I'm looking more forward to my SS check coming on the 4th Wednesday than Halloween +f

I wish we had kids so I had an excuse to go out and buy candy. I try to stay away from processed food, especially sugar and I fear I'd eat it all.

I might call our church to see if there is a family that needs a little something for Halloween. There is Trunk or Treat but not everyone can attend.

Maybe I should dress up and knock on doors. I could decorate my power wheelchair and give them all a good scare. If I go by foot, I might not make it far but that chair would give me lots of mileage.
Love, love, love. All the ideas! If someone came to my door in a power wheelchair I would love it--you could put a box around it and make it into a race car! Dave because of issues with his neuro-encephalopathy, and when he could still get in his power wheelchair, was pretty erratic in his driving. Luckily he had sense of humor about it and we had some good laughs. Not so many laughs about the dinged walls though! The idea to help someone in your congregation is a great one. Our church's trunk or treat has a costume parade and I am looking forward to that.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 9

Happy Saturday Folks! I'm happy to report that I now have all three of the Mcdonalds buckets. My stepmother found me the last one that I needed, in surprisingly of all places, the McDonalds right across the street from our hospital. I would have never thought to check there.

We are in single digits now on the way to Halloween. The count has never looked more scary. I'm just not ready for it to be here. I'm not ready to "miss" Halloween yet. I'm not even ready to think about those feelings. So I won't today.

We have had the most amazing season so far. For that first week I was in the hospital with Holly and baby, I sort of felt "robbed" from the season. Being in the hospital was like being totally separate from the rest of the world. So I already feel like I'm a week "down", but I feel like I will catch it back up either on the 1st JOL Day of 2023, or "Spooky Spring", which for some reason has been in my mind so much recently.

Have a great day, friends! Enjoy this beautiful October weekend!

Good morning fellow ghouls, ghosts, and monsters!

The last several days have been super windy and have taken quite a toll on our decorations. So today will be repair day. Gotta try to get everything back up for this final week of Halloween.

Since HS football season is over now, we have more free time in the evenings and so the goal is to get a lot of Halloween movies in. Plus I do not have school next Friday so I get a 3 day weekend leading into Halloween itself. We have done pretty well on movies so far, but there are some we just have not been able to fit in yet.

Everyone have a great Saturday!

My niece is having my great-nephew's 4th birthday party next Saturday and all she will say is that it is a "Spooky" theme, dare I hope that is theme for all his birthdays?!?

75 Skeleton Plastic Easter Eggs arrived today and I just found Pumpkin eggs (24 for $3.00) online at Target, so I am going to get 3 sets and keep picking up little Halloween toys and stickers and then set them aside and fill them the week between Christmas and New Years to have a fun project to get me moving on next year's Great Pumpkin Egg Hunt, thanks to a suggestion from @LadyLynn over in the Off Season Thread.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 8

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Sunday!

There's only one more October weekend coming up. I'm not ready. There's just one more October Sunday. Where did the time all go? Somewhere in the last two weeks, we hit a time warp.

I'm not ready to update that count tomorrow that shows us only a week away from our day. Later today we are going to settle in for Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban, and maybe make it to Goblet of Fire if we are still awake lol. And of course I've got lots of other great movies to have on in the background today. October weekends are the best!

Have a great Sunday!

Morning all!

The weather is nice outside, but far too warm for Halloween. It will be close to 80 today. Luckily cooler air is coming back midweek so it will feel more like Halloween.
We are planning on watching Halloween Kills tonight. We are a little behind on the new Halloween trilogy. So we are watching that tonight and will watch Halloween Ends next weekend. I have heard mixed reviews on the last one, but I am curious to see for myself.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 7

WEEKS TO HALLOWEN: 1

Good Morning Friends! Today is the day that we have all been waiting for - We are only ONE WEEK away from Halloween! Folks, the very last October weekend is up ahead of us, I want to do everything I can to make it memorable and special. There is a time coming now all too soon where October weekends and "grazing" will be a memory, and we will be looking forward to the "next time".

Syfy and AMC has had some "duds" the last couple of days, I hope this week we see the kings, Michael and Jason. IMO, if I was in charge of the scheduling, I would have a non-stop Michael Myers marathon beginning on Friday morning and running through Monday night, just my 2 cents.

Enjoy this Monday, enjoy this special time that we have remaining! Have a great day!

ONLY ONE MORE WEEK!

When you miss three days and suddenly the countdown has gone from 10 to 7... o_O

We did get a Jack o' Lantern carved on Friday, and the girls painted and decorated two smaller pumpkins to look like black cats. I roasted the pumpkin seeds from the larger pumpkin, and they turned out awesome! I love eating the roasted pumpkin seeds.

This Thursday will be the day that we do the Great Pumpkin Hunt at our house.

I'm truthfully not ready for October to be over, and I'm going to miss Spooky Season something fierce. That being said, I'm feeling the pull of the Christmas season just like I felt the pull of The Bers and Spooky Season, so I reckon I won't be sad for too long. And I've already started brainstorming ideas for next year...I can't wait to share some of those with y'all during the Offseason Planning Session this year.

Wow. Time just keeps flying by. It is hard to believe there is only 1 week of spooky season left. I am just going to enjoy it before the feel shift comes on the 1st. Time flies when your having a good time. Luckily there is still so much to enjoy the rest of the year after Halloween.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 6

10 - October.jpg

Happy Rudolph Day! I felt my October-themed tree was appropriate to share in here.

Folks - the big Christmas tree comes out of storage tonight, and It will take us a couple of days to get it fully decorated. And this weekend I have the duty of pulling out the tubs of lights and "staging" across the yard so that when Tuesday comes, I can flip the switch like Clark Griswold.

The next few days in this house it will be like the "Nightmare before Christmas", with Fall / Halloween, and Christmas decorations all co-existing. And it's wonderful. This is a wonderful time.

I hope everybody enjoys this last little "run up" to Halloween. Christmas Season will be here before we know it. Nobody wants to wish the time away, especially not me, but there is a powerful force in the air now. I feel it. It's the pull of Christmas Season. And it is amazing to me, at 38 years old and close to 6 years of 24/7 Christmas lifestyle, that it can still grab me and take hold like it does. I get blasts of "The Feels" as hard as ever. Such a great feeling.

Have a great Tuesday! Happy Rudolph Day to all!
