Today marks exactly two weeks until I return home for Christmas. Yep, I will be flying back to Sault Ste. Marie for the first time. We'll see how nervous I am when it all comes about!
sounds great! I have not been up to the Sault for almost a year now. I have friends visiting here fro Bruce Mines. Hope you have a great visit!

Sunday afternoon ... both trees are up and decorated, cards and packages are going out tomorrow. And for no good reason I'm feeling tearful and blue, even though I've had MCR on all morning. Our local Dairy Queen is closing for the season today, so I'm sure we'll run out there at some point for a farewell treat. Tomorrow it's back to a very busy week at work, but at least it's another four-day week. I have Friday off. We're taking a day trip with a friend Friday to visit a poster restoration guy out in the western part of the state.

I hope to get out of this funk soon and get some holiday cheer going.

Mmmm - I've also just been told that he's completely painting and papering as well. We don't currently have any of those things

I wanted my tree up next weekend!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like he has a completely different conception of "Christmas decorating" ...

Sitting under the glow of my tree, we will not be going to NYC next Sunday, with the power outage last month we had to spend our trip money on food, soo NYC at Christmastime is put off until a year or 2 from now.

So sorry to hear that Mother Nature cancelled your trip to NYC ... I hope next year will be the year. After all you and your family has been through this year, you deserve that trip.

Hello everybody:)
So far started the morning off great.. Laying in bed listening to db sing along to michael bubles Christmas cd:)
Startled the cats, but I'm enjoying it hahaha

Merry Christmas to all & to all a good night!

And now he's dancing at the end of the bed...... Hahhahaha oh I love that man :D

Merry Christmas to all & to all a good night!

I bought a beautiful Christmas table runner when I was in Vermont this summer and now cannot find it anywhere!
Any of you know where I put it?

Never go to Target at Christmastime in the afternoon. If you must go, go when the store first opens in the morning. Lesson learned.

Had a wonderful day shopping yesterday. Left home at 8am and arrived back home at 7:45pm. LOL
The Christmas Tree Shoppe was mad-packed with people. It was sheer craziness. Picked up some toys for grand-kid-os.
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I might just sign off and watch a Christmas DVD. I'm thinking IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE.

Thank you! I won't be gone altogether---I just won't be able to check in from the office in the morning and after lunch every day. Happily, I have a couple days off this month when I can check in. And I'll still be checking in from home most evenings.

Glad to hear that you'll still be visting us! We would miss you, MC! Try not to get too caught up in work. I know it may be hard, but make sure you take some time for yourself and Mr!

The big day is almost here. I am sorry to have been away for so long

Welcome back! Good to hear from you!

time for my weekly wiegh in- it was 350 this time last year and last week it was 215. NOT bad if ya ask me. Still have 68 pounds to go but I will get there. *SMILES*

That is great news, congrats! Keep up the good work!

I won second place in the competition!!!

Congrats, Star! That is awesome! You deserve it!

I bought a really cute Christmas Story mug last night @ Walgreens. The handle is the leg part of the lamp

I would love to have one of those. I should look at our Walgreens. DH has the lamp (mini size). It cracks me up.

Im sick today but have 'the list' to do anyway.

Hope you're feeling better!

Can't wait for tomorrow.
Our annual Christmas Tree Trek!
First, it's off to the Farmers Market to see what they have.
(Sometimes we get our tree there)
Then, on to Logan's Trading Post to get our poinsettia, the tree (if we don't get one at the Farmer's Market) and to luch at the Seaboard Cafe. (Great sandwiches there!)
On back to the house then to decorate!

Hope you had a nice day with your family!

I'm baaaaaccckkk!

Got home yesterday and feel 1000 times better!

Glad to have you back here at MMC, Coach! Glad to hear you're feeling better as well!

Good Morning everyone... I am sooo NOT in the spirit... it could be because we have not finished decorating yet and everyone in our house hold has been suffering from colds for the past week. I missed a couple days of work and while I was home was really not in the mood to watch any Christmas movies. Really am hoping its just this cold that is causing the humbug in me right now.
Since everyone is starting to feel better we want to take the kids to a couple Christmas related events this weekend, a local christmas parade, some speciality shops and our town is having Christmas in the local park with Santa and lighting of the Christmas decorations in the park on Sunday night. .
I did manage to get out my Christmas cards last night so I am hoping to start on them tonight and get them in the mail by next week... Still cant get over how fast time is going by...

Have a great day!!!

Sorry to hear your family hasn't been feeling well, but glad to hear that you're all starting to feel better now. Keep coming back to MMC. That will get you in the Christmas spirit for sure!

This weekend my Son William who is 2 will write a letter (Well I will lol) to Santa! This will be his first year writing to the big man in red. I want to make it as magical as I can for him!

You sound like such a great father. William is so lucky to have you. Enjoy writing the letter with him. I think that is a great idea. That has given me the idea now to do that with EA, so thank you.

Monday I'll take in my office decorations when I go back to work.

Thanks for sharing - I loved this!

Thank you both for sharing! I love seeing a picture of everyone trees. I will need to get one posted of mine!

Well our trip to the Christmas parade and tree lighting went horrible. My sister and aunt were sick and didn't go. My brother in law also didn't go because he was at work. So that left just me and mom to watch my niece's and it might as well have just been me because mom was to busy shopping at the craft booths. The choir singing was the first thing going on. They little part I heard sounded good. I was kind of busy dealing with one niece who was complaining her stomach hurt and another one crying because she squeezed her hot chocolate cup to hard and spilled it all over herself. Then they moved onto the live nativity. There was to many people and my niece's couldn't see. So that led to another breakdown and trip to the car to let everyone warm up and calm down. We missed the tree lighting while we were at the car but they didn't even stop traffic in the streets this year so you really couldn't get a good view of the tree anyways. Then it was time for the parade. My youngest niece had a melt down because the sirens were to loud on the police car and my older niece was mad because the 10 cars that made up the parade weren't throwing candy. After the parade we left and headed out to scout for Christmas lights. There were a few good displays but nothing to spectacular. So the night didn't go completely as planned but I got to see Santa and some Christmas lights so I guess it wasn't completely horrible.

It sounds like you did have an interesting night...glad you did get to see Santa! At least you got to spend time with your family :)

I have my graduation on the 9th and I am going to a water park as part of an excursion on the 14th. I'll catch everybody later. I enjoy reading everybody's stories every single day.

Congrats! It sounds like you will be having a lot of fun the next couple of weeks!

Any of you know where I put it?

You don't remember giving it to me? It looks great on my dining room table!!

Laundry is being done and I'm going to a friend's Christmas party tonight.

Hope you had a great time!

The chorus that I play piano for had their first Christmas concert today, and it was at one of the local nursing homes. We sang for about 40 minutes, which is usually all the longer we can keep attention at these facilities, and when we were done the residents wanted "MORE"! One little old gentleman came up and tugged on the back of my blouse while I was picking up my music, and told me how much he enjoyed the concert. However, he was disappointed that we had not sung his favorite carol. I asked him what it was, and he replied "O Holy Night". Well, being an organist, I could probably play "O Holy Night" in my sleep, so I sat back down and started to play it. The really nice thing was that the chorus members were still standing around, and they evidently heard this man talking to me, because they all started singing it. So we had an impromptu encore, and the little old gentleman went away very happy that his request had been honored. Now see, that's why I like playing the nursing homes and assisted living facilities better than the 'regular' concerts. They are so rewarding. These people expect so little, and it is so wonderful to be able to do something for them, even if it's just singing their favorite Christmas Carol. It made my day. Heck, it will probably make my whole week!

This is a wonderful story! Thank you for making these people's day!

I'm watching Miracle on 34th Street on DVD and eating chicken noodle soup (not feeling hot). I see an early bedtime in my future.

Good morning from Norway, with this picture from my living room this minute...
Says it all, doesn't it? ♥

Thanks for sharing a picture of your tree! Beautiful!

Morning!

I'm sitting here on the horns of a dilemma - and it's not comfortable, let me tell you!!!!

I don't know whether to hug or beat my other half senseless. I came home from work yesterday to discover my living room FULL of wood, drywall, filling compound...you get the picture........

He's decided to make a kind of faux fireplace as a focal point with the TV (it's one of those hang on the wall jobs). You cannot move with all this.....STUFF!!!!!!! He's taken down all the shelving so books and ornaments etc are on the couches covered with a blanket, so the floor is the only place really to sit although that's covered with stuff as well; he's pulled down the wallpaper on that wall (but not entirely, just has to finish the bits he missed)

Did he miss the fact that I'm on a Christmas site at some point during the day 365 days a year? We have Christmas cards arriving daily???? I'm actually SHARING my chocolate advent calendar with him??!!!!!!!!! HeLLO????!!!!!!!!

"It's beginning to look a lot like A NIGHTMARE........."

Oh my!!! Sounds like he is trying to do a nice thing, but it stinks it is so close to Christmas. Hope he gets it done before then so you can enjoy the decorations!

I want to go to Mass today but my body (especially throat/neck up) is telling me something different.

::sigh:: I think I'm gonna go back to bed though I definitely need to go to Target today (more Christmas cards definitely!).

Hope you feel better soon!

I am feeling a little rushed on here today and haven't had time to look everything over.

We went running around yesterday and got home around 3 pm. I felt so tired that I took a shower and collapsed in bed to watch tv until I went to sleep for the night. I didn't even turn on my computer. I just didn't feel well. My weekends are so busy but always good and have another busy day today.

I hope to find some time this evening to check in.

Have a Christmasy day everyone!

Hope you feel better soon as well!

Hi everyone! I'm caught up to this am's posts and I'm off tomorrow, so I work on that tomorrow. I've got to work tonight at 11, so I've got to go catch a nap now.

Not anything new here. Worked on Christmas cards today and will mail them out tonight when I head to work. Steelers played today and won. It was a very good game.

I hope you're all having a great evening! I will talk to you all tomorrow.
