Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today is the January Recap, but before we jump into that, lets run down through our counts real quick this morning. Folks, we are just ONE day from Jack O Lantern Day #1, that's coming your way tomorrow! On Wednesday we can be happy to see that we have broken into a 50's count on the way to Spooky Spring! Also today, while not a milestone, marks exactly 90 days until "Halfoween". We have now also moved just TWO WEEKS away from the 200 Day marker to The Bers. That one is going to be amazing.

Now, looking back over January for our recap:

January felt like it was 7 weeks long. It really wasn't, but I think the absence of snow and cold weather (for the most part) might have made it feel un-natural and strange, which added to the feeling of length. But January was also a return to a few Spooky things like our very first Friday the 13th of 2023, and of course our Halloween / Halloween season milestones that got us to this point.

I'll pop back in tonight to post our February preview, I would normally do that tomorrow, but Jack O Lantern Day is its own thing. Just like Rudolph Day and Tom Turkey Day, I don't want anything to "take the focus away" from our Special days. Have a great day!

I am ready for JOL day #1 tomorrow! I will bring out the Halloween playlist for the first time this year. Groundhog Day on Thursday will top the week off and usher in the first small mood shift of the year.

I'm ready for my first "JOL Day Classic Monster Marathon" (still working on the name). Tomorrow I will immerse myself in all things Frankenstein, or more specifically, "Frankenstein's monster." It should be a lot of fun!

I still need to pick out a monster for my Halfoween celebration. It's got to be a good one, but I've already used Dracula. I'm leaning towards Medusa right now.

I am breaking out my Halloween Pajamas tonight and am going to continue to Harry Potter. I started with the 20th Anniversary Reunion and went on to Sorcerer's Stone, so this year's Dark Arts and JOL Day are going to be a 3 day extravaganza! LOL!

Evening Folks,

It's time for our February preview this evening. I'm hoping on the "Non Jack O Lantern Day" months to have the preview for the next month on the final day of the month, but like I mentioned, I don't want anything to "take away" from JOL Day time!

I have to mention, I have been going through the house and making sure I know where everything is to set out tomorrow for JOL Day. It has been kind of exciting because I have not seen the Big laughing pumpkins for over 3 months. I also went and got one of my Halloween wallflower plugs out for tomorrow, so I can plug in "Vampire Blood" tomorrow morning and have the house smelling like "Halloween" by the time I get home tomorrow. And let me tell you, I felt a little sort of "rush" just getting those few things together. I'm not sure if I ever had that happen before on a JOL Day Eve. It was easily on par with Rudolph Day prep, which is a pretty big accomplishment, I feel. Just like yesterday during "Dark Arts Sunday", it FEELS like Fall for a little while when I heard the opening tunes to the HP theme, and especially even more so later when Football came on TV.

So as far as the February preview is concerned, since there is no JOL Day in February because of the short month, we have the following milestones to look forward to here:

50's count to Spooky Spring - February 1st.

50 days to Spooky Spring - February 10th

200 days to The Bers - February 13th

250 Days to Halloween - February 23rd

February is a month where I like to daydream about Spring. And this year's Spring will be extra special, I think everybody here that follows this thread is going to try and incorporate an ENTIRE Spooky Spring over the month of April. By the time we realized it "was a thing" last year, we were about two weeks into the month. By the time we have conquered February, we will be on the heels of Spooky Spring and I think that there will be a lot of anticipation and excitement.

Happy Jack O Lantern Day #1, friends! At long last, It's finally here. Time to smell the "vampire blood", and bask in the glow of the electric Jack O Lantern this evening. This has been a day I have thought about for a long time. I'm glad it's here. "Halloween", and "The Thing" seem like perfect movie choices to start off our run of JOL Days.

My Tuesday Halloween thought today is an easy one. My thoughts for this Tuesday are of Jack O Lantern Days, not just today, but the four more we have remaining after this day. It stands out to me that the first one or two JOL Days are days where we have really, really been missing Halloween. But as we move along, the missing / longing part of it is replaced by real, real anticipation of what is up next. Think about how on March 31st, we are right at the door of "Spooky Spring", and excitement is through the roof. May's JOL Day comes on the heels of "The Road to The Bers" being open (Memorial Day weekend), July's JOL Day leads us right into Fall Pre-Season, and finally our "last" JOL Day in August delivers us back to The Bers / Hallowen season. So today is more or less a day of missing / remembering Halloween, but after this point it starts to get more towards anticipation / yearning.

My Tuesday Halloween thought:

I will definitely say JOL days are my favorite mini days of all the mini holidays. I personally feel that may just be due to it being only five a year compared to monthly as the others. I guess distance makes the heart fonder.

January 31st is my second favorite JOL Day. Being 3 months after Halloween and following Christmas, it is a much needed boost at this time of the year. My first is August 31st since it ushers in the Bers.

Happy JOL Day! My celebration plans include watching "Panic in the Year Zero." All the talk about the classic monster movies got me thinking of other classics.

I am having Breakfast for Dinner, finishing the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone from Sunday, and will be donning my Halloween pajamas. I am thinking I may have to get a specialty drink/beverage for JOL Days, maybe a Root Beer Float? Any suggestions?

Good Morning, Happy Tuesday! Welcome to February. Today we have entered into 50's territory on our way to Spooky Spring. We are also just 12 days away from reaching the 200's count on our way back to The Bers. Looking a little farther down the stretch, in 28 days we will have completed HALF of our journey back to September 1st (September 1st 2022 - March 1st 2023).

I enjoyed JOL Day yesterday and I hope that everyone did, and celebrated it however they saw fit. Four more big JOL Days to go until we are back in The Bers.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Thursday! Once again the weekend is sliding into view. Today is a special day because it's Groundhog Day. I wonder, will he see his shadow? I personally think that there will be an early Spring, the kind of January temps we have had so far are much more in line with late February to early March. But, regardless of what the official declaration is today, I figure about 6 weeks no matter what before it is truly fair weather.

We're in a 50's count now on the way to Spooky Spring, Halfoween is chocking in at under 90 days to go, and we are just 12 days out from breaking the 200 Day seal on our way to The Bers.
