Gotta a sneak peak of a house on the next street over from ours. We can see the NW corner of their house from our laundry room. It was lit up on Thursday evening. The only down side was the last two seasons it morphed from multi - color to white and back, but it was burning steady multi color, last week. Maybe next week, when we're in fur real - fur sure mode it will be back in full, glorious force. :D

Let's hope so. And maybe more neighbors will join in.

4 apartments in my complex have their outside lights up and one had a tree in their window tonight when I came home from the store.

I feel so far behind.

The good news is, I don’t think I have to worry about any of them in the decorating contest.
Just channel your inner Alfred E Neuman and you will be all, but assured of winning that decorating contest.;)

I just started listening to my Christmas playlist for the first time this season, as I was baking carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Not a Christmassy treat per se but I had extra carrots I had to use up and felt like baking, and most of all felt like baking while listening to Christmas music, so there you go. Later this week I want to try my hand at making maple meringues. I’ve never made meringue so it’ll be interesting.

Good Morning everyone! Hope everyone is well. Decorating for us is nearly complete as well. I relied much more on my husband this year for his help but the house is looking so festive! All trees are up and decorated with the exception of the live tree. We will get that a week from Wednesday. I found a tree lot that opens this Saturday but it is my tradition to hunt down a live tree and put it up the day before Thanksgiving. We finished all of our outdoor decorations last night with the exception of the pine tree in front of the house (we planted him years ago and he is now about five foot tall.) I can't seem to find his lights so I will buy some today and we will put them on tonight. Then, my husband built me a wooden display piece for my village that is in the corner of the living room. We need to wrap the shelves and center poles in garland and lights and put the village up. It will have a four foot decorated tree at the top with branches from a larger tree attached at the back and pointing down to give the illusion that the village is nestled inside a tree. That is my vision anyway; but who knows how it will turn out! But it will be special either way because he made it! We have that to finish and then the house will be done! We have more decorations than ever this year! I love it! It has been a rough year for us, especially with my dad passing, so I am going to make the house as festive as I can to help combat those sad feelings. Hope everyone has a great day and safe travels!

Sounds merrily magical. Did your dad ever give you any ornaments as gift? That would be a nice way to include him in your Christmas. My dad gave me back a few things I gave my mom over the years. She was a bigger Christmas nut than my dad; it's nice to have some of those precious treasures to keep her close.

Went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra last night it was amazing ..as a bonus my wife bought me tickets to go see Pentatonix in a couple weeks for my birthday getting spoiled this year .

You're lucky - she's a keeper.

Merry Monday!
We have a chilly start today but not too bad.
Work for me today and then I am off tomorrow for my daughter's knee surgery. If you could please keep her in your prayers, I would appreciate it.
I am jealous of all the decorating, we will start on Black Friday.
Hope you all have a great Monday!

Thoughts and prayers; hope it went well and she recovers sooner than anticipated.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

Saturday was a freezing, rainy day...and Nancy made me work outside all day. We're still getting ready for Thanksgiving at our house, and she's making me clean the whole place in just a couple days. She's a taskmaster!

The kids came home to clean their rooms up Saturday afternoon, and they both stayed the night. We were so happy to have the house full again!

We took some more furniture to Jacob's apartment yesterday afternoon, AND I found a water leak in my yard, so I have to dig that up today. Great.

Still, it's not raining today, and I'm going to the mountains next weekend.

And Wednesday is our 25th anniversary! I think I have her convinced to keep me by now.;)

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Gosh, with all the honey-do's you're getting done; I guess you're "in" for another 25.

Is your hair greyer than it used to be? Cut some off and add it to your anniversary card to represent something silver and then you don't have to buy a gift. It's the thought that counts.

Thanks! My Dad never gave me any specific ornaments, but ever since his passing in April I (as well as my siblings and mother) keep seeing cardinals everywhere and believe that is a sign from him so I have purchased a few cardinal Christmas decorations this year. I believe I will decorate a white tree with red and cardinals from now on to keep him close to our home each Christmas. I am amazed at how many cardinals I notice now that he is passed! And each time I see one out my window I silently (and sometimes out loud) say "Hi Dad!" So I believe a cardinal tree is definitely in my Christmas future. He once made both my sister and I bird feeders shaped like and painted like a cardinal, so it is only fitting that I see them all the time now to remind me of him!

Maybe they were celebrating with a Nightmare Before Christmas theme, previously.

Sometimes I prefer solid colours; I find them more tranquil than all the multi-coloured ones.

Beautiful; I have a few merry cardinals handy to remind me of some merry magic and how my husband became a bird lover the last few years.

A Merry Milestone Monday Morning, Folks!
The last -- the VERY last marker of 2019 -- is here.
Now, it's clear sailing on through the rest of the Season and the year!

Days to Thanksgiving: 10 (SINGLE DIGITS TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 37 (FIVE weeks from the day after tomorrow!)

And that final Milestone?
It's the 90 percent marker to Christmas Day 2019.
The Home Stretch to Christmas has begun!!

It continues dry, sunny and chilly here in central NC but it's getting very gradually warmer each day.
As this week progresses, we will go from a predicted high of 49 for today up to 64 degrees for Friday before we cool off again. A 60 percent chance of rain shows for today, then dry conditions should prevail at least until Friday.
Our week-starting temperature reading is 45 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Marvelous Milestone Monday, Guys.
And a great week ahead!
Thanks Crown! Happy Week Before Thanksgiving!

In case you need it, I give lessons every Wednesday at my house called, "How to run your home." We start at 3:30 and get done by 5:00....that's when Doc gets home. LOL.

25 year...congrats, friend. Quite the achievement.

Terrific Tuesday has arrived -surprise-

My dad and I were chatting on the phone last night to make plans for Friday and Saturday and he decided he didn't want to go. He doesn't like winter travel and the inconvenience of having to pack different types of coats this time of year.

It's too bad because I wanted to get away for two days, I thought maybe I should detour to Ottawa for #2 Grandson's birthday, but staying home will give me more time to finish up my Christmas cards and wrap up my Operation Christmas Cheer packages for two boys I've never met.

The guest bed and love seat are piled with gifts waiting to be wrapped, some for the youngest granddaughters and children of co-workers, my brother, my dad and a few close friends.

Stay Jolly -list-

Good Morning MMC !

my second day home with the flu...annoying because I got the flu shot, I guess this strain was not included. I am starting to feel better so thankfully it was a short one (started on Sunday)
Work on gingerbread house is going very slow, hoping I can get it all done in time. It has to be taken to the competition site next Wednesday.
We do not have lights up outside yet because winter and very cold temps hit very early this year on November 13.

Today looks like it is going to warm a bit so we are going to try and get it up.

Hope you all have a fantastically magical day !!~
