Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday to all at last! This was a long week, wasn't it? My feeling on Monday morning was that this week might go slow because of the Holiday weekend. I tried my best to not think about it, but it was hard, especially on Wednesday when we hit 100 days To The Bers and came out on the other side.

In all of the commotion, I MISSED that the Halloween count is now down into the 150's. That too is a big deal. My thoughts this morning are really about how just in the next month, how very different these counts will all look!

Last night it got down to the low 40's! Getting up this morning and letting the dogs out, I felt EXACTLY like waking up on a Fall Morning and I smiled to myself. There won't be too many more mornings like this soon. So it's best to enjoy as many of these as we have left!

Have a great day, friends!

Those countdown numbers are starting to look spooky!

Has anyone else realized what 20 weeks from today is?

I always love Friday the 13ths. I remember lamenting back in January on this thread, I believe, that I felt like having Friday the 13th in October was sort of a "wasted" one, since it was already in peak spooky season and Jason movies were already playing on rotation.

I always prefer the "regular" Friday the 13ths because it feels like an extra, almost "bonus" Jack O Lantern Day when I can watch Jason that day.

But I'm not complaining - Next year the Friday the 13ths are in September, and December. The December one will probably not be "observed" by me because it is in Christmas Season. Or maybe I will. But get this, in 2026, there are THREE Friday the 13th's!! February, March, and November.

Have a great day!

I have been saying this for years now, but darn it, THIS is the year that I finally get those Peanuts yard standees! It's summer so it's time to start looking!
I do hope you find some and share the pictures here! I haven't decided if I am going to try make any more Christmas trees to add to my Peanuts Christmas tree lot or not. My skills are no where near good enough to make cutouts of the characters but I do keep an eye out for them.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I'm standing here looking at "The Road" which is now in my opinion "open". This is what starts our final approach being back to The Bers. We are a week away from seeing the 150 Days to Halloween marker. Good things are happening all around.

It's Dark Arts Sunday tomorrow for me - I'll be watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!

And also a reminder that we have JOL Day #4 barreling towards us on Wednesday!

Have a great day!

Morning Halloween Fans! Well it's a big holiday weekend here. And I know all of you are hoping to enjoy this long weekend. I wish Halloween was a long weekend every year like Memorial Day Weekend is. But we get a whole 6 weeks really! Have a great day!

I agree, I think of Memorial Day as the start of summer which means Fall is so close! By the end of the June of will be ready for Christmas in July, and then once August hits, my mind goes directly towards Halloween. That is not far away at all. Here in the near future I will start thinking about different things we can do in the yard for Halloween decor.

I totally agree! I hate that Halloween just "happens" and there is no long weekend, no day off of school, nothing.

During some conversations with some friends, a couple of movies came up: The Dead Don't Die, and Night of the Comet. I really like both movies, and I was surprised that my friend had not seen either of them. He normally has seen about anything I bring up, but oddly not these. Night of the Comet is such a low budget 80s movie, but still good in my opinion. the Dead Don't Die is a good, funny zombie movie with a great cast. Thoughts on either movie?

Good morning and happy Memorial Day weekend! Today I am planting the first pumpkin seeds of the season and definitely feel like today is the unofficial start of summer. I know that JOL Day isn't until Weds but I am feeling BIG Halloween feels today!

First of all, it's great to see you back, ITP. We missed you around here.

Second, I'm sad to say that I haven't seen either movie, despite being a "child of the 80s." But now my interest is piqued. Which one do you recommend more for a first viewing?

Thanks, it is nice to have the time to be able to read posts and enjoy the community here.

I would watch Night of the Comet. It is truly an 80s sci fi/ horror film. Zombies a plenty, plenty of 80s silliness/charm. It did not do well when it came out but has quite the cult following now. I met the two lead actresses (Kelli Maroney and Catherine Mary Stewart) a couple of years ago at a comic con. Robert Beltran and Geoffrey Lewis are also in the movie.

The Dead Don't Die came out just a couple of years ago. It is Bill Murray and Adam Driver. Several other folks have minor roles: Selena Gomez, Danny Glover, Iggy Pop to name just a few.

Good morning all!

I have watched Night of the Comet multiple times and try to do so each Halloween season. Never seen The Dead Don't Die so can't comment on that one.
