted cranberry and tis the season!! So delicious smelling!

I bought a bunch of 50% off Halloween themed candles and wall flowers

As for the giant department store called 'The Bay' it had a bunch of Christmas stuff out.. I was thrilled to walk through the enterance and see it all!!! Almost bought 2 stockings but DB said no

Also, bought a car today from DB's sister cute, little 2005 Chevrolet aveo! Maybe having two jobs isn't sooo bad hahahaha

I was at B&BW yesterday. I bought those candles and a few others too! Well actually it was the Tis' the season a cranberry woods, merry mistltoe, winter night and deck the halls. Plus I had a coupon for a free item up to $13.00 =)

So cute! I can just see your Mum doing that! Thanks for the explanations. I thought that's what it all meant, but sometimes school teachers over-analyze stuff. Plus, we use technical terms like "stuff." I like both Christmasites and Christmaslights. Great interchangeable terms!!!

(The Christmas Season arrival, that is.)
And a scant 10 weeks until Christmas Day.
(Better start thinking about that gift list.)

Four more weeks! Four more weeks!! Four more weeks!!! How wonderful is that? Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to visit the mall this weekend. Kim and I did some cleaning yesterday, then I went to the gym and had a few other chores to do. And, of course, I can't go to the mall today as there is a football game at 1 PM! Packers vs. the Rams!

It is another chilly day in Ottawa. We are currently at 12C (54F). Oh, and there are about 55 km (30mph) wind gusts, too. Not pretty! Still, it is a very nice breeze through the screen door!

Just getting back from church and we went out for pizza and salad,I have not had pizza in a long time,I had to splurge! I have gotten in a bad habit of eating chiplotle mayo on everything! I will probably end up watching my annual screening of The Night of The Living Dead (original in B and W) this Halloween season at some point and then be scared for the next several days !!! xo

Oh CM3 I LOVE LOVE LOVE! Night of the living dead!(1969) I love all horror movies but that one just gets me everytime! I actually do get creeped out by that movie...especially the ending gives me chills everytime! I actaully worry about stuff like that happening in real life.lol!

I am so tired today. Not looking forward to getting started in a couple of hours with my work week. Having only one day off this weekend just didn't get it ! Oh well......Thank God I have a job and one I do at home no less !!

It is Sunny here in N.E. Ohio today but appropriately chilly which I love. I have a pot of coffee going (Come on over Binger !!) and am bracing for Gooberocity !! No radiology today since it is a weekend which means.......Plenty of Goobers......I should mention, I do really respect physicians....It is just that I listen to so many who do not have a real command of the English language and it is frustrating. The thing is that not all the docs I listen to are ESL (English second language) Some of them are "regular" and to tell you the truth they couldn't talk their way out of a wet paper bag !!

I will be much less anxious after Friday this week.........

Hi Shellie ! Gooberocity is just a word I made up. I am a transcriptionist by prefession. I listen to doctors and try to type what they say - I started calling them "goobers" because some of them are really hard to understand - I just expanded on the word "goobers" and made it "gooberocity" ..........xo Wish is doing better xoxoxo

Good evening, Christmas family


I am just sitting here FINALLY able to enjoy my weekend. As I wrote before, I had a mandatory 8 hours extra that I had to do between yesterday and Saturday so I decided to get it done TODAY. That way I have Friday evening and all day tomorrow !

I never thought I'd make it another eight hours AND make my line count but by the grace of God.......I did it ! xo

I am going to fire up Windows Media Player and listen to my "new" Christmas albums as I surf the Web !! I am planning on going to Bronner's Website and looking at their nativity pieces !!

My sweet Clancy is on the couch asleep like a little baby all 96 pounds of her........Ivy is already in bed (she sleeps in her dad's room !!) Wish is of course at my side at peace resting and the two kitties, Smokey and Lily, are trying to find a way to launch a new feline plot for getting into mischief !!

Hi Christmas family! So I know I've missed a lot over the past couple of days! I had been reading some posts here and there, but then never got to reply. Weds and Thurs, my husband worked nights, which put him leaving for work around 4 and I worked nights too, so until my sister got here to watch the kids, I had them until I went to work around 10. I was busy with that and work in general. Thurs into Fri I ended up working a 12 hour shift - 8 pm and I never got out of there until 8 am, so I was very tired too and I ended up falling asleep last night at 9 pm on the couch.

Anyway, this weekend off. As I know that I have missed a lot, as much as I would like to get caught up on things, I know I will not have the time even the next two days to get caught up on everything. If there is any big news I missed, someone write back to me and let me know, PLEASE! Thanks! Otherwise, anyone who is feeling ill, I hope this finds you well. Anyone who is need of congrats, CONGRATS! Anyone you needs a prayer, I am sending you or you're family one now. If I left anything out, know that as a part of your Christmas family, I am still thinking about all of you!

We have lots of cleaning to do today, then we have a Halloween party to go to tonight. My parents are going to watch the kids for us so we can go. Hope everyone has great day and I will be checking back in. Oh and by the way, it's game day, go State!

I am in a Christmas movie mood today. I have a very painful stomach ulcer that has flared up due to stress and anxiety, so the doctor said I have to have a stress free weekend. LOL (I laugh every time I think about those words together. LOL) Christmas lights, sounds, and movies always relax me. Hubby even took me last night and looked at Christmas decorations in the store. We were going to buy this outdoor train set that I liked, but they didn't have the one with the white lights that I wanted so the store is going to call me when they get it in. Yeah!!! I can't wait. I have to say, I am enjoying my day.

It is very cold out, but our new heater seems to be keeping the downstairs quite toasty - hopefully there will be big savings on the gas bill this season! While I was at Menard's I checked out their Christmas items - they have a nice selection out at the moment. There are a couple of ornaments I am thinking of buying, but I am waiting for them to go on sale.
