Christmas Countdown - 2012

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been checking in very often, but my laptop has been acting up a lot and my desktop is upstairs, which the kids and I don't spend too much time in, so right now, I've been checking from my iPhone.

After Christmas, I think we're going to purchase a new laptop. We've done Dell, HP, and now we have iPhones and I am actually getting an iPad for Christmas and love everything about them. For anyone who has a Mac, Coach, I know you still do, do you still like yours and is it worth the money?

We have the Christmas parade here in our town tomorrow night. We're looking forward. DH is on the honor guard for the fire department and EA and I will march for baton. It will be fun, but cold!

Good morning everyone.. we were lucky enough to get about 2.5 inches of snow yesterday. It was beautiful and the kids had a blast playing. Really put me in the spirit, big time!

Unfortunately, we lost our cat last night. We had to put him to sleep due to a urinary blockage leading to kidney failure. He's never been in great health but we tried to give him a good life. My poor husband was so close to him and is taking this hard. It's such a hard thing. It's very strange not to have a pet now. We've always had at least 1 pet since we have been together for the last 10 years but not anymore. I don't know if I can handle going through something like that again. I don't know that we will get another cat.

I think I have mentioned before how my youngest (son) LOVES all the old movies, especially the comedies. He has shown a love of these since before he was a teenager!!! I have given him a collection of the radio shows that feature Fibber McGee and Molly and a collection of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and some of Ronald Reagan.

If you ever come to Massachusetts, we'd have a lot to talk about, and we could give you a heck of a film show!


Estimates are that 80 percent or more of films from the silent era have been lost to decomposition, and many others have deteriorated while waiting for funding to be saved ... And it's not cheap. Seeing some that have been saved is a thrill.


Gotta run, we just got some new Fibber McGee and Molly episodes!

Update on Guinness, from his owner---good news!



Thanks to donations from co-workers, Guinness's owner only had to pay half the cost of the hospital stay.

What do you do with the puzzles when you finish them? I, too, would say it's the lighting!!! Good idea about taking it slowly. I am too! Which beach do your parents go to? It is good that you are flexible and can accommodate family members. That way, everyone wins!

good morning y'all! how's it?

i've been trying to do some online shopping here & there. been super busy @ work. working on a couple of projects for our open house Saturday.

i have 4 new Christmas puzzles & i'm still on the 1st 1. i'm embarrassed to say it but it's only 500 pcs. & i can't get it! let's just say my eyes aren't what they used to be & blame it on the lighting, yeah that's it...the lighting. lol

i still can't believe I sat around all weekend watching Christmas movies & doing nothing. my family had done so much prep for Thanksgiving it was like we were just give out & needed a break. we definitely got it!

taking things slow this season. planning things to do & not rushing through it all. i want to enjoy every minute of this wonderful time of the year.

made my baking list & what i need for it & buying a little along.
my b-i-l has to work Christmas day so we are changing things up a bit & having Christmas Eve w/ him & my folks. my rents will head to the beach on Christmas morning to be w/ my sister & the family there. we are going down the weekend before to spend w/ them. they can't handle us all @ the same time & my Mama & Daddy like to be w/ my great nephews Christmas day. it will just be me, hubby, & the kids Christmas Day. we have never done that so I think it might be nice for us.

I am watching A Charlie Brown Christmas....I couldn't choose !!! Charlie Brown is on one channel, Rockefeller Center is on another and there is also a special about The Trans-Siberian Orchestra on another channel !! So...I am taping the one on TSO, will watch Charlie then switch to Rockefeller Center to watch the lighting of the tree!!

How long does his "season" last? Does he get any time off for Christmas? Here's hoping he gets some kind of reprieve!

At 10:30 pm last night my sister-in-law still had not heard from my brother. He has drove for UPS for over 30 years. What a tough job! We all are enjoying the season but it sure is hard on those drivers and other workers who have to work extra hard during the Christmas season. My job is at its slowest this time of year, we get an Easter rush instead.

Hoping today is less busy than the last two, so I can catch my breath a bit. Business is very good at the office, but we're a smallish bunch, so we're all very busy. I'm the one and only proofreader, so it gets crazy sometimes.
