This is such an excellent idea, Made. Thanks so much. It really brings back memories, huh? It's sort of like looking at old home movies of Christmases past. Thanks for the memories!

Okay, All special posts have been copied into the new thread. I managed to cross the 100,000 posts mark while doing it to. So to celebrate, I'm going to take some Benadryl and go to bed. Goodnight, Everyone!!!!!!!!

Good Afternoon! Happy Pines Day!!!

Thank you for all the get well wishes for the children. They are much better. I am just having a break with some Christmas music, tea and catching up on here. I managed to put out a couple Christmas knick knacks out last night. My little one broke a small snow globe that Mr. Festive gave me when we first moved in to our house a few years ago :( It's a shame but atleast he didn't cut himself thank goodness. I can see it's going to be quite the challenge having tree and decorations up with my cheeky little monkey around!

I have so much to plan and get done, anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed? I love it though......makes it all the more exciting LOL!

Hope you all are having a joyful day!

Glad the kids are starting to feel better!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I apologize for my absence yesterday. Our network was down all day, and I'm the local "IT Assistant" for the real IT guys in Nebraska. I spent the day troubleshooting hardware, then replacing the switch. It's finally working, so I'm back.

Today is Elizabeth's 13th birthday! It's also our 19th anniversary! I can't believe Elizabeth is 13. I have a picture of her on my desk when she was around 6. If she jumped up on my lap today looking just like that, it would make me so happy. Not that I'm not happy; she's growing up into a beautiful young lady, inside & out. I'm so very proud of her, but I miss carrying her with one arm, or putting her on my shoulders for the long walk across the Walmart parking lot.

Ack! Ignore me! I'm just a little weepy at her reaching this milestone. I cooked her favorite omelet this morning, and we let her open a couple of presents before school. We'll have a big family party for her on Sunday after Nutcracker.

She has her full Nutcracker dress rehearsal this evening, and she's excited about that. It'll be a long night tonight. LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Happy Birthday to Elizabeth and Happy Anniversary to you and Nancy!

Good morning!
I was just doing a little bit of online Christmas shopping but I need to start moving and get some chores done. The online shopping is great but I could spend all day looking at things and that's not good! I think I'm going to head out to the stores this afternoon to do some more shopping. I have to keep chipping away at that list!
My daughter just texted me and told me she is coming home. She is still so sick. The poor thing. She's upset because she really has to be careful how many hours she misses in this program. It stinks!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Hope she gets to feeling better soon!

Good afternoon everyone! Happy 'Pines Day!

I have returned from a day of work. I received a call last night to supply for a physical education teacher. It was awesome! I think a Phys Ed teacher would be my true dream job. Unfortunately, I didn't take enough Science credits in university that would allow me to teacher Senior Phys. Ed. However, I would be able to teacher Intermediate Phys. Ed... I guess I've just discovered my next course!

On the way to and from school, I was able to listen to the most recent Merry Podcast. Jeff and company did another great job! So much new music. It was very enjoyable! I'm already excited for the Big Christmas Show next month!

As for this evening, I do believe Kim and I will be going to the gym as soon as she returns home from work. Otherwise, we have no set plans. Hopefully I receive another call for teaching in a couple hours.

Hard to believe we're only five days away from the final Rudolph Day of the year. Of course, there are only five more weeks until Christmas, too! Please, time, slow down! Let's continue to enjoy this Season, though, no matter how fast it goes!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone. Hope the 'Pines is treating you well. Carl is a hoot! Merry Christmas!

Sorry I haven't been on as much as I'd love to but this week is just crazy! I'm honestly very happy it's Friday soon. I submitted my survey earlier today and another massive assessment is on Friday. After that, I will be able to have a wee brake from intensive essay writing. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing fine! I went for blood donation for the first time tonight. I was a bit nervous but I'm glad I had my very supportive friend by my side. It went better than I had expected. I feel absolutely fine! It's nice to know that I might have helped someone. :]

Bittersweet memories. I even remember when I turned 13. I stood in front of my bedroom mirror and said out loud, "You're a teenager today." Funny what we remember as if it were yesterday. I also remember when my daughter turned 13. I had the same feelings as you. I, too, would love to relive those days when she was small enough to carry and would lay her head on my shoulder.

Happy Birthday to Elizabeth and Happy Anniversary to you and Nancy!

Ask the clerk for a large box from the back of the store, and hide it with the other boxes. cheesy

When my grandmother passed in 2006, we were told to go in and take whatever we wanted since we were the only living relatives in the area. I ended up with the Christmas village pieces, a bunch of musical Santas, and I had my hand on a vintage mid-60's Santa blowmold, but I decided against taking it. I regretted it from the moment I left. I can still see it on the fireplace with his warm glow right next to that "chirping ball" that I guess was a fad. I finally bought a Santa blowmold this past summer, but it will never have the meaning my grandmothers had.

That was so nice of you to hold onto your grandmothers Christmas treasures. I did they same thing. When my grandmother passed away, my grandfather told me to clean out the attic and throw everything away. All of their Christmas decorations were up there. I asked him if I could have them and he gave them to me. I put out some of their old decorations every year, to honor them and to also keep my memories alive of all the wonderful Christmases that I had with them and with the old decorations.

Lisa and I also started a tradition by placing an ornament from her grandparents Christmas tree and a ornament from my grandparents Christmas tree, on our tree every Christmas to show our love for them and to keep our memories of them alive....

I almost forgot, my extra 2 weeks are up. I can finally stop wearing that crazy aircast boot around the house!!!!!!!! Now lets see if I can get through the next 6 weeks without causing any pain in it. (I highly doubt it)
it is so nice to be free of supportive devices! Just tread carefully, that is what I have to do. Most all my pain is gone now and yours will be too!

Good morning, Christmas Aficionados!

Well, the sad news (though exciting, too): my daughter leaves for San Diego this Sunday to start life anew after graduating college. San Diego is a mere 2,995 miles from "home" :(

The great news: she has already purchased her airline ticket to come back for Christmas, arriving on the 22nd and staying until the 27th.

"I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays" will play a special part in our Christmas 2013 celebrations, to be sure.

Have a great day, all...and give a loved one an extra hug today :)
the bittersweet moments of life, so necessary, no heart rending. Glad she can come home for Christmas!

sounds like you are a very busy lady. Congrats on becoming a blood donor, nothing to it, I have done it for years.

Well another crappy day here. I got a call shortly after 11am from one of my mom's coworkers saying that they thought she was having another stroke. She wouldn't let them call an ambulance, so I rushed up to her work and took her to the ER. After another round of tests, they decided that it was another TIA and they decided it was safe to send her home. I didn't agree with the last part since she still couldn't walk on her own and was having a hard time swallowing. They said she would be fine though and sent her home. Now that we are home, she does seem to be doing a little better though. So hopefully she is back to normal by tomorrow morning.

that is scary, been through that with my mom. I am shocked they would send her home before making sure she had recovered. I hope someone can stay with her until at least morning.
Praying for you both

Great news! I trust that you can do it! :-D

Prayers for you and your mom! Take care, friend!
