DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 28

Good Morning Halloween Friends! A chilly start to our Monday, at only 46 degrees. The remaining mist and gloominess is finally out of here from Ian, and it is supposed to be a cool, but sunny week. If the weather continues staying this cold, I might mow grass this weekend for the final time. It has barely grown up since the last time I cut, which was 9/24. Mowing will soon be replaced by gathering leaves. This would be one of the earliest times we have stopped cutting for the season, usually we mow right up until around Thanksgiving, and don't start up again until the end of March / early April.

I enjoyed seeing Michael Myers on TV this past weekend and hope to see more of him this wek.

Have a great Monday!

My view as I walked out of my house this morning. Love it!

There was a perfect spooky moon out last night so fitting for the season. It had the perfect amount of cloud cover but not to much. I was really impressed that my wife called it as it was outside the window as we were watching a movie. She beat me to it and actually used the term spooky moon which I always say. Lol

Well, we did drive out to the pumpkin patch yesterday, but they weren't open yet! Can you believe it? They don't open until next weekend. :(

So I got a pumpkin spice latte instead. Not a very spooky activity, but a yummy one.
It is October, isn't there some sort of Halloween law that pumpkin patches HAVE to be open the first weekend in October? Pretty sure there is such a law.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 27

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Another brutal cold night. We got down in the low 40's last night. We didn't have heat overnight, but I turned on the pellet stove this morning to take the chill off. I think this is the coldest start to an October that I can ever remember. We are about 3 weeks early from normally having to need / use heat.

And if we really are "done" mowing grass this month, that will be about a month earlier than normal too. Now I'm sure I will be using the riding mower to mulch up leaves, but it looks as though "true mowing" may be done within a week or so.

Folks - Today I am only WEEK away from our daughter being born. Depending on what time we have to report to the surgery center next week, I may need a countdown volunteer for that day.

Tonight I look forward to some more Halloween movies on TV, and maybe having an entire evening with the pellet stove on, it really adds to the ambience, even though I think it can make it feel more like November than October! Have a great day!

I'll be glad to step in for the countdown for as long as you need, Snake! Just let me know when.

I'm happy to hear that. I figured you or Edge would step up. If it ends up being more than one day, I know I will be in good hands!

A week away, how exciting. I wish you lots of rest in the next week and a smooth delivery when the time comes.

When I was out and about today, there were about twice as many house decorated as there were on Saturday. Woo-hoo.
That is what I had expected, I am going to have to start trying alternate routes home! LOL!

WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 4

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It has crossed my mind that on Monday, I missed updating the "weeks count". My apologies on that. We are technically under 4 weeks now until our big day. Needless to say, I've had a lot on my mind recently :)

Today we finally break out of the "Brr" cold that we have had the last few days. Today gets in the mid 60's and Sunny, and Friday through Sunday gets back into the low 70's before nose diving again next week.

I'm going to try and enjoy some outside activities, a 10K training run, and I will also be hauling some more wood pellets this weekend to get closer to my goal of having 3 tons on the ground this month - essentially giving me enough pellet fuel to make it all the way through winter.

Tonight is the big season 2 premiere of Chucky, if anyone is watching! I know I will be!

Have a great day, friends!

Morning Halloween Fans! Hope you all are feeling spooky in our month of October. I watched a Family Matters Halloween episode last night. It was really good. I like them. Enjoy today. Have a great day!
I enjoy watching the holiday episodes for old shows and sitcoms too! Even shows I didn't particularly tune in for back in the day!
