I have not had time to read through the posts but I know you have been praying, thank you.
Mom is home again, they could not figure out what caused this latest event. Suspect she may need more fluids also will be setting her up with portable heart monitor which they want her to wear for a week to see what is causing her heart to race at times thinking that may be the problem.

Also when we went into hospital at around 6pm all was rather green, by the time we left at 11pm I was knocking at least 2" of snow off the van! it all looks beautiful out now.

Going to bed, talk to you in the morning.

I'm glad your mom is home. I hope the heart monitor will help the doctors find out what is causing her symptoms and that it is nothing serious. I will keep both you and your mom in my prayers, Chrismtasstar! I hope you have a lovely day today! {{{hugs}}}

Hey everyone!!

:wiggy:I hope everyone has had a blessed and beautiful day!! We had a lot of wind, a lot of cold, and a lot of rain....but no snow. Oh well, it's all good with a cuppa anyway! I hate to admit this but this year I have been so busy that I haven't been able to keep up like I should and I didn't even know about the daily Christmas song thread!! I just discovered it TODAY and cannot believe what I have missed out on this year (particularly in the summer lol). I am busy catching up now:).

I would like to thank all of you who take part in MMC for helping people like me keep the Christmas spirit all year long. Even when I can't keep up I know there is someone (usually a lot of someones!) keeping the Christmas candles lit and the lights twinkling year round. When I first joined up three years ago I was a post-Christmas depressed, miserable wreck and I have truly found a place that makes me smile every time I come here! Thanks Jeff for creating such a wonderful place for us to gather and thanks to everyone else for being here. You guys rock and I love you all!!

Peace and blessings to you all!!:sparkle:

What a nice post, sprinkeshouse ~ peace and blessings to you, too!

Good morning, MMC!

The snow is done for now ~ ended up with about three inches. It is a mess out there ~ good thing I don't have to go out today. I do have to get the foot of the driveway shovelled out or else when the plow goes through it will be impassable.

Be safe, everyone, and have a most MERRY day!

Good morning, Christmas family !

Just taking a quick break from work here. It is very, very cold (26 degrees Fahrenheit) and we have LOTS of snow. I am not sure how much but it is quite substantial.

Thank you for all who encouraged me yesterday when I was so sad. I spoke with my sister yesterday afternoon which helped a lot. Today we bring Wishbone home but I am really not all that hopeful. I will of course DO EVERYTHING for him that is possible to be done but kidney failure on top of congestive heart failure cannot be a good thing in even a young dog and my Wish is 16.

Star - Praying for your dear mom xo

For anyone still sad about Christmas being over, I hear you, I feel you believe me. I will say a prayer for all of us who have this very real phenomenon.

Take care, Christmas family and stay warm !! xoxo

Be hopeful! You never know what could happen. This is the time of year for miracles. I will continue to keep you and Wishbone in my prayers. If he is anything like you, he should be very strong and can get through anything! :)

Try not to worry too much, as hard as that seems. I always say that worry is a waste of an emotion. It does nothing but puts a damper on your mood!

Stay warm and don't work too hard!

I just saw this post by someone on Facebook and it made me smile:

"Hey everyone, I am going to repeat myself here when I say that Christmas is NOT over!!! We are on the third day of Christmas and as you should know, there are a total of twelve days! I don't understand why people rush the season when it has JUST begun!!! Everyone stresses too much about preparing for Christmas and then by the time the holiday comes, they just want it over with. Stop stressing and start enjoying the season while it's still here!!!!"

I think everyone should have that same attitude, of course! cheesy

Glad your feeling a bit better today
And your be fine with wish,be glad hes coming home.
Give him a BIG hug from me

Still enjoying time off during this wonderful week. Looking forward to the new countdown. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning from a snow covered Western Massachusetts,

We got some snow last night, about 4 inches, it looks beautiful. I am dealing with the after Christmas blahs today, not the blues but probably the step before that. I am fighting it by having the MP3 player playing Christmas songs, watching Crazy for Christmas from the DVR, which I have 92 Christmas themed shows recorded. After I am done shoveling we will be watching Christmas movies probably White Christmas, and Holiday Inn. I just don't want this season to end, my trees and lights will be up and on until at the very least January 8, the day after my birthday. I do that because when I was a young kid I use to beg my parents to keep the tree up until after my birthday every year, I think they only did it once. Even then I loved Christmas as much as I do now, and didn't want it to end. While the world is leaving it in the rearview, it is still here for us.

Have a great day.

I have an extra snow shovel!!!
Yay!
I just got finished working and am having a terribly blue day. I think I am just going to sulk Wish comes home tomorrow but I am unsure about it. His BUN has improved from 129 to 69 which is good, but his creatinine and phosphorus are not that much better. His creatinine was 2.6 and is now 2.7. I cannot recall what his phosphorus is. Tomorrow I am going to learn how to infuse him with fluids here at home which are going to need to be done on a daily basis........If you read my blog from this morning, that is about how I have been feeling today. Take care Christmas family xo
So sorry to hear. I will be saying extra prayers for you and Wish.
That's a bummer. I just got done charging my remote controlled helicopter and one of the rotors on it won't spin. So I guess it's going back.
Remember, it's a toy, not helicopter to ride to escape all the snow. :D
And please keep us in your prayers for the trip to WI. I'm concerned about the roads, especially through mountains, etc. We're taking the southern route, so hopefully it won't be too bad. Flagstaff is a concern, as well as areas in New Mexico. I know my parents have had problems @ those areas.
Praying for a safe trip!
Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great Christmas...mine was wonderful...BUT me and Brandi just got back from taking her folks and mine to the Airport we had to go in 2 cars.lol I turn on the local radio in the car and BLAH...regular top 40 pop....I hate how radio staions do that all at once at midnight in the 26th they go back to business as usual..I hate that.. THank goodness for hallmark channel and xm radio on dish network,,they play Chrismtas movies and music until JAn2nd as it should be...I really break down on the 2nd of Jan...during the last movie or song on hallmark...I always make myself ,listen to it at 6am...I don't know why I put myself through it every year..Dec 31st is hard for me too...but so far so good!! I hope everyone else is staving off the blues...now I am goin to try to get the house back in order..I really miss my mom she was here since thanksgiving.! I go back to work on the 7th of jan.my oldest boy will be one(1) on that day too!....sigh....check in yall later!
Same here with our radio station. I am glad some TV stations are still airing Christmas movies!
EA seems to be feeling better. I think maybe I will make a homemade pizza.

I guess I spoke too soon...DH just got called out for a fire.
Glad EA is doing better. I hope DH stays safe out there!
  • The year without a Santa Claus
  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
  • A Christmas Carol (1999 & 1938)
  • Frosty the snowman
Great choices!!!
And, of course, I spent quality time with Mouse and Palmer
My furry babies have been getting a lot of quality time as well! It is so cold that they have been doing a lot of snuggling!
I'm staying away from commercial radio until then--I'm just listening to Pandora and my own Christmas playlists. (Funny thing, as I'm writing this, the song "Keep Christmas with You", from Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, started playing. Good advice that!) I hope everyone finds some special things to do this week, to keep the Christmas spirit going!

Anne
I love Christmas Eve on Sesame Street and that song! I will watch that show on my DVD even if the kids are not around.
Uh oh, CAH. Don't let Made hear you! He will definitely find something for you to do! You know that, don't you?
Looks like he already did. I will be shoveling snow! :snowball:
@ hospital with mom again , she is very weak and shaky, not sure what is going on. Please pray for her, thanks will update you when I get home
Praying for her! Keep us posted!
We did get some great deals, we bought 2 two foot tall trees for the boys rooms next year, 2 new stockings, and 2 nutcrackers. LC wants to collect nutcrackers now. His favorite gift from Santa Claus was the nutcracker he left him. It is so cute, he carries it around with him everywhere. Time for The Santa Clause 2 on ABCFamily, I hope everyone is still enjoying the Christmas Season.

ttyl

Merry Christmas.
How cute that he carried the Nutcracker around. Looks like you have a Mini Me with wanting to start a Christmas collection!
Nine houses on my street were lit up on Christmas Eve and yesterday. Tonight? Not one but ours. I just don't understand how people can go from being in the Christmas spirit for months and then suddenly just shut it off, act like it never existed, and move on once midnight strikes on the 26th. Once your birthday is over you don't stop celebrating with people at midnight on the dot and I am pretty sure no one says to you "It's 12:00, your birthday is over! You're not important any more! Time to move on!"

I am going to go turn on a Christmas movie and have some snacks!
Ha ha! Sounds about right, doesn't it?

I agree! This is a wonderful place to come and we are glad you are here with us!
Watched a christmas carol last night the one with patrick steward.
My favorite Christmas Carol movie!
Not to put a damper on things but be mindful that this thread will lock promptly at 12:00 AM (ET) on January 1. Get your posts in before then, Folks!
Why is it that I feel sad when the years thread is locked? I know that a new one is opened immediately! It's not like anyone is leaving but it just feels strange, for a very brief moment! I am so thankful for your Countdown Thread! :D
Good morning all! The wife and I did some more shopping after work last night to add to next years Christmas decorations ... Also she was able to replenish the Christmas necessities like wrapping paper, bows, tissue paper and the works.

Hope everyone else is staying in the Christmas spirit!
I still think I have plenty of wrapping paper and supplies to hold over until next year! I know I will still buy more that is discounted. =)

I was not able to make it back on here yesterday afternoon and got way behind.

I am glad that TV doesn't "rip away" everything Christmas on the 26th like it use to. They at least gradually take it away where we don't suffer from "shock"! We sound like a bunch of addicts that need to be weaned off of Christmas a little at a time. cheesy But do we really wean ourselves completely? No, we all have each other to keep it all year long!!!

Wayne worked earlier hours yesterday and was home in time to watch Elf with me on ABCFamily. I got tired of the, "After Christmas Sales" commercial so we decided to just put the DVD in to finish watching it. Well, right before I put it in we were treated to the, "Hershey Kisses We Wish You a Merry Christmas bell ringing", commercial!

Praying for all suffering the after Christmas blues. It's a real feeling, I have been there before. Just keep coming here for Christmas cheer! We are here to get you through it!

Good for you someone told me today christmas lasts as long as you want it to ~}}

Goooooooood morning! Hope this finds everyone doing well and staying warm. We didn't have hardly any melt yesterday, so it's still snowy and cold here. That's fine with us(especially the dogs)! It simply adds to the season.

I think we are going to do another one of our traditions today, which is our post Christmas shopping trip (there are usually two). Wifey is having ONE wisdom tooth pulled tomorrow (that's all of the wisdom they could find in her...hehe) so I want her to have a good day today. Plus, we need to get out...we haven't done anything since the this time last week (other than go to our parents), so we need to get out of the house...

Stay safe, stay warm!

Good morning, Christmas family !

Just taking a quick break from work here.

Me too!!! But it's like an all day thing for me... Get this, I got to work this morning and 80% of the office has called out today- No one's here!!! (of importance that is...)

I like getting paid to surf the Internet all day!!!

I woke this morning to hear a strange noise outside. I lay there for a time listening while my sleep fogged brain slowly cleared. Then I realized what it was! It was a snow plow clearing the parking lot across the street. We finally got enough snow to have to break out the plows!
:snowball::snowball::snowball:

I was happy to hear our local news station have a live band on their show this morning playing, Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

The only bummer last night, as I looked across the field, only one house lit up. The night before that there were 6 houses. Oh well, my house is still lit up!

Good for you guys in western Mass.---we've got pouring cold rain and wind here. Blech. Well, there's a chance we may get a couple inches Saturday night.

People around here are in such a festive mood!
362 days till Christmas and they all already have thier lights and trees up!!!
What more could we ask for eh!
