Hi everyone... Sorry I haven't been around much these last two weeks, just crazy busy, but with ALL good things!!!

I was at BJ's over the weekend and picked up a two disk set called a Classic Christmas, it is awesome, it even has one Darlene Love Winter Wonderland!!!

Crazy weather everywhere. We are going from a high of 58 yesterday to a low of 26 tonight with a couple of inches of snow suppose to fall. I wish it would stay cold until April.

Good Wednesday (Pinesday!) morning, my Christmas friends!

Last night, my wife & kids bought me a Christmas tree from Lowe's that plays music with synchronized lights...and I LOVE IT! I looked at it last week and really wanted it, but I couldn't justify spending that much money this close to Christmas. So they bought it for me yesterday! I put it together last night in the dining room and turned off all the lights and let it play for an hour. I fell asleep watching it! I actually hate to put it out in the yard. I like it in the house. LOL!

Last night was the first Tuesday of the month. That means Family-Night Supper at my inlaws. There was probably 25 of us there. We had fresh turnips, fried cubed venison, grilled sausage, macaroni & cheese, cornbread, biscuits, rice & gravy...whew! I'm still full!

Gotta get back to work; I'll be back later. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Yep! Snow-in-Texas and I slept with no heat and it was cold!!! You know what? I will take the freezing temperatures without heat over the hot summer we had with air conditioning! Summer was horrible!

I will be back on in a little bit to catch up on the post. Time to fix breakfast! =)
Amen, sister!

I'm with you on that. I hate hot weather. You can always but more clothes on but you can only take so much off...
That's what I tell my wife when she says she love summertime.

Crazy weather here too. Yesterday we were at 65 degrees in NYC!!! Today they said a high of 60 but it is already 63!!! The temp is suppose to start going down tonight they said and tomorrow will only be a high of 46, crazy!!!

I guess though I prefer it warm to hot, I wish it would be warm like it has been right though to summer but I know we have just been lucky!!! I am not a huge fan of cold weather, but I don't hate it or anything, I would just prefer it warm. I do my most work and I feel alive when that hot summer sun touches me... Ahhhh, I am thinking about the boat, the beach, the ocean, the small of coconut sunblock lotion, the ocean breeze white puffy clouds, ahhhh... My girlfriend always teases me she now lives in South Africa and it is summer there at Christmas time and she tells me how she puts up her Christmas lights in a tank top and short!!! We get such a kick out of it, and she has these Christmas Pink Flamingos she puts on her lawn, it is so funny!!!

Speaking of the boat, the harbor did the most awesome Christmas Light Boat Show all the boats put up Christmas lights and it wasn't that cold which was great because it was a huge turn out!!! We had so much fun!!!

That sounds so cool, Brad! What a sweet thing for your family to do for you. Can you post a pic?!

Good afternoon everyone! I looked at the weather report, and it's already 7 degrees colder than it was this morning. Now that's more like Christmas weather!

good morning, i am so slack, i've only been posting 1x a day. TELL ME WHERE THE TIME GOES!!!:yahoo:
I know the feeling. I feel bad because I cannot read the entire board and respond to as many posts as I would like to!

finished baking parts for 5 gingerbread houses last night, 11- 8" cakes yesterday morning. 3 dozen cookies in the afternoon. This morning mixed up the gingerbread house cement. Now to start packing it all up. Gingerbread this morning and cakes this afternoon. I like teaching, but if I do it on my own the classes will be longer so every one is not so rushed! (especially me!)
That sounds delicious! Kim and I have to look into doing something gingerbread before I leave on the 18th. It won't be homemade, but it should still be OK!

I also see we have gone beyond the 500,000 views count!!!
Yes! Let's get to 600,000!!!

Very cold here, was in the 20s last night, and our heater wasn't working. Somebody has been out twice to fix it, and it works and then it doesn't work. It is working right now, but it wasn't last night, I slept in my robe last night. We go from a record breaking summer of total days over 100 degrees to freezing our you know whats off.

20s must be extremely cold for you two. That is rough! Hopefully the heater is fixed soon enough. Similarly to C-A-H, I also enjoy the freezing temperatures. They can be soothing at times! ... especially at night.

I'd leave it inside, too, Brad! That sounds awesome. I have musical lights here, but I am sure that your tree is much more updated and magical! It is especially amazing that your son, daughter and wife purchased it for you. I can't think of a better early Christmas present!

Just checked our weather forecast again and they are now calling for a low of 20 with 3 inches of snow tonight. I get to break the news to my wife that we may have to park at the bottom of the mountain and walk in. We could easily drive up to our house but coming back down in snow and ice can be bad. If we slide much at all we are off the narrow drive and fall down into a creek. I wish we would get a foot of snow like we did about this time last year. The high Saturday is supposed to be 38. Finally some real Christmas weather when we hopefully finish our Christmas shopping. I love it.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Merry Christmas! Happy 'Pines Day. Only three more Pines days remain until the end of the year. More importantly, only two more 'Pines Days remain until Christmas! Glad to see everyone could make it in today. Carl did a wonderful job with the decorations. He keeps outdoing himself week after week!

We've reached the midweek and are on the downward slope toward the weekend. I can't wait for the weekend. I was finally paid last night and I have some money to my name. What a change! Still, there are a few debts I had to pay off, so I did lose some instantly. It happens! I can't wait to be debt free with only my student loans to pay off. I am predicting that will be the situation by early January! It will feel like a late Christmas present, I am sure.

Kim and I had a nice evening in last night. We watched a couple TV shows and enjoyed our time by our Christmas Tree. It really doesn't get a whole lot better than that. Next Tuesday, I think we will spend it with some candy cane hot chocolate. Mmmm!

Not much is new here, otherwise. I guess I am looking forward to work being over so that I can get my haircut and head to the gym. Then, I will take Kim out for a quick bite to eat. The weather forecast calls for it to be a beautiful evening. Mostly cloudy, minimal winds with a high of -5c! Perfect for this time of year.

Have a great 'Pines Day, everyone!! Merry Christmas!

Good idea! I'll see what I can come up with.

And with this post, Vsuclaribnl is poster #27,000. WOW!!! For her efforts, she wins a photo of MY wedding dress from 1969 which cost, wait for it-----$80. Yes, $80.oo!!!

I would LOVE to see that dress, Seawaters!!!

Things are not going well here, yesterday had quite a setback. i feel awful. Yesterday we did however got our tree and decorated for christmas, which made me feel better since i am convinced he will be okay by christmas, and we will celebrate big time then, so he will feel better...

I hope everything is okay!!! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Hello all!

Just checking in real quick before going to take a nap since I work Hallmark tonight as well. We are expecting 2-4" of snow tonight, which I'm worried about since I have to work at 5am at Kohl's in the morning and I was unable to get my tires and brakes fixed before now (the appt is next Thursday). I can't really call in either because I'm the opening cash office person and that HAS to be done and I"m like, the only person who can do it who's working tomorrow. Of COURSE, lol! We shall see...maybe it will just stay rainy and I will luck out this time.

Things have been very busy here. I think a few of you have mentioned that you'd like Christmas to slow down...well ME TOO! I haven't even made out my cards yet so I'm very behind and I can't seem to catch up on laundry and cleaning and I get very frustrated. I'm really thinking about giving up my Hallmark job after Christmas is over, just because I feel like I never have any time anymore. It was going well when I worked every other week, so perhaps I will go back to that. Who knows.

Anywho, off to get a nap, then perhaps I will show my face for a few at the Pines before heading to Hallmark. :)

Good afternoon,Christmas family

Another day of work. I am very, very thankful for my job but I am starting to get a little upset. I was told when I first hired in that they have a Christmas party every year and that some invitations are sent. Well, I know it is just December 7 but wouldn't you think the invitations would be mailed by now ??

I guess I am upset because I was warned that the city my company is in is VERY SNOBBY. I am starting to think maybe I am not wanted at their Christmas party and that makes me very sad.

I don't know why, but I just had to get that off my chest. I work really hard and to think I am not invited really hurts. Gotta run, Christmas family. A Christmas Carol is on tonight with George C. Scott. (AMC - American Movie Classics) I am looking forward to it. My dear dad looked so much like George C. Scott it was unbelievable !!

((HUGS)) everyone ! xo:tree:

Good afternoon! Why is it when it's finally my most favorite time of the year - when I really want to log onto MMC & be all Christmassy with my friends, time is at a minimal!! I have missed being here the last couple weeks & I have missed you all! I hope everyone is doing well & enjoying all the fun stuff that comes along with Christmas prep!

Last night I went with my Mom/sister/sil/mil to see Kenny G! What a great show! It appears that he really enjoys people. He has a neat personality - very personable. I have been listening to his cd's since we left the concert! Such talent!

I'm looking forward to seeing you all in a few hours at the Pines!!!

I feel a little behind in Christmas activities this year, too. Kind of makes me sad. Anyone else feeling that way? I haven't even begun my family & friend's Christmas cards, haven't done much baking, movie watching, craft shows, trips to the mountain, etc. (all my usual traditions) and we're @ 19 days away from the big day! I hope life slows down a bit so we can enjoy the season. This year just seems a lot busier than most.

I am in the same situation, it is just hitting me how little Christmas stuff I have done this year compared to others :( The season is flying and just can't seem to find hardly a minute to enjoy the things I love most about the season. I don't even have my tree finished, its just sitting in the corner with nothing but lights on, at least the outside is done but still I always have the tree finished by Dec 1st, not this year.

Ahhhh, and I just realized that I hit 4000 posts!!!! Never thought I would get so far but I guess I talk a lot!!!

Congrats on the awesome milestone!

Prayers and thoughts going out to you and your family.

Don't let them get to you, it might just not have got sent out or some oversight, even if that is not the case remember that you have more Christmas spirit than any of those grinches! *hugs*

Good afternoon everyone! Hope everyone is in good spirits and having a great Wednesday so far!

I am kind of speechless today, looking at my Advent calendar and the only 17 days left thing hit me hard today. This is turning out to be a season that is flying by and I feel like I'm missing it.... wish things would just slow down a little.

Hope to catch some free time to catch up with everyone here later today.
Have a great day filled with Christmas spirit everyone! :tree:

Hey everyone, I'm back! I'm really jet-lagged and I have a bad headache, but I'm home. I see I have a HUGE amount of catching up to do! While I was in Ohio, I got Christmas pictures of my granddaughters. I bought the little one a tiny "Mrs. Santa" outfit and the 6 year old a red dress with a sequined sash. They looked adorable! I hated so much to leave them.

The funeral was sad (of course) but it was nice. The priest invited all the children to come up to the altar during the Communion Prayer. It was so cute to see all the kids up there--my parents had/have 28 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grands, and there were a little more than 20 of thegreat-grands there, plus the three youngest grandchildren. (Oh, and my daughter and her cousin, both grandkids but adults, to keep an eye on them and hold the two littlest ones.) They were really well behaved up there too. My mom said that my stepdad would have loved that--he was a really good grandpa. We saved personal reflections for the luncheon afterward--a very good idea, IMO, because I've been to some funerals that got derailed by an "interesting" personal reflection! My mom seemed to be doing better after the funeral. She put up her little tree right before I got there, so she's determined to have Christmas spirit.

Well, back to bed for me! Talk to you all later!

Anne
