Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning MMC! Happy Hump/Pines/WednesDAY! So far we have sunshine this morning but rain is supposed to be moving in soon. Darn! It's so nice out right now!

We had a blast at the garden centers. We were able to go to 2 in the time we had. It was a good thing we didn't have time for more b/c the back of my sisters truck was packed full....and we had to put 1 hanging basket in the back seat! LOL! Fun, fun, fun! Beautiful flowers. BUT I paid for a 4" pot & a pack of flowers & left them sit on the table behind the checkout. So now I guess I have to go back. Ha ha! My friend wants to go so we may take a drive after work tonight or tomorrow! They are so cheap compared to garden centers around here + the flowers are so healthy & the pots are so gorgeous!

Flowers make me smile!!!

They remind me of the flower gardens my grandparents had ... so lovely and colorful in the spring and summer. Roses, pansies, chrysanthemums, four o'clocks, bleeding-hearts, petunias ... and my grandfather could take anyone's sick African violets and make them healthy and blooming again.

Today started out with sunshine blazing down.. I decided I was taking the kids and the boat to the lake. 10 minutes later its pouring rain..and to top it off..the internet went down yet again. Off to Starbucks and dvd's

Today started out with sunshine blazing down.. I decided I was taking the kids and the boat to the lake. 10 minutes later its pouring rain..and to top it off..the internet went down yet again. Off to Starbucks and dvd's

We went out to eat afterward too!

If we had to do it all over again we would choose the same. Best decision we made. We were able to purchase our home a few months after we were married. Getting on the property ladder in England is hard especially around back then during the start of the recession.

Sounds like you have very cherished memories of that day. I am sure it was beautiful! ♥

I can't think about it without smiling. The justice even took photos for us. It was a wonderful afternoon! We didn't actually "elope," because we were engaged and our friends and family knew it, but we did have the ceremony privately on our own without announcing it. It was perfect!

The heatwave begins today. We are currently at 12C and may reach up to 15C by late afternoon!!! Temps are expected to reach as high as 17-18C for the rest of the week!!!!! The warmth and sunshine is so uplifting.

It is 61 wet degrees here currently, as we prepare to leave for Asheville.

I love garden centers, too. The one I go to is a small one a few miles from where I live. The lady that runs it is slowly building her business. If I don't get over there soon, she'll be out of the herbs I want. Her plants are gorgeous and produce well so her stock goes fast!

3 more night shifts! With no projects to do at work, I've just been watching movies. I know it sounds nice but I like to keep busy so its driving me crazy. I think tonight I'm going to watch "Santa with muscles" starring hulk hogan..its awful.

Here's another awful one: "Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever." We got the DVD in a bargain bin, and I watched it Monday night. It could have been a better movie, but having Grumpy Cat pop up frequently to diss the movie while it's in progress keeps you from enjoying the movie on any level---you can't get into the story, and the "funny" interruptions become annoying.

I have some photos of their flower garden from way back when ... I think I need to pull them out and look at them again. And flower beds around the house and the sheds ... so many flowers. And a HUGE vegetable garden. Me, I can't keep a house plant alive!

Last night I bought my Mom a hanging fern to go with the flowering baskets my sisters bought for her, she'll hang them on hooks around her deck. And I bought my MIL a hanging flower basket. Ready for Mothers Day! (actually Mom already has her fern)

The garden center you go too sounds very nice. I like the smaller centers sometimes - they are more organized. Both that we went too yesterday had 3 green houses - very nice & pretty organized! I hope you can find all the herbs you are wanting!!
