Wow is it ever raining outside at the moment. We even had a few flashes of lightening as well. The more that the remnants of Hurricane Patrick passes us by the warmer it is becoming. It's 65 degrees right now and whew, I had to put the ceiling fans on so to cool it down just a bit in the house. We went out to the wholesale club and did some serious stocking up tonight, now, watching a little bit of the debate then heading off to catch some zzzzzz's..
Crazy weather. I ended up having to turn on the AC last night! Maybe was from cooking chili in the house, but it was warm!! I'm sure it won't last much longer, so I'll enjoy! ;) Have a great day xmas!

Oh Holiday, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'll be praying hard for your SIL and your entire family. Sending hugs your way.
xx
Thanks so much HMG! Hugs & prayers are much appreciated! You all are awesome!

Our local weather update from 2 hours ago was that rain has turned into snow, but our commutes shouldn't have been affected tonight, and won't be tomorrow since we're well above freezing, and will stay that way???

We have been at freezing!!!

And a few hours ago local weather said that snow would stop around 1:00 AM, now it's saying 5 o'clock AM. I am pretty sure that it's going to get colder between now and then, and that we are going to accumulate more than a half an inch like originally predicted.

Amazing
Geez!!! Hope things were running smooth this morning!!! xx

Good evening,

I was quite busy today on my day off. Had to get the house ready for next week and the start of Christmas decorating
I am having trouble keeping my eyes open..
Goodnight, everyone.
Hope your day at work goes well!! xx

Good morning!!!! It's a warm day today - 74! Very weird! Going shopping with my grandmom this morning while the kids are at school. I am going to pick up some gifts and Christmas lights. Then we are taking Noel out to lunch after we get him from school, he will be so excited!

The weatherman last night said he was going to be putting up his lights outside next week because we have a few days of 70 degree temps. I think I'll do the same!! YAY!!
Sounds like a great day! Enjoy time with your Grandmom & Noel!!
Putting lights up next week when it's supposed to be in the 70's is a great idea. I'll mention that to my hubby. I can about imagine his response...

Have a fun day!!

Good morning MMC!

Off to work on this weirdly warm Thursday--it's over 70 again here today. Two days ago was so chilly, and now it's humid and way warmer than it has been. I keep wearing a jacket outside only to realize I've overdressed! Taking advantage of today and wearing a sundress with a sweater over it to work. Can't believe I'm saying that with two days until Halloween...strange weather!

Today should be fairly normal. I'm pretty tired after this week though, so I'm looking forward to relaxing and having a good weekend with just a touch of travel Friday night into Saturday morning. Why is it always the weeks after vacation that knock you on your bum? Hopefully we'll catch up soon and be able to get back to our routine! It's been just good that I've gotten out of the apartment with shoes on this week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday! Friday and weekend, here we come!
Enjoy your warmer weather! Nice!! I hope you can catch up & have a relaxing weekend!!! Have a fabulous Friday Eve!

Good morning, HMG!
Thank you ❤️
It has warmed up to 36°, so I'm praying that there won't be as many slick spots. There is still a snow/sleet mix coming down.

Hope you have a wonderful morning!
It's just hard to imagine looking out my window right now & seeing sleet/snow!!! Stay safe my friend!

Good morning!
Happy Thursday!
Not too much going on here today, I just have to run to the supermarket for a couple of things. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores. The crochet class that I signed up for is later tonight. I'm getting a little bit nervous, I hope I catch on and don't embarrass myself! That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Ohhhh, you will have a blast tonight. So exciting. You'll do great! Have a good day & a fun night!! xx

Good Morning. I went for a job interview yesterday during my lunch. It was with my previous company that I worked at about 6 years ago. They have a position open for a senior level plumbing engineer and it seems like a perfect fit/ match. The one owner I interviewed with, said he would hire me on the spot, but he needs to discuss it with the other 2 owners before a definitive yes or no can be given to me. He said I should hear something today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed....
Wow! Exciting! Good luck!

Good Thursday Morning MMC! We currently have 64 degrees under mostly cloudy skies with a forecast high temperature of 70 degrees under partly cloudy skies. It almost feels like late summer out this morning. Wow but we will chill down for Halloween and feel normal to even a little below-normal for it. Puts everyone in the spirit before like many of you...a nice warm-up next week.
Thursday err...Friday eve (sounds better) is here. It's Halloween Eve Eve...2 days till the big one (well the first one that kinda leads us into the major big ones). I plan on handing out candy on the weekend (and eating some)...and watching a lot of Halloween shows. I watch them well into November also but will start my Christmas watching as many of you have said you will on November 1. Gives us 2 good full months to watch whatever we want.
Hope you all have a good Thursday. Keep thinking about Halloween weekend. Talk to you guys later!
Friday Eve sounds MUCH better! :D Hallmark keeps advertising that their Christmas movies start on Saturday but according to the tv guide they actually start Friday night at 10:00! Woo Hoo! So excited!
Have a great day Edge!

Good afternoon, guys! I am checking in briefly from work before going to have some lunch. Weather over here is dry and the more mild than it was yesterday. The autumn colors are really becoming evident right now. It's beautiful.

Have a great day, everyone.

Hope your day is going well Coen! Enjoy the fall colors! Happy Friday Eve!

Good Morning, Friends.

Things are really starting to get frightening.
Just take a look at the latest numbers batch:
Days to Halloween: 2 (Why! That's the DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!)
Days to the Season: 15 (TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 57 (EIGHT weeks from tomorrow!)

(Things are starting to get as scary as Carl's haunted wing tour last night!)

Warmer yesterday with lots of humidity. The rain tapered off somewhat but was still present. I'm looking forward to a clearer and sunnier day today.
It has begun at 65 degrees here in our part of MMC. It's very damp but no sign of rain.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Folks.
(Closing in on Weekend Eve once again!)

Thanks Crown!

Indeed, and with leap back day approaching, I can just sleep on my costume!

But Folks, on to a serious topic.
<< Well, what could be more serious than sleep, Crown? >>
You've got a point there, little voice.....

The Season start date (Nov 13) is rapidly approaching. It's time to begin serious thought about our five-day Special Post series! In years past this has always been a top highlight of the days immediately preceeding the Christmas Season beginning.

Now, we already have one signed up: Christmasstar, who requested any date. I assigned her to Nov. 10, Day 3 before the Season.
I will assign Nov. 9 to Binger, their long-standing traditional day, unless they want a change. Bing?

That leaves Nov. 8, Nov. 11 and Nov 12 open for any first come-first served writers.

Check out last year's thread to get a feel for what this is like, if you haven't been here in years past. Great fun, wonderful sentiment and a perfect lead-in to Season Day one!
Hard to believe it's closing in on the time for the special posts. WOW!!!

But sooooo exciting!

Bless her heart, sending up prayers for her now.
Thanks so much Brad!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

The kids will be in competition with their one-act play this afternoon, so I'll be leaving work early to attend. I told Jacob that while he's playing the banjo on stage, he needed to play a bit of "Dueling Banjos" from the movie Deliverance. I bet that would draw a laugh!

When we get this competition behind us, maybe we can focus on Nutcracker even more. I'm really excited to see that again!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Good luck to Jacob & Elizabeth today!! I have no doubt it will go great!!!

Don't worry about it too much. Everyone there will be a beginner. And most of crochet is "make a loop, then pull a loop through another loop(s)." Once you have the hang of it, you'll be happy you started. Don't be discouraged if your work looks uneven at first. If you keep at it, you'll develop a feel for the proper yarn tension, and it'll be second nature. If you make a blanket that looks uneven, don't throw it out. Some animal shelters accept them as cage cozies for their dogs and cats. Looking forward to your first project!

I haven't seen the Nutcracker ballet, but I'm familiar with some of the music---and this year I discovered TWO ragtime versions of music from the Nutcracker! One of them especially makes me smile whenever I hear it.
