Good Morning Halloween Friends!

I had a good weekend. Friday the 13th cheat day, and otherwise cooler weekend weather wise. Looking at the 10 day forecast, we have showers off and on the next couple of days, but heat wise, nothing hotter than 84 degrees. I'm more optimistic than ever that we are done with the horrible heat. We know that BERS weather is great, but I'm hoping as we head into the latter part of August, we can get an early preview of that awesome weather. This coming weekend, I will finish up my outside Fall decorations by putting out my straw bale, corn husks leftover from my garden, and my little plastic Halloween pumpkin candy buckets. They will make due until I can get the full-size ones at Walmart!

I want to give a shout-out to our main man @Edge612 and his Thanksgiving thread, because tomorrow, If I am not mistaken, we reach the 100 days to Thanksgiving. That's a big one.

Pretty much all of the threads now have big moments over these next few weeks it feels like. Tomorrow will mark only 2 weeks until the FINAL Jack O Lantern Day of 2021, and Wednesday will arrive with the fact that our beloved BERS are only two weeks away as well. Simply amazing.

I started my morning walks again this morning. The humidity made it kind of miserable, but since the sun wasn't up yet it was a nice, creepy atmosphere reminiscent of an October morning. Tomorrow I might play some Halloween tunes on Spotify as I walk.

Sometimes I have to turn off true crime podcasts while I am out walking, although being a bit scared certainly ups my pace!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Well here we are. Over the halfway point in the month now. The last month standing in the way of everything that we love; The Bers, Fall, Halloween, and its big cousins Thanksgiving and Christmas. I guess technically we were over the halfway point yesterday, but today looking at that calendar, you can really see it stand out.

I've been behind on some thread announcements, I can only chalk it up to feeling the strain of keeping a thread going year-round. It has been a learning experience. Every day I tip my hand to folks like Crown and Edge who keep stuff going all year.

First thing is first, we are now exactly TWO WEEKS away from our Final JOL Day of 2021! After much careful consideration, the two films for me that night are going to be "Halloween", and "Halloween 4". I still think to this day, Halloween 4 has some of the best Fall scenery during the opening, of any film I've watched. When the second Halloween film is over, it will be very close to midnight, and I will be turning on the large ceramic "Halloween Tree" to signify that the Bers are finally here!

And we are obviously under two weeks now on the "Final" Dark Arts Sunday of 2021. My annual re-watching of the Harry Potter films will conclude on Sunday, August 29th, when I watch the Deathly Hallows part 1 and 2. It has been fun going through the movies in a year, and I think this is a tradition that we will continue in 2022.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! No milestone day today, but it feels like one because today we are now officially TWO WEEKS away from the Bers arriving. I could write all day about how awesome that is, but I think we all feel the same way.

The counts themselves are starting to look a little thin, and I'm visualizing what it will look like in two weeks when we are down to just TWO countdowns. Time marches on.

Have a great Wednesday! Almost the weekend now! And for me this weekend will finally see me put up my fall stuff, inside and outside. Have a great day!
 
Well just got the emergency announcement that my city is flood warning mode. The weather definitely reminds of Halloween weather. It was cold enough that I had a hot chocolate this morning, first time since early March. And I agree, exactly why don't places have Halloween stuff out--don't they know, paraphrasing Paul Revere: "The Bers are coming, the Bers are coming!"

Are we the only weird family that names our decorations? This is "Ghostie" on the left and the much larger "Mr. Boo" on the right. Our youngest daughter was terrified of Mr. Boo for the first two years of her life, but she warmed up to him last year after we started filling his mouth with gummy worms.
