I have called out of work again today, my sinuses are killing me. Hopefully I will be able to return to work tomorrow. I may try to do some more decorating today, depending on how I feel. Also, awaiting for the snow to show up which will probably be tonight. I will try to find something Christmassy on TV, I may start seeing Christmas commercials now that the political ads are done.

Ugh, sinus pain is the worst! Hope you feel better soon. I think you're right about Christmas commercials--I saw my first of the season last night waiting for the concession and acceptance speeches!

Just checking in ... thinking of you all every day, even though I ducked out for a few days. I've been in a blue mood, and don't want to muddy up the cheerful holiday spirit here. I'm planning a visit to Russell's Garden Center this weekend to explore their holiday items and scope out a new artificial tree. I spent two solid hours browsing around there last year at this time. Hoping that will perk up my holiday spirits. (I noticed just today that Russell's runs banners here on MMC ... they have videos on YouTube, too.)

Another nor'easter coming up the coast for us today---not as severe as Sandy---and I have to work after-hours tonight, so I may be driving home in the teeth of the wind and rain. Rats.

Will be sending prayers where they're needed, plus one to bless you all.

As I am typing my brother in law, Jan is having open heart surgery. I wish I could be there with my sister while she waits for news.

I hope he does well in surgery and he recovers quickly.

Topside roast beef with mash, Yorkshire pudding, carrot and green beans. Roast potatoes and gravy, with a trifle for desert. Turned out pretty good considering I'm not the worlds best cook LOL.

Wayne and I celebrated his birthday all day Saturday. He got a few emails for free dinners at various restaurants so we went out for lunch and dinner and spent nearly the whole day going to different stores checking out Christmas goodies! We had the Christmas music blaring in the car most of the day, after I played the Birthday song by the Beatles! That might not sound like much of a birthday to those not into Christmas but we had a blast (I'm sure you all here at MMC understand)!

We were wild and didn't get home until 8:00 pm!!! Ha ha!

Not a whole lot else is happening. Today is my last Monday at my job. My second last day at the job. My contract expires tomorrow. I'm hoping that something comes along as soon as possible. I need money and cannot be out of work very long! Again, it's terrible to have two degrees and a diploma and not be able to find work.

I don't like it being dark when I get home. However, with daylight savings time, we have lots of kids waiting on school buses in the dark. At least now it is daylight. We had a bear approach some kids while they were eating and waiting on a school bus earlier this year. The kids didn't panic and knew what to do, (most of the boys had been bear hunting), but it could have been bad.

Glad they are all OK, living on Long Island you don't think of that kind of stuff!

I was at Target yesterday buying new lights for our Christmas tree. Whee! I can't believe we're putting it up this week!

YAY!!!! I still have yet to go get those lights I need, maybe Saturday

They turned out pretty darn good if I do say so myself.
Instead of making my own dough I finally tried frozen bread dough and it worked great. Plus I didn't have to spend all day waiting on the dough to rise.

What a great short cut!!! Thx for the idea

Good evening xmas chums! Been busy today trying to sort out some of the girls toys, I need to do a big clean out before chrstmas, ive decided that anything that still works and can be easily cleaned Im going to take into the hospital where I work for the childrens dept. I spoke to them today and they said they will accept toys which are made of hard plastic which can be sanitized.

Anyone heard from Snowflake lately? Havent seen her post in last few days??

Hi everyone, just checking in... Can you believe it is snowing now... UGH!!! OK that is my rant now onward I go.

How are you all, missed being around but I had forgotten to charge my tablet brought it today it is charging now so I'll see whats been going on and read the post.

PS. Update we were told between 1 - 10 days before we see power, um trying to stay positive it could be A LOT worse but it sure is chilly in the house, my poor little bird Floyd he is a budgie and well they need it to be warm, plus he is older, he is 8 he will be 9 in Jan. Oh my little guy hubby and I have him wrapped in a battery operated heating blanket, I worry about him. The kitties and Snickers with their fur I think they are OK and when we get home we put the stove on full force.

Hang in there. I hope it's closer to 1 day rather than 10!
