Our stores here have Halloween candy out already and have for awhile. I've already purchased some Brach's candy corn and the mellowcreme pumpkins. Wanted to share this really cool picture I seen online. It was taken in 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA the picture description said Homes Halloween Children's costume shop located on the 3rd floor. ♡
Great pic! Glad someone had the foresight to take that. I've always wished I knew to take pictures "back in the day." I'd love to see photos of our old Thrifty Drug during Halloween with the Collegeville costumes stacked high along with the wall of accessories like "Scar Stuff" and "Vampire Blood."

Halloween cash saving tip (possibly): Sometimes Joffrey's shows up at Marshalls at a pretty decent discount. Maybe the pumpkin will show? I'll definitely check. Thanks for the heads up it exists.
Marshall's is how I stumbled upon Joffrey's! I bought a bag of their French Roast on a whim and was shocked at how delicious it was! I only recently started ordering from Joffrey's website because the last few times I've been into Marshall's or Homegoods they didn't have any. :( I'm afraid that they might be clearancing it out.

Hello friends. I bring tidings of great cheer.

Target has their Halloween stuff on their website now.

I don't know why the link says "2019,” but there are some items that are definitely new this year.

That's so cool! I wish there were lots of stores like that around.

I received a new Lakeside Collections catalog in the mail yesterday so last evening, I treated myself to laying in bed and drooling over all the stuff I would like to buy. So many fun autumn and Halloween things. If that doesn't give a person the feels, nothing will. Now I just gotta have a heart-to-heart with the budget............

We got ours today!!!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 86
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 56
DAYS TO THE BERS: 26
Days to JOL Day: 25

Happy Friday Halloween Friends!

What a glorious evening we had last night. The return of NFL football to our screens. Cool Weather. It could have been one of those amazing Bers September or October days we always talk about in here.

I noticed the other day while outside checking out everything, that I have a single bloom on one of my mums. The big decision now is to let it go, or pinch it early. I have waffled back and forth since we are so close to The Bers now. The others do not have any yet, so I am thinking I might just let it go.

I'm really excited for tomorrow because I'm making another Michaels halloween run, and I'm going over to Jo Ann's with Holly because she is buying some fabric to make CHRISTMAS TREE NAPKINS, and I will oogle all the Hallowen fabrics and little knickknacks while I am there.

Have a great Friday, friends!

Pumpkin update: The pumpkins are doing pretty good, each container is getting 1 to 2 gallons of water every day and I am adding plant food about every tenth day. I am experimenting on how best to protect the skin of the pumpkins-- I have elevated some on overturned containers, I have put one down into containers with dirt underneath it, and others are hanging from a container or a pallet. I have noticed that new blossoms are only opening after a rainfall, but for this year I think I have all of the fruit the containers can sustain. The largest one is about 10" and the rest are right around baseball and softball sized. I am enjoying the process and hope you do too. image0 (40).jpegimage1 (32).jpeg

I had to follow up with you on this, cgmcav, because my wife showed me a picture last night where someone did indeed find the Joffrey's Fall blends at a Homegoods yesterday - including the pumpkin! Grrrr...and right after I placed my order too...

Anyway, now that there's a confirmed sighting you should go check for it!

Those are some handsome pumpkins!

Alright, let's continue this debate from the Daily Holiday Hangout thread since this seems like the appropriate place to discuss:

Are you pro Candy Corn or anti Candy Corn?

Since I'm riding the fence on this one, I'll be an impartial judge, so prepare your best arguments and politely debate.

Pretty pro about it. I LOVE seeing it in stores, and I love biting the vanilla end off LOL!

Oh, totally pro candy corn. I love the stuff. My favorite is the pumpkins. You can get them all by themselves. I think they taste sweeter, but that might just be me!
