Well, we landed about 48 hours ago and I'm still tired. Probably will be for a couple of days. Had to spend Monday and Tuesday at the office, but left today about 2:00. I couldn't stand it, anymore. I had to get out in the Thanksgiving crowd and feel the warmth and excitement in the air. It was busy...then all of the sudden it wasn't. Somebody (me) didn't pay close attention to the weather and I got caught in a downpour!!!!!

No worries, though. Can't dampen my spirit. Tomorrow is one of my favorite days of the year. I love the feeling of preparing for Thanksgiving. The food, the family, the movies, and the music. Tomorrow will be a good day!

I'm cooking some candy and I'm trying a new cupcake.....ooey gooey cupcakes. I can't wait. I'm also cooking breakfast for everyone on my griddle. I will probably start the fire about 6:00, drink some coffee, and have breakfast on the grill at 7:00. We are having bacon, cheese, egg, and ham sandwiches on toast with pancakes on the side. Yummy!!

See yall for coffee in the morning.

Back to merry reality. Your breakfast buffet sounds good.

Was there a part of the Disney trip the girls enjoyed more than the rest of it?

Hey. It use to be REAL tough. At Christmas.com the site shut down in January and didn’t come back up till August. We literally were torn apart and alone for 8 months. I spent the time drinking coffee. Yabba!

When I first signed up there, I was on dial up and it seemed like I could have decorated a tree in the time it took for the site to load. Two years later, I switched for quicker access to all things merry and bright.

Hope the decking of the halls heals you.

I can hear the winds of change - haha

It's going to be a mix of snow and freezing rain today in my merry neck of the woods. Then we shall experience three days of sunshine. The gusts are only at 41, but there's a gap between my place and the building across the street and a park behind me so it creates an echo making it sound colder. (Yes, I said, "sound colder.") It's -1 with a wind chill of -8.

We have our Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas Walk on Friday with the lighting of the tree, a "merry season" announcement by the town crier, Santa and the Mrs. carolers on every corner, a sleigh ride and shops open with discounts, food samplings, the museum is also lighting their trees with ornaments already decorated; I bought 4 to go on the tree. The United Church often has a Nativity story and/or indoor carol sing.

I haven't lined up anyone to go with I will probably go alone and see who I run into that way if it's not feeling merry enough, I can check out whenever I want. Plus, I don't have anymore presents to buy so I'll just be browsing and trying to enjoy the festivities on the three blocked off downtown streets. You only have to watch out for horses, no vehicles to worry about except when crossing at the intersections.

Next year, I might sign myself up for reading Christmas stories in one of the shops. That would draw a crowd of merry youngsters and their parents.

I'm so happy that our city still celebrates Christmas and thousands of people flood the downtown core even in nasty weather. Thankfully, it looks like good weather and not too cold.

O'Malley cat and I will see y'all at the Shispering Pines tonight.

Keep a merry thought in your head+i

Good morning everyone! Can't believe it is Tuesday already. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary over the weekend and yesterday I drove to meet my sister and pick up my mom so she can spend Thanksgiving week with us. I have been busy this morning assembling a dessert care package for my brother and his family that he will pick up this morning. Thank goodness I bake ahead of time and freeze stuff. I packed a loaf of pumpkin bread, walnut fudge, snickers fudge, a batch of cake mix bars, a batch of rice krispie treats, and a mix of dark chocolate chip cookies, chocolate peanut butter chip cookies, and (my favorite) ginger molasses cookies. 90% of that I made ahead of time and froze in advance. Good thing too or they would not have received much! But I love to send over cookies and things to my nieces and nephews and some of my brother's girlfriend's family will be in town for Thanksgiving so I always make a big batch of desserts to send over! Tonight we are taking my mom through a local drive-thru Christmas lights display and then will pick up takeout Chinese for dinner. We will go get our live tree tomorrow morning which is my favorite part of the week and then I will decorate and start to cook the rest of the day! Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe day!
Congratulations on your anniversary!

Good morning, kids have a 1/2 day of school today. I am getting ready to head out and grab some gifts at sine early BF sales and then stopping at the grocery store on my way home. Making the pies later today and making homemade pizza and pepperoni bread for dinner tonight and an extra loaf or 2 for the football games tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day and for anyone traveling today... safe travels.
