My uncle's surgery went pretty well-the cancer hasn't spread into the lymph nodes.
However, they had to remove more of the lung then they had originally anticipated.
They had to take the entire left lung.
They are biopsying everything they removed, hopefully that comes back good as well. If so, he will begin the recovery process.

I hope you get the best possible news, and that he will have a quick recovery.

Then feel guilty knowing Noah and Dana will come in later this evening and go, "Aaaawwwww you took the tree down? Aaaawwww maaaan!" Bud will come home and say, "Aawww baby I'm sorry. You could have kept it up you know! I don't mind! Anyone wants to say something they can deal with me." LOL

We take very short "walks" in this kind of weather, and wait as long as we can so it warms up a bit as well. Poor Harlowe lasted about 3 minutes before she was lifting her paws. I always pick her up & head home when that happens. We'll try again later, poor thing. I wish she didnt need to, bless her heart.

Poor girl!! And I could not get my wild girl in the house to save my life this morning. She wanted to PLAY in the snow!!! I was late getting to work (not a big deal, I'll just stay a few minutes late to make it up....) but she was being an ornery little booger this AM!!! Of course we have a heat wave here at 7º compared to your negative numbers.

I hope everyone is having the kind of weekend you looked forward to on Friday!

Well, Christmas is sleeping in its boxes until the season rolls around again. I did bring out a little one-foot tabletop tree and put a string of white mini-LED lights on it as a winter accent. I'm bone-tired from packing things away and running up and down the stairs. I was playing some Christmas music, but the playlist ran out, and now I can hear the rain pouring outside. It's supposed to get very windy a little later. A good afternoon to just hunker down and relax. We did our errands yesterday so we wouldn't have to go out in the weather today. We'll probably heat up some leftover pizza in a little bit and put on a movie or video.

If we win the billion dollars (yeah, as if ...)---after investing and budgeting in a way that will allow us to retire---we'd go to visit Gloria, and I'd make sure we go to the MMC meet-up in Pennsylvania on October 1st. Not very exciting plans for a billion dollars, but if I could make those two trips this year without upsetting our finances, it would be almost as good as having a billion. I'd like this to be the year we once again have two steady incomes.

Unfortunately, football is done for me this year. I won't watch another game, just have to hope the Patriots lose so I don't have to listen to the fans around here.
I am so disgusted by last night's game, I already put my Bengals hat away. I usually wear it for a week after the season ends just to show I am a proud fan. Not this year. I am breaking out my new Bruins hat I bought a few months ago but have never worn.

I haven't talked to my sister that was at the game...I'm sure she will have something to say about it too. How disappointing!

Good evening,

A nice lazy day of nothing here, I had to prepare myself for a day of ridicule tomorrow.
Got to watch Elf today, it was on Comedy Central, just glad to see Christmas movie still on.
My trees are still up, I should have started taking them down today, just really didn't want to. They just make me happy, I love them.

I must get ready for bed, I overslept yesterday. I woke up 3 minutes before the time I usually leave for work. Then not getting home until 1230 this morning, I am beat.

If they make you happy, I say leave um up! My sunroom tree will be up for awhile yet. I'm thinking about NOT re-decorating it in blue/silver for winter...I'm just really enjoying it the way it is yet!

Work was fine yesterday with no drama thankfully. I was uneasy because of what took place the last two sundays but it was an eventless day.

I am so sad this morning about Bowie. (((Hugs))) to anyone else heartbroken about his passing.

So happy you had an uneventful day at work. Would be a terrible feeling to feel unsafe at work. Prayers for all safe days ahead!!!
I just heard about Bowie. Sad indeed!

Good morning, snowflake! -16°?!? That's just too doggone cold, try to stay warm! And I'm glad you got some encouraging news about your uncle!

Good Morning everyone! Not feeling great today-woke up with a sore throat and headache. That's okay though-my word for this year is "rejoicing," so I'm going to stay positive and pick up some probiotics and OJ at the store to try and fight it off as I head into work!
I hope you all have a great start to your week! Safe travels for all of you in places where the weather has been bad. We don't have any of that yet, and no real chances of it happening in the future so far. Take care and see you after work!

By the way, still some lights out this morning when I went running. There's a few houses I'm keeping an eye on because they have their lights on every morning still. Keeping the Christmas feel going into mid-January.

A neighbor still has some lights up, too. I had to take mine down, but I smile every time I see theirs.

I was talking to my friend at work, who has a chocolate lab, and same thing with him. After being out there for 5 minutes, he started lifting his legs, and then they gave out. The extreme cold doesn't work with them either, bless their hearts.
Har still wants out, but it's not safe for very long.

Hopefully it'll be above zero at lunch!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's chilly here in the southeast, but not as chilly as some you Yankees, from what I'm reading here. It was 26°F when I got in my truck. There was so much ice on the windshield, I couldn't drive. I don't have an ice scraper, so I had to wait for the defroster to work. I was just a little late for work, but I beat the boss here, so that's what matters.

I worked on the Camaro's interior for a little while on Saturday. Hopefully, I can get to it this afternoon, too.
