Good Morning, MMC!!

It was so nice & cool outside earlier this morning!!
Fall is on it's way =]

Har & I sat outside on the patio & enjoyed it, while I drank some coffee & woke up.

It's still going to reach 100 today. But, not for much longer!

I just changed my screensaver to a Halloween one! Love this time of year. And I ordered some classic spooky movies & Legend Of Sleepy Hollow.

:pumpkin:

What are your plans today?

We've got some food prep to do before our friends come over. And I still have some dusting to do- I hate dusting..

For all of you suffering from allergies & colds, hope you feel better!!

Thinking of you all, my Christmas friends.

Have a great Sunday!

:merry:

You are so right, Sugar. Back in the 70s, I thought I was having a heart attack. On that day, I also read an article in Good Housekeeping about gall bladder attacks. I then realized that that was what was happening. I went to the base in Yuma to get checked out and told the medic what I thought, that I was having a gall bladder attack. He assured me that was not the case. The attacks grew worse and more frequent. Finally, in 1981, the attack was so bad that I had to go to the emergency room. I had surgery two days later. Not a single problem since then!

Gallbladder issues can very much mimic a heart issues. Anything heart related is always good to get checked out, as you said.

Glad to hear that is all it is with Mrs. Hilda.

We might have bad bosses, but we also have the best friends right here on this site and this forum!!!

Seawaters and merrycarey

I Honestly think you two have/had the worst boss,s ever.
But no one knows what is in front of them...and both should have been more understanding

Bing bing, we got our christmas freight coming in!!! I noticed we got our first shipment today, which consists of lights and wire reindeer :)

Merry Christmas to all & to all a good night!

Hi Christmasstar, My name is Tammy and I am mostly a lurker here at MMC . I read MMC everyday, actually...multiple times a day but rarely post. Anyway, I saw your post about burning your foot and just wanted to let you know that I am a registered nurse and we use.....don't laugh....Preperation H for burns instead of Silvadene Cream. It works great. If you burn yourself in the future...I hope you don't, but if you do , if you will apply the Prep. H as soon as possible, most of the time, it won't blister up and heals really quickly. It certainly wouldn't hurt to use it now, unless you're allergic to it, but it works best if used immediately. Just wanted to let you know that this is what we did for our patients when I worked at our medical clinic. Of course, if it is a severe burn or gets infected...see your Dr and follow his orders. Hope it heals quickly and doesn't hinder any thoughts of Christmas! Have a great day!!

Thanks for that input. I've never heard of that being used on burns.

Welcome to the Countdown! Post often! We would love to hear from you!

I missed it, too, CAH. I have not been on to listen for a while, but I had planned to do so on Saturday. Since I did not sleep at all on Friday night, I really had to rest on Saturday. I have even taken a short nap already this morning!

Okay, I went to bed around 5 pm just to watch TV but never got back up and was asleep around 8 pm. I didn't wake up until 7 am. I better be rested now!!!

I am sad I missed the Greasy Skillet again. I will try again next Saturday!

I am going to be super busy today. I hope you all have a Merry Day!!! :transform:

I had a Venti (sp) Peppermint Mocha this morning and it was a crisp 59 degrees (but it will get to 88 today - WOW). I know a month since my last post, I have been way busy. We are planning a huge vacation (for me anyway) we are going on a hiking vacation for two weeks, back to Bar Harbor Maine so we can really pull in all the trains at Acadia National Park and no rushing through them, this year we have gone to Sterling Forest as well and Bear Mountain here in New York. This winter we are planning a little skip to the Catskills.

Good to hear from you and hope you enjoy your vacation! Safe travels!

This Santa is the best!!! LOVE IT!!!

Good morning,

I slept like a rock last night, but the only real plans today is re-staining the swing set. We might take a walk down to another tag sale right down the street to see what they have. Here is yesterdays big find:

Have a great Sunday!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I have a pot of tomatoes, onions, garlic and a splash or two EVOO cooking down ~ smells yummy! I am hoping it will make a good base for cream of tomato soup, one of my favorite soups of all time. I still have a basket of cherry tomatoes to prep for drying. The first batch I did turned out yummy! I think the jalapeno jelly will have to wait until tomorrow, though. Time is going by fast and I haven't accomplished nearly what I wanted to yet.

A quick update on my neighbors daughter. She just got released from the hospital. They think it was a combination of the medicines that she was on that caused her to develop an ulcer and start bleeding. So after changing some of her meds and giving her 5 pints of blood they sent her home.

Hope she continues to get better. That's a lot of blood they had to give her. Thanks for the update.

Good Afternoon, friends~

Only one more day to get through before the weekend is officially here! Yay!!!

I have some excellent news I'd like to share! My husband (Adrian) & I are moving back to the midwest at the beginning of next year.

 :???:

He is being relocated for his job. His boss wants the charity that he is director of to have more of a centralized home base. He has homes in Nebraska & Wisconsin. And his foundation has released new food products that are being produced in Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. Proceeds of the sales go towards the charity. Adrian will be heading up the marketing of them.

We are very excited, it's a wonderful opportunity for him! And for us! Our families are back there as well =)

Can you say FOUR SEASONS?!?! We'll have snow at Christmas again!

My head is all over the place! Overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, excited! It's all happening very fast. But, it's fabulous news overall! We've wanted to get back for a long time.

We recently sold the house, and are renting until we move this winter. I will be going to Wisconsin to look at homes to rent in November. Adrian's two big charitable golf tournaments are in September & November, and they keep him extremely busy. I'll be doing a lot of the packing & preparing on my own. I'm already tired just thinking @ it, lol.

Plus, I also want to take some online classes during this time. =]

I turned in my resignation last Friday. I gave them four weeks notice.
It was kind of difficult, because I've been with my company for over six years. But, it's time to go... The future is looking bright!

:sparkle:

This is great news! Congrats! I am so happy for the both of you!

Get well quickly, MC!

Thank you! Trust me, I got this bug from Mr., not you! cheesy

Thank you! I believe they make special crochet hooks for people who can't grip regular hooks ... I know they make a little egg-shaped dingus that you can put around the shaft of the hook to make it easier to grasp. So I wouldn't count you out yet!
