Halloween 2024 Countdown!

Good evening Halloween Friends!
Just got back from a quick trip to Lowes. I was greeted by 4 large Halloween animatronics! There was a 12ft scarecrow, a 12 ft zombie looking thing, a ghostly sea captain at the wheel, and a diver with a skeleton face. They were all pretty cool. My wife really liked the scarecrow.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's great being able to wake up and get online first thing in the morning as my "normal" routine.
It's a late July weekend now and I feel like Fall Pre-Season is stretching its arms out to me to welcome me home soon. I played some EA College Football 25' yesterday and there were lots of feels. 12 days from today we will see the first NFL Football game back on our TV screens!
And in exactly ONE WEEK from today, we will see the 50 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON milestone day arrive. Now just three days away from the very last triple digit milestone in this thread, that being 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN, that will be here on Tuesday. I've tried my best to keep that count as far ahead as possible!
I'm hoping to see some more code orange today as we go about our travels and errands. No more mowing, we are probably done mowing for the year because of the dry period, if the grass comes back, it probably won't be until late Fall when we may mow some weeds, shaggy areas, etc...

Wow July is cruising along. Just about week and half left of the month.
The weather was so nice last night. We had a nice fire and sat outside until about 11:30. We talked quite a bit about Halloween and our Halloween party.
High School football season is also coming quickly. Players will be in pads the last week of July and full contact practices start on August 1.

Can confirm that Walmart and Dollar General have started putting out Halloween candy now. Walmart has candy corn and mellocreme pumpkins. Dollar General also has candy corn and lots of other things. I picked up a bag of candy corn and some Werther's pumpkin spice caramels.
I was at a Dollar General yesterday and the shelves were empty and just waiting for the Halloween Candy!
It won't be too long now! We have three Dollar General stores in our town, but only one of them had the candy on shelves so far. I'm expecting the other two locations to follow suit this week.
The wolfman is large and in charge at Costco!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Another Sunday is here and it's a nice day to relax and enjoy the cooler weather - It's only 64 degrees outside right now and only getting up to 85. No day over the next 10 days gets out of the 80's, which means right now we should be starting Fall preseason with statistically "normal" temps for us here. It was a hot June, and a hot July, and now it looks like, mercifully, there will be more "normal" weather going on in August as we begin the slide down to Autumn.
Single digits beginning tomorrow on our JOL Day count, we will hit the 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone on Tuesday, and also that day enter into single digits on the way to Fall Pre-Season. Things are starting to get serious in here now!

Good morning Halloween fans!
My pie pumpkins and jackolantern pumpkin plants are all growing. However, my giant pumpkin plants were all killed by bugs very quickly. So last night I planted new ones. We also bought some stuff to hopefully keep the bugs away. The weeds certainly got out of control too so after cleaning the garden beds up, we put some Preen down to hopefully help keep the weeds under control.
We went grocery shopping this morning and I was hoping to see some Halloween candy out, but so far nothing. No Fall coffees either. Hopefully I will see all of it in just a couple of weeks!

Tomorrow is a big day in here because not only is it 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN, but it will be the last time in this current countdown that we see a triple digit count. They won't be back until we launch the Halloween 2025 countdown late Halloween night!

My plants aren't look so good, much smaller than last year at this time. The blossoms are lovely to look at and they provide plenty of greenery so I am still enjoying them but I think I will need to buy my pumpkins again this year.

I have plenty of blossoms too, but so far no baby pumpkins.
