You should get it =) It looks really awesome!!

I wish I had watched my dvr'd episodes before today & wish I had bought a Thomas Kincade lighted / double-sided tapestry!! The one I wanted was already sold out..

I'm feeling so nostalgic tonight ... had to run out to the grocery store, and it's so warm even though it's dark ... it was just like it felt when I was little and was walking home from the carnival, hauling a plush animal or two that I'd won, and half an elephant ear for my mom ... if I'd seen fireflies winking in the distance tonight, a couple of tears would have fallen. Yes, it was hot today, but there's warm memories tonight.

That is a beautiful memory, MerryCarey!!

You will have to let us know how it was !!!! Of course, I am not like a lot of the ladies.......my main "squeeze" in the movie is not Batman himself but Gary Oldman !!! xo I love him in almost every role I have seen him in. Of course my favorite was as Sirius Black in the Harry Potter films xo

Funny you should say that, because every time I see him (even in Disney's A Christmas Carol) I think of you! :)

Good evening, Christmas family

Oy-Yah WHAT A DAY !!

First of all, My biggest mistake is I got up today...!!

I went to log on at noon to work and I don't know what happened but all of a sudden, no internet and my computer was flashing a weird message. Of course I started scrambling to try and figure out the problem. It had been fine but not when I got on to work.

The modem went down and that meant I had no phone. I went to get my cell and realized my minutes had expired so no cell phone either. Great. I got on my cell and it let me call my provider and purchase more minutes (how convenient I could still purchase from my cell provider but nothing else). After all that I called work to tell them.

The cable company said they would have to send someone out. Great. That could take all day. By this time I was ready explode. There was nothing I could do but wait. The cable guy came at around 2:30 - 3 and had to replace all the wires on the outside of the house - seems they had WATER in them !!! he said a squirrel probably chewed it and that is how the water got in.

After he fixed everything I tried my computer again - No go. Still the same message. Something about the system configuration being corrupt and inserting a startup CD to repair the problem. I never HAD a startup CD with Windows XP. I called a couple of computer guys and they both said it sounded like the hard drive bought it.

My only choice was to use my new laptop. I typed a couple reports and realized the F keys or function keys had different assignments than "normal" so I had to call HP direct. I got someone who was definitely not adept at English and explained the problem as best as I could and they explained to me as best as they could what to do. Amazingly, it worked. The function keys were then behaving as normal function keys should so I began to type. It was already 4:30 by then and I had missed four hours of work. I worked until 9:30 so I just have 3 hours to make up from today but Yee Gads am I tired from all the stress..........Don't know why my PC just HAD to die in the midst of all this...........And that was my day !!!

Yikes! That is a rough day :( I'm sorry, CM3. It sounds like you thought on your feet & did everything you could. I pray tomorrow will be an excellent day for you. xo

I hope all are well and staying cool !! I did not watch any of HSN's Christmas in July but I am eagerly waiting for QVC's !!!

Big ((((HUGS)))) to everyone especially:

Hello all,
Yesterday was my first day back to work, and one day later my desk is a mess all over again, yuck I wish I could still be on vacation still.

Over the weekend on the hallmark channel they had Christmas in July movies, I watched a few, felt the Christmas spirit.

Good Morning, Center-of-the-Weekers!

Again we arrive at mid-week anticipating another visit to the Shispering Pines while wondering just what hijinks Carl has in store for us.
We can at least rest assured it will be entertaining and different!

Speaking of center, let's center in on this:
Days to the Season: 118
Days to Christmas Day: 160
Barely over 2 1/2 weeks now until our next Milestone, the 100-day Season mark, followed immediately by our first double-digit count of the year!
(Isn't this exciting?)

Not much point to mentioning the weather as there has been no change. More of the same old same old.
Not even a stray shower to break the monotony.
We read 77 degrees here, currently.

OK!
Each and every one of you be sure to drink your Ova......
(No, that's from something else)
Be sure to have a Wonderful Wednesday and a Vivacious Visit to the 'Pines today, OK?

So, here we are - Wednesday again. It's raining - what a surprise! It's also 54* and I've just had a fight with my boss and he's not speaking to me. Deep joy - not!!! Something went wrong and I told the truth and, as a result, landed him in it. Seemingly I wasn't supposed to lie; I just had to be economical with the truth. Now he's back tracking with those concerned saying that I didn't have the right facts so what I said wasn't entirely right - but it was. I'm sitting here in trouble but I haven't done anything wrong!!! I hate that feeling!!!!!!!!!!

Still, on the plus side, I've organised all my ecards for the exchange on the 25th!!! Point of note for all you getting one - keep watching it because things pop up at the end!

Hope you all have a good day!!

Good Morning MMC!

Got in around 10pm last night and did not have the energy for going through so many posts! I did read them all and thanks for all the messages about my new van. I will post a picture when it is ready to go.

Yesterday was the hottest day in all of Canada in Toronto, where I was. 36.8c or 98f but with the humidex it felt like 45c or 113f! The wind was hot feeling like standing in front of a furnace. I was so glad to be in an air conditioned vehicle. Even that had trouble keeping up with the heat.
Supposed to cool off some the next few days.

I work only 3 hours today, but starting Friday I have already been promoted to full time!!! Oh my poor feet, they will be in total shock.
:???:

Good Pinesday morning!

Yesterday my van showed the temperature was 101F. My friends laughed at me when I posted it on facebook lol. Reason why? We deal with celsius in Canada. BUT since I'm from Windsor we got all the Detroit stations. Just was brought up on Fahrenheit! Oh well. haha. Not much new. Going to go out for dinner with friends saturday evening! Meet you all at the pines in the nice cool pool! Have a great day!

Tomorrow's free movie is Alvin & The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. The doors open at 9am. Whose in?

I'm in! But I demand they sing their Christmas song! He he!

Maureen and Caninemom, sorry about how work is going. I hope things get better for you both!

Xmas366, Congratulations on 50,000 post!

You gals who make afghans are SO TALENTED !!!! I've tried in the past and failed ............

It takes patience and practice. I failed several times when I first started to learn - gave up a few times, too. One day I sat down, picked it up and started and something clicked and I was crocheting.

Hi Meceka !!! (((HUGS))) to you and your babies !! xo

Hi, CM3! {{{HUGS}}} back from all of us!

Don't give up on it ... there are LOADS of how-to videos on YouTube that demonstrate exactly how to make a starting chain and the basic stitches. After that, it's just doing it until it feels comfortable and you grow out of working too tight or too loose. The Snuggles Project accepts small crocheted blankets for shelter animals---they say on their website: "The Snuggles Project is a very good project for kids and people learning how to crochet, knit or quilt because the Snuggles don't have to be perfect. The animals love them any way they can get them. All that is required is that they be made with love." It's a great incentive to learn, a great way to practice, and at the same time keep some homeless animals snug and comfy.

Say ... if we ever have an MMC convention, I'll bring some yarn and a hook, and show you the basics!

Thank you for the link for the Snuggles Project!

Good heavens! Well, there's one bright spot: after a Day From H*** like that, today HAS to be an improvement! Hang in there!

Want to beat the heat (at least in your head)? Think about this. Today we are only 15 weeks away from Halloween. In my house that means less than 11 weeks away from decorating for Halloween. And, most importantly, less than 7 weeks away from the start of football season!

Wednesday hello! I hope today is less nuts at the office. I was told that late in the afternoon our "we need a new ad today" client called to make more changes to their most recent ad. (It had already crossed my desk eight times with various changes.) The account manager told him it was impossible because the newspaper had already gone to press. He wanted her to call the newspaper and tell them to stop printing! Yes, I'm ready to take a few days off!

It takes patience and practice. I failed several times when I first started to learn - gave up a few times, too. One day I sat down, picked it up and started and something clicked and I was crocheting.

See, caninemom3? Give it another try!

Thank you for the link for the Snuggles Project!

You're welcome!

Maybe Carl has popped the question to his girlfriend! Let me know!

I'll miss the Pines tonight---we'll be driving up to New Hampshire for a convention of a couple hundred Laurel & Hardy enthusiasts ... it should be a good time. Lots of movies, of course, plus a dinner cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee, and Mr. is co-hosting the trivia quiz (he wrote all the questions) and appearing on an authors' panel. The organization is called Sons of the Desert, after the lodge L&H belong to in the movie of the same name. (An unfortunate name in recent years---once the USPS looked at the return address on a package of newsletters and tore it open to find out if it was a terrorist group!) The organization was formed in 1965, and has met every two years for a convention since 1980. I met Mr. at the 1990 convention, and we announced our engagement at the 1994 convention. We've been too busy to attend since 1994, so there'll be a lot of catching up with old friends (and, sadly, missing some departed friends).

But the hotel has Wi-Fi, and I'm taking my Kindle Fire, so I can check in. Otherwise I'd have severe withdrawal ... I think I'm addicted to MMC.
