Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today is going to get above 70 degrees here. I'm going to try and go on a walk at some point today, today is just too nice of a day to try and not take advantage. It's going to feel like a real "Bers Day" with those kind of temps and no humidity. I might be reminded of September today, maybe early October if there is any kind of chill in the air..

Our next milestone day will be in 8 days when we "finally" hit the 250 Days to Halloween milestone. October still feels so far away right now, but I think the perception of that will change, especially when we get into March here in two weeks, which will be the arrival of being HALF WAY(!!!) back to The Bers. And looking at October from the vantage point of Spooky Spring? Oh it's going to be great. Still 6 months away by that point but "close enough" that we can really start daydreaming about it.

Have a great day, friends!

I didn't get here in time to share my Tuesday Halloween thought yesterday, so I bring you this Wednesday Halloween thought instead:

What is a good Halloween beverage? This is something I honestly can't say I've given a lot of thought to until now. For Thanksgiving every year, it's the Martinelli's cider. For Christmas, it's typically eggnog or something with peppermint. What's the "official" drink of choice for Halloween? Is it apple cider? A pumpkin spice something? Mountain Dew Voo Dew (or Pitch Black)?

I guess for me it would be the pumpkin spice latte since that's what I end up drinking the most of in Fall. But this requires some more thought.

For me, definitely Mountain Dew voodoo, and cherry apple cider. Those two are the OG for Halloween season. Bonus points if there is Pitch Black available during that time!!!

For me it's always about the pumpkin beers. I'm a sucker for novelty drinks and these fit the bill. But I have to stick to one since they are usually higher ABV and can get a bit overwhelming with flavor. I've had some brutally bad ones too. "Now what am I supposed to do with the other five?"

I am sitting here with the windows open, a nice breeze, and it is 70 out. This totally gives me Spooky Spring vibes which in turn gives me Bers vibes. It is nice how all of it connects. I will call today a spooky spring preview!
70s are still a distant dream for us. We hit 56 yesterday, but back down we go. So sez the almighty ten-day forecast anyway.

Good Morning Friends! Happy Thursday! Today is normally the day of the week that I start thinking about the weekend. September and October weekends really were the best, weren't they? And of course we had the Halloweekend(tm) which was amazing. Halloween won't fall on a Saturday again until 2026!

We continue to shave away the daily counts, we are now just one week away from hitting the 250 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone, and now just two weeks out from seeing 200 Days to Halloween Season. Those things all feel like they are still pretty far away. But the important thing I think is that there are no more 300's in this thread.

Have a great day, friends!

My daughter had oral surgery today and we had to be there really early, So I left the house about a quarter to six. The quarter moon was so bright and vibrant, it felt like the October moon, the kind that a witch flies across. It was awesome.

I can picture it exactly, down to the twigs in her broom!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! At long last we have reached Friday. The weekend is just over the hill now. Are we truly out of winter yet? The calendar says not until March 20th, but once again the 10 day forecast has us here with six straight days above 55 degrees and next Thursday is even supposed to reach 80. If we really get to 80 degrees in February I will try and look that up to see if we have a record for our town. I would think it would have to either tie or set a record.

This weather has made me constantly think of our upcoming "Spooky Spring", as well as October. So many times over the past few days, for whatever reason, I have just felt jolts of "Fall Feelings". If I'm feeling like this now, April is going to be a complete dream.

But first, we have to close out February. We have 11 days to go. For the first time ever, we are ending February with a Jack O Lantern Day. What a way to end a month.

Have a great day, friends!

Hello all!
Just curious if anyone has seen the new Winnie the Pooh horror film, Blood and Honey? I have not seen it, but several of my students were talking about it yesterday. I guess it is a really low budget film and only good because it is so bad.
I heard about it, but I guess I'm not the target audience for this movie; I just can't get behind the idea. Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Winnie the Pooh as a kid, it seems wrong to me to take these rather tame, beloved characters and turn them into bloodthirsty murderers. I feel like it was probably done mostly for shock value.

I haven't seen it, but that is exactly what I have heard is that the only reason it is so good is because it is so bad.

Don't think it could be for any other reason.

That description reminds me of "Christmas, Bloody Christmas" only good because it is so bad.
