Merry Monday and another official Christmas season has begun! My daughter and I watched Elf last night, I just love that movie. Typical day for me of work and I need to get to the grocery store later. Looks like it is going to be a nice day with lots of sun. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it!
Hope you all have a great day!
Hope you're having a great day!

I found some Star Trek Christmas lights! These are sooooo AWESOME!!@@!!

http://www.geekalerts.com/star-trek-christmas-light-set/

I can't let DH find out about this or I'll have them at my house! He has every Star Trek Hallmark ornament made since 1991 (25th anniversary), but will never but them on a tree! I told him he can have his own tree in the new man cave. No one would mess with it & he has plenty of ornaments to fill up a tree.

I've been listening to Christmas music on satellite radio since November 2nd & even watched two Hallmark Christmas movies yesterday that I hadn't seen. I wrapped gifts from Santa for DD on Friday. Still, I'm having trouble getting excited about Christmas. I'm really wanting to get our main tree up, but that won't happen until at least Thanksgiving night, but no later than the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I'm glad that DD is still a believer in Santa at 11 years old, but afraid that she's going to be made fun of if she doesn't find out the truth. Neither DH nor I want to tell her, so we're just letting her take the lead still. I guess I just have to get myself in the right frame of mind to get into the Christmas Spirit! Merry Christmas to all!

My Star Trek ornaments go up on our tree, but Nancy always moves them to the back side while I'm sleeping?!

:D

Hello everyone. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a little over a week away.

We put up the outside Christmas decorations yesterday. It was an all-day job. We are planning on doing some more as well. We have the santa sleigh and reindeer blowmolds and we plan to put them on the roof this year. We actually went and bought 3 more reindeer to give the illusion of 8 reindeer.
Does anyone have any suggestions for attaching blowmolds to the roof? If so let me know!

Thanks Buddy...Good to see you on the countdown Snowflake22 (((Huggs)))....Hope you guys have a merry evening ahead and weekend buddy-holidays-

@prancer Thanks, buddy~
Thinking of you! Hope your daughter can rest peacefully, and get well soon.

Special Post (One more day!!!)

There are many words we can use to describe the Christmas Season. I, for one, prefer to rely heavily on a few. The feelings anticipation I experience all year when thinking about Christmas is absolutely incomparable to anything else.

The feelings of joy and excitement that overcome me when I walk into a store and see my first Christmas item or ornament, or put up my first Christmas decoration while listening to Christmas music in my home have such a heartwarming, yet teary-eyed feeling of anticipation.

The Christmas Season is one day away...

Beautiful, brent!
Thank you, and Merry Christmas!!

Merriest of greetings y'all!

Please excuse my unforgivable absence. Many times when I should surely have been here spreading cheer and catching up with your plans, memories and every day conversations; I found myself unable to calm my mind long enough to simply enjoy reading and posting.

It's been a challenging year for me. So much going on and then when I found I had a bit of time to spare, I was so exhausted I would just relax with the cat on the sofa or catch up when I could with a few members on FB. You don't have to think much on Facebook.

I'm pleased that the across the creek neighbours turned their lights on last Tuesday and I found Eggnog at the grocery store today to remind me that the season is upon us and it's time to make merry with my festive chums.

I know a few of you have lost loved ones, family members, pets and others have welcomed new babies and grandchildren into your lives; sorry I wasn't here for you.

Not an evening slips by when I don't extend special wishes and prayers for the members here, some of those thoughts are generic while others are quite direct and purposeful when I know you're searching for comfort through your sadness and struggles.

On a happy note, I'm still as much of a Christmas Wacko as I ever was it's just that I haven't been in the right frame of mind to stay connected. I'm fine; just busy with work and life.

I shall endeavour to pop around this merry way more often as we approach Christmas with glad hearts and perfect strangers who have become friends through our shared joys of all things Christmas.

Keep a merry thought in your head,

Great to see you, AMD!
Thinking of you, and your family. Sending prayers up.
Life and it's events take us away at times, but we always return.
Sending hugs to you & O'Malley!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

A very pleasant Saturday morning to one and all. First of all, how was the concert? I have no idea. When I woke up around 4PM, Connie let me know that our daughter had really wanted to go and did not say anything due to the ticket cost. What could I say except have a fun Mother/Daughter evening. So I stayed home and cleaned up the abode. They were out until after midnight and it turned out they paid an extra $100 and got to go backstage to chat with the performers and get some pictures with them. At first she felt bad, but I told her that these one time chances were worth the money in exchange for the priceless memories.
On an unhappy note, I young lady that works with me at Wal-Mart (and at on time for me), passed away yesterday from a heart attack. She had been having some heart troubles for a few years, but that does not make it any easier to hear. Her mother, had just lost her own mother just over a week ago and now her daughter. I find myself at a loss for words to comfort her, except that if she needs anything I will be there for her. I do not go onto facebook, but Connie does and read where Mona (her mom) posted "I want my baby back." I can't even imagine what she must be going through, adding to that the time of year it is happening (not that any point in time makes it easier).
It does remind me that life is precious and without a defined time frame. No one is guaranteed a tomorrow. I pray I can be of some help to the family when needed.
Don't mean to end this morning's post on a sad occasion. I hope you all have a beautiful Saturday and weekend.

Prayers being sent up for you, and your friends loved ones.

Good evening ~
My husband and I stopped at Michael's today to look at the Christmas trees. We ended up getting a new one and put it up when we got home. I'm going to hold off on the other trees until after Thanksgiving. The new one will be for my Hallmark ornaments, I'm going to decorate it tomorrow. Can't wait!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'll see you in the morning!
Here's a picture of the new tree ~

Good morning MMC! Merry Monday! What a weekend! My brother from Cape Cod flew in Saturday morning & surprised us! He called my sis & said he was in PA & would need picked up at the airport in a couple hours. SO FUN!! I went shopping with the girls Saturday morning, then out for lunch. Then to my future nieces bridal shower...watched the Buckeyes then off to my nieces for an impromptu party with the family. Yesterday my brother took lots of nieces/nephews up for plane rides & my other brother had everybody over for a cook out, including my cousins who are cleaning out my uncles house which is in the same neighborhood as my mom & brother (My uncle is in a nursing home & my nephew/wife are going to rent his house) - what a fun house full! This morning my Cape Cod brother, mom & I took off to pick up Emma - She was SO SURPRISED to see him! We then dropped him off at the airport on the way home & he had to head back! Always sad to say goodbye, but he'll be back in 3 weeks for my nephews wedding! :) 2 of my sisters, my brother, SIL & 2 of their grandkids were there this morning to see him off. What a fun morning - it was hard to come to work...but here I am! And now I have some catching up to do both at work & here on MMC! Looking forward to reading the last special posts!!

Everyone, have a GREAT Monday!

Merry Christmas, Holiday!
Wow! What a wonderful surprise!! And a great, fun filled weekend!
Have a fabulous week :)

good morning all y´all!
watching Midsomer Murders right now and chilling with Kandice and the furbabies......checking for christmas presents....the one I was looking for, for Kandice (the Nintendo Classic Mini) has just been released on the 11th....and is sold out everywhere......It seems Nintendo didn´t really expect the people to go bonkers over a new edition of their first console with 30 preinstalled games.....because noone knows when they will be available again. so now I am thinking about what to get for her and browsing the net.

Merry Christmas, T!
I love Midsomer Murders, excellent show.
Hope you are able to find the Nintendo Classic Mini for Kandice, fingers crossed.
Hugs to you both, have a merry evening~

Everyone, have a GREAT Monday!

How wonderful that your brother was able to surprise everyone and you were able to take advantage of the opportunity to have a great meal and visit. The best surprise I ever had was a surprise visit from an old childhood friend who popped by out of the blue from California. My brother and I took her with us to visit the old neighbours and the old neighbourhood and were delighted that the lighting of the annual luminaries (runway for Santa) was still going on after we had moved from that area. Last year, I picked my brother up at the airport, but it wasn't a surprise. It was fun driving him around so he could finish his Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve Day; the pressure was off me because my gifts were bought and wrapped well before the "big day". These are the kind of special things that happen when we scroll through these merry pages and something we share sparks a memory in someone else. The Christmas Connection is strong.

Nice to see you AMD!!! I hope life slows down enough for you that you can visit us more often!!! I'm glad to hear you are doing fine, we missed you around here, you Christmas wacko! :D :p
Hope you are having a great Monday!

Thanks. Funny thing is this thread is one that I worry I don't have time for because there are so many posts to catch up on, especially if you miss a day or two (as we've all discovered). I managed to get caught up with the Special Posts and go from there.

-season- Yet, here I am again, catching up and feeling the merriment as always.

Prayers for your Mom. I hope she's climbing them steps to sleep next to your dad very soon!

Thank you for the prayers.

Well as it so happens...She told me during my visit on Sunday that she wanted to go upstairs to her own bed on Saturday night, but when it was time for bed, she was too tired to make the journey (12-14 stairs). I suggested she go up earlier and after a wonderful visit that revealed yet another story about my grandpa that I hadn't heard previously, she announced to my father and I that she was going to go up to bed, but not sleep at 6 o'clock so she would have the energy and then she could watch TV until she was tired.
We chatted again about celebrating the American Thanksgiving because we missed our own and she changed her mind. She doesn't want the fuss of preparing a meal and when Christmas rolls around it will be similar food. She's been laid up for so long that she wants me to take her out Christmas shopping and grab a hot turkey sandwich instead. I love that idea and the fact that she keeps "bouncing back". My mom and dad are such sweethearts and still such dear friends; it's nice watching them being a couple knowing that they're also my parents.

I heard they were making more for release, but will they be ready in time for Christmas; I don't know.

I faked believing for 2 years because I thought the stockings and gifts would disappear if I didn't believe. The Christmas that my parents found out I didn't believe in Santa was one of the worst for me so after that I decided to believe again.
Still do. +k

You could give Clark Griswold a jingle - maybe not - I know a few members here display them, but I haven't seen any how to posts since 2007. I'm not allowed on the roof so I'm no help. Sounds like you're getting things ready nice and early to enjoy them longer.

Good Afternoon/Evening Christmas friends.....Hope everyone is having a merry day so far...just finished watching The Santa Clause 2 with the girls and it's making me feel soo christmassie....I've been to the loft today and I now have a couple of ornaments displayed Wooo-Hooo....It has put a huge smile on the girls faces tonite....My little girl is still not feeling good tonite so it could be a long nite ahead....Enjoy your evening ahead Christmas friends:)
Hope your little one feels better soon!

Tonight after I got home from work Carolina had me playing with her Peppa Pig house. She had us all cracking up because she tried to talk in a British accent like Peppa. I am hoping that wore her out and she sleeps all night
