Morning edge. Yes, this time of year we all wait for and then it just picks up speed everyday. I am off today, but that is due to my normal rotation at work which finds me off on Sundays and Mondays (which will be a huge advantage this year since both Christmas & New Year's Day are on a Sunday). If you are off today have fun. Looks like to called yesterday's game on the money.

I got 9 picks right this week (tied with 3 other people in the league at the top). Giants bailed me out with that late td though to cover the spread. They all had GB...kept me tied with them with the draw.

Good Morning, October Holiday Anticipators!

And indeed this is the time of year when we look forward to a veritable string of holidays - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
It's also the time when we traditionally add a count number!
As such:
Days to Halloween: 21 (Three weeks from today!)
Days to the Season: 34 (Under 5 weeks away!)
Days to Christmas Day: 76 (Now under Eleven weeks left!)
Time is really starting to get away from us, Folks.
(It's not too early to start thinking about those holiday plans!)

With the hurricane now behind us, and the yard cleaned up, we can return to more normal weather reporting, and it involves a cool turn. Felt really autumn-like here yesterday, sufficient that a light jacket was called for much of the day.
(Now that really starts one to thinking about the holidays!)
We have 51 chilly degrees here currently this morning and a dry (and CALM! day) is predicted.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everybody!
Thanks Crown! Happy Columbus Day!

Happy Thanksgiving to our friends north of the border!!!

Happy Columbus Day to everyone here in the states!!!

To all of those across the pond, I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Merry Monday and Happy New Week to all.

Hope you all are enjoying Columbus Day over in the states and Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends.

Beautiful day here. We are enjoying a spell of dry weather. We have only had the odd shower through the night here and there. I could get used to this :)

Have a great day!

Have a great day Festive!

Good Monday morning! Happy Thanksgiving/ Bonne Action de Grâce to my fellow Canucks. I'm working later today. In French Québec, Thanksgiving is not really celebrated, it's more of an anglo tradition. At work we're getting more and more Christmas merchandise now, I'm so excited! An employee was singing a mock version of Jingle Bells yesterday, made him laugh when I told him he was singing my favourite song (not really my favourite but hey, it's a Christmas song). We already have raised 80$ to buy gifts for families in need in just two days, it's going right along. Wishing everyone a fantastic day!

How exciting about the merchandise at work. The shops have got their Christmas departments opened here now. Great job on raising money so far. Have a great week.

Morning all!! Happy Columbus Day...which begs to answer the question. Since the Indians were here way before Columbus why isnt it Happy Native American Day? Or if its for explorers...why isnt it Happy Viking Day since they hit the shores before Columbus?

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

When I got up Saturday morning, I had no idea the extent of damage our community suffered. We had power, but apparently the block we live in was the only spot of electricity in our county. Electricity was available 45 miles west of us, but nothing any closer to the coast.

There are huge trees down across roads, highways, power lines, cars, houses...it's such a mess. I'm thanking the Lord that we had minimal damage at home. Some big tree limbs down, some damage to the house, but that's about all. Across the street, trees are down, crushing storage buildings, and falling on at least one house.

I worked at Bernie's store Saturday (it's across the street and still had power), helping him serve the HUNDREDS of people flocking there for gas, water, ice, everything. Someone posted on Facebook that he was still open (and I shared it LOL), and he got slammed. All the gas sold, water, meat, bread. We made at least 250 pizzas for people who couldn't cook. It was crazy!

I worked yesterday getting generators for mom, to keep here freezers running, and getting her a lamp and the TV working. She and my brother have been coming to the house for showers.

Our pastor had come to our area to help with cleanup. He was in his truck with a generator to loan, chain saws, etc. He was rear-ended trying to get to the church, and ended up with a broken nose, his son had a dislocated shoulder. It's just a shame. People out driving, looking at all the damage instead of at the road.

I can tell you, we live in a rural area where guys hunt & fish all the time, and we're still not prepared for lack of power and phone. I've never really been much of a "prepper" before, but this has given me cause to look more closely at getting prepared for the next one. Whew!

Power is slowly being restored around our area, and of course they got power back on here at work LOL, so here I am. I appreciate all the prayers for folks in the path of the hurricane.

Now that the storm is gone, the weather is perfect!! Sunny and 50°F this morning!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Glad you made it okay Brad. After 23 yrs of living in a hurricane zone, I still am prep'd for the worst weather conditions and lack of electric.

Morning NcGunny. a Happy Columbus Day to you. Just a guess, but I suppose if old Christopher had not kind of started the exploration and eventual migration from Europe to the Western hemisphere, none of us would be here right now... :)
I'm guessing the Vikings did not like what they saw, because they did not stay... lol.
Have a fun day and week.Merry Monday.jpg

Greetings Bradmac. It never ceases to amaze me how one house is severely damaged and another nearby has little or no damage. No doubt that the Lord watches over all of us and brings His love and gifts of protection to many. Add to that the spirit of love, charity and generosity He gives to those of us who have been spared and you see it magnified with the time and resources shared with those less fortunate. You are an example of that.
Have a great day and week.

Good morning ~
Happy Monday!
Just took Maggie for a walk. It's going to be a beautiful day, sunny with temperatures in the upper 50's. Not too much going on here, just a typical day of errands and chores.
I hope everyone is well and has a great week ahead!

Howdy there HMG. Looks like most of the MMC world is having a really nice day weather wise. I'm all in favor of that. Errands and chores also looks to be number one as well. I hope you enjoyed your walk, have a Happy Columbus Day and a beautiful week.

Happy Columbus Day to all our MMC family, those I have already posted to and those who I hope to get to later. Today is my forth day off (took two vacation days on Friday & Saturday), so I guess there is no good reason why I should not get a few things done around here.
We did not make it to the zoo, but Connie is feeling much better and since it is her birthday, she is sleeping in and I will depart shortly for the errands need to finish the days chores. We are going to a friend's home for this evening. Pizza and cake are on the menu and I will add a couple of treats of my own.
I send my best wishes to you all for a great day and week. Enjoy and don't forget to stop and smell the... BBQ!
Here are the events for today...

Okay, I added the last one.
