Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's mid-way through the week now, and we are on our way to the very first weekend of FALL PRE-SEASON.

Am I seeing the counts correctly this morning? Can we really be in a 20's count now on the days to The Bers and now down in the 50's until October?

I am obviously going to start putting up my outside Fall decorations next weekend, but one of the things I have been trying to work on, is to come up with a list of scary / halloween movies that I can watch on the weekends, sort of like mini-marathons. It's tempting, but I think I am going to save the "big guys" (Michael & Jason) for next month when the "official" start to Fall is on the calendar. But there's lots of time for other things like Ghost Ship, The Ring movies, etc...

I'm making another bath & body works run tonight because Holly wants some new hand soap for the sink. This is an excuse for me to load up with more wallflowers and maybe a new Halloween plug-in or two.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! At long last Thursday is here, better known as "Mini Friday". I'm starting to look forward to the weekend, the very first weekend of "Fall Pre-Season", and I want to do it justice by watching some scary movies. I have no idea yet what I'm going to watch, but it's going to feel amazing. The weather is still holding fair in just the mid 80's with cool overnights, so unless September ends up being a scorcher somehow (very unlikely), I think we've almost got this in the wind.

NFL Football is back on TV, TONIGHT. I have waited a long time to see "real" football on TV, watching the old classics on NFL Network made me happy, but it made me also want Fall to be here, and the "real thing". Fortunately we are now much closer to that goal.

City schools are now back in session here, with county schools headed back next week. It almost feels like the only thing left to do now is start waiting for the leaves to turn. I wonder, will we see any leaves that have changed by the time we have our last JOL Day of the season later this month?

I nearly forgot that we had another JOL Day this month! And the last one before Halloween itself. Wow. This one needs to be big. Luckily I think there will be plenty of Halloween items ready and available this time around.

My kids think I have become a recluse( and don't think I do anything fun since their dad died (they don't know about my secret MMC life, LOL), so they think they need to make me go places with them. Today, one of my daughters and I went to some outlet stores. One of them was a pajamas store and I got some sugar skull pajamas. The top has giant skull and says "Dead Tired" and the bottoms are covered with tons of little skulls. They are supposedly for the Halloween season, but if I happen to start wearing them now just for some Halloween feels, I figure all my Halloween friends here won't judge me!

Good Morning and Happy Friday, Halloween Friends! At long last we are finally at the weekend, heading into the very first weekend of "Fall Pre-Season".

I was lucky and got home last night right as a "Resident Evil" marathon was on SyFy! Almost made me think of 30 days of Halloween. Resident Evil : Apocalypse, is my favorite ever Resident Evil movie out of all of them. I think I'm going to start off the 1st "Fall Preseason" weekend with watching the movie "Ghost Ship".

There's nothing super special to me about that movie, it's just that the past couple of years, "Ghost Ship" has been on TV during the first night of the "30 days of Halloween" marathons that SyFy does. I know it's not quite yet "30 days to Halloween" yet, but it's time to start up with the scary movies every weekend.

Folks, we've got a big milestone coming up in just a week from now, and that is the 50 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone. I can't believe it is just a stone's throw away.

If this is just the first weekend of the Fall preseason, it bodes well for the rest of the month. We need a nice, slow burn so that we can enjoy it more. So far the first week has been nothing short of great!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! 1st weekend of Fall Preseason is here!

Next weekend this time, I will finally start the process of decorating the house and grounds. We made some more progress on the "all year" Fall living room, and at this point, I feel pretty confident that it will be near completion by the third week of this month.

I'm not sure what movies I will watch tonight, but I'll pick some good ones! The TV might surprise me. Thinking hard about watching the new Predator movie called "Prey", that is streaming on Hulu!

Hello all!

So, yesterday evening we went out to dinner and happened to be near the mall where the local Spirit Halloween store is set to open. I suggested we drive over and see if they have an opening date sign anywhere. The website says the store is coming soon.
In any case, we drove over there and the front of the store has all of the signs and everything up and they had hours posted, but no opening date posted. My wife pulled on the door and...... They were OPEN! Yes, August 5th and the Spirit Halloween store was open!

Now they are still in the process of getting everything out and some of the shelves were empty, but hey, I will take it. It was super exciting to have it open already.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I'm happy to see the posts about Spirit Halloween being open now. Hobby Lobby I think is now 100% decorated out for Fall, and I also saw at long last they have the full-size Christmas trees up as well as "My Little Christmas", which is the miniature Christmas trees and the tiny ornaments and decorations that go with them, which are my favorite product line that Hobby Lobby carries.

We found two couch pillows at Costco that had pumpkins on them, and I got another piece of wall art for the "all year Fall" living room. We have a big milestone day coming up folks, that's on Friday of this week, where we will see 50 DAYS TO OCTOBER arrive. That's a big one, folks. I'm enjoying August so far, lots of moments where it "feels" like Fall, and I'm trying my best to make August feel like part of The Bers. I think by doing that, Fall won't go by as fast.

I am sitting outside on the porch enjoying some coffee and Halloween music. Yep, the time has come to integrate some Halloween music in my music listening. For the rest of this month it will only be occasional, but starting in September it will pretty much be all of the time.
