Harry Potter is one of those rare film franchises that gives off both Halloween and Christmas vibes, especially the first three films. I don't get "the feels" from the later films in the series, so my marathons usually run short, but I'll for sure watch The Sorcerer's Stone all the way through at Christmas time. For Halloween, the latter films are perfect because they're much darker.

Good Morning! Our first truly, horrible, cold night is now in the books for the 20-21' winter season. It got to 20 degrees last night overnight!

Do you see the count? With today's update, we are within striking distance of another milestone, that will occur in just TWO weeks; The 300 days till October 1st milestone. Tremendous. Getting out of the 300's on a count is huge!

It's almost the weekend again, which is great. Knowing that the Harry Potter marathon is coming up on Saturday and Sunday is giving me very strong vibes of late October, when we were all still crazy for Halloween, but you could feel Christmas season getting ready to explode everywhere. I am curious of how it will feel tuning into the marathon with our house in full Christmas décor and all of the outside decorations lit up. I originally thought of maybe cheating again with the Halloween playlist this weekend, and maybe doing some fall candles / wax warmers, but I decided against it.

Enjoy your Thursday! One day closer to the weekend!

Indeed! That is the part I always struggle with during my Post-Christmas depression. It always seems like it takes forever to get through those first 65 days. Thank goodness for milestones!

Happy Friday Morning! And Happy Weekend Eve!

This weekend is going to be magic. #1, there's a Harry Potter marathon on SyFy this weekend, Saturday - Sunday. That in itself is awesome. This will conjure up strong "October Feels", when we were in the thick of Halloween season, but you could feel that Christmas excitement building. It is for that exact reason that I decided this year to begin keeping some Halloween stuff outside along with the Christmas decorations, because Halloween is so strongly part of the "Christmas Routine".

Also, for #2, it is Pre-Thanksgiving weekend. There's just magic in the air now. I can feel it everywhere. There is a special feeling that washes over everything the week of Thanksgiving, and the week of Christmas. Even in other weeks that have holidays, I don't think there's anything like this.

The counts are keeping on and doing their thing. Under two weeks now to reaching our 300 day milestone for "Days until October 1st". Hope everybody enjoys their Friday!

I think your auto-correct tried to fix "Halfoween" for you...lol.

Today I'm planning on stocking up on whatever Fall goodies are remaining in stores to get me through the Spring. Usually I am able to find a lot of pumpkin spice stuff on clearance right now, and my favorite among the clearance items is Maple Pecan coffee. I also buy up whatever remains of the Fall/Halloween cereals, like Count Chocula and such.

Halloween time is such a great time of year. I can't wait until it rolls around again next year.

I fixed it! Thanks for pointing it out for me!

Good Morning! Happy Pre-Thanksgiving weekend! In this house this weekend, it is Happy Harry Potter weekend! I didn't expect to see the HP movies back on TV so soon following Halloween, but it is a bonus, IMO. Same thing as when you see Michael Myers on TV outside of "Halloween Season". Very rare, but it happens from time to time.

Looking at the counts, wonderfully I notice that we have TWO counts that jumped out at me this morning. "Days to October 1st" is now only 12 days away from celebrating the magical 300 day milestone. It will be here before we know it. The bonus of cheat months! And now, the "Days to Halfoween" stands at 160 days. TOMORROW it will enter into the 150's! Just amazing!

If anybody is joining me tonight for the Harry Potter marathon, I hope you enjoy it! I wrestled all week with if I should put on the Halloween playlist in the background, or light any candles, etc., but I decided against it. Saving that for Jack O Lantern Day #1, which is now 71 days away.

I am also thinking about adding "Jack O Lantern Day" to our count. Thoughts? I will wait until after Christmas is over because it is really important for me to not "cut into" Christmas season, but I have been thinking about adding the counts for JOD, so we can count down to each one we have coming up. Thoughts?

Hope all enjoy their Pre Thanksgiving / Harry Potter weekend!

Happy Sunday Morning! Last night's Harry Potter marathon on SYFY did not disappoint! I'm really looking forward to Day 2 of it this evening, at which point I suspect it will be several months before they play on regular TV again. Those films bring out such an emotional response in me, I get such a strong Holiday Feels from them! Especially with last night's weather, It could have easily been one of those wonderful October weekends we always talk about. I was curious if the Christmas decorations everywhere would reduce THE FEELS, but it didn't seem to be a factor!

Jumping into the numbers, some great news to report, "Days to October 1st", and "Days to Halfoween" are almost running concurrent counts for approaching milestone days. December 1st we will see "Days to Halfoween" hit the 150 day milestone, and just two days later, "Days to October 1st" will hit the magical 300 day milestone on December 3rd. VERY exciting stuff over the next two weeks. Heck, just seeing a count be down into the 150's now is great stuff!

Hope all enjoy their Sunday!

Morning Halloween Fans! I got a few items yesterday 90% off! Oh yes that is the best feeling in the world. When you get a $7 decoration for 70 cents. I'm still Halloweening! Have a great day!

Morning Halloween Fans! It's Thanksgiving Week! I guess we really are moving on from Halloween now. Or are WE? We don't really ever do that do we? But it's a special week we all love. Have a great day!

Happy Turkey week everybody! Boy does it feel good waking up today knowing that is what is coming our way. Feels weird to mention it in a Halloween Countdown thread but everybody loves Thanksgiving just the same.

I have to tell you, I was a bit sad last night when the last Harry Potter went off TV. I was so much in the routine of "30 days of Halloween" with movies in October, and then even on November 1st, AMC was still doing a Michael Myers marathon until 6 PM that day! Then we had sort of a little "cheat day" on Friday the 13th. Now, knowing that we have a pretty long haul even until Jack O Lantern day, I have to admit, it leaves me feeling a little glum.

But it is okay, because we still have one more week of November, and then a whole entire wonderful month of December - freebie time! Hope you all enjoy your Monday! Almost time to gobble gobble gobble!

Thus far I've managed to stave off any glum feelings, but only because we've basically had a non-stop string of holidays since Labor Day. Once Christmas and New Year's are over, I'm going to keep my eyes on the prize and look ahead to our first Jack o' Lantern Day. I'm hoping that will help ward off any PCD.

Glum feelings was maybe an over exaggeration. I just feel like the magic starts early there between September - October, because you know what is coming up, that string of Holidays like you said. So everything associated with that time, to me, is just awesome. But you know what, I think it is OK to feel a little down like I did last night, because that's how we know we tapped into something special. I would have been more concerned if when I turned off the TV last night, i didn't feel anything. But it is okay. With as much as everyone has to look forward to in 2021, i fully expect to get more "feels" than normal after the holidays, and that is going to FEEL good. No pun intended lol.

Happy Tuesday morning! And happy Thanksgiving Eve Eve! With today's updates, we can see now that our two counts, "Days to October 1st", and "Days to Halfoween" are on course to celebrate milestones next week. Next week? That's right friends, next week at this time we will ring in 150 DAYS until Halfoween, and then just TWO days later, we will celebrate 300 DAYS until October 1st.

Here's to hoping today's workday goes by fast. I'm almost certain WEDNESDAY will drag because that's how it always is for me right before a Holiday. It's the excitement and the yearning I'm sure, which makes it seem like an eternity when I start counting down to Christmas again on December 26th.... But well worth it, like we always say.

Have a great day!

This thread has achieved what I never thought could be possible, and that is to get me excited about Halloween not even a month after Halloween has ended. Reading about the upcoming milestones and Halfoween each day reminds me of how much I love Spooky Season. It's got me wanting to already make plans for next year, although much of that will depend on if the pandemic is still a key player. With the vaccines that have been submitted for approval this week I am more optimistic than ever that 2021 will be a glorious return to a traditional Halloween celebration.

Whatever 2021 brings, I'm almost certain that by the time we reach the late Summer / Fall, nothing will be like it is now. I just see too many bright spots. It seems like we get good news much more often now, 3 vaccines now that we know of that work and possibly as many as half a dozen by the end of the year. As an American, i do believe that we have rounded the corner but we still have a few hard months ahead. Spring next year will be TOTALLY different from the horrible spring we all endured this year. For the first time ever I think we can see a true end to the pandemic and that light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. Help is on the way!
