Good Morning Halloween Friends! We are pulling out of the big freeze now. We are above freezing now for the rest of the week, with "normal" winter temperatures at night. I'm so relieved. Our pump house didn't freeze, and we never lost water. There were some people posting online nearby that they had frozen pipes and different things going on. I'm not sure what their setups were but I learned my lesson way back in 2013, the first year we moved in this house, and I was lucky.
You can see on the counts above we are now over ONE DAY away from JOL Day #1. Today is also Tom Turkey Day. We will finish out this week with the 250 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone TOMORROW, with Rudolph Day #1 on Saturday, and the first edition of Dark Arts Sunday on Sunday! What a dose of feels!
Today at 8:00 is Holly's complete anatomy scan and we also find out the gender. I humbly ask for everyone who reads this to consider saying prayers for us, or if you are not religious, simply some hopes and well wishes would do. Both of us didn't sleep much last night and we don't feel very good this morning.

Evening Halloween Fans! I hope you had a good day. It was warmer today! Well it didn't get to freezing even but still compared to what it's been it felt decent with the sun out. There is still plenty of snow on the ground though. Not when Halloween Season is here though. Happy Halloween!

The big freeze is now totally over here and we get close to 40 degrees today. We have some really nice days on Saturday and Sunday. Still pretty encouraging weather on the long-range as we head into February. Seeing 40's and 50's on the outlook sure makes me think of The Bers, and Hoodie Weather, a major staple of October.
I hope that everyone has a great Friday! Think some Halloween thoughts on this milestone day!

If I get enough snow melted outside, I may be able to put away some of the Christmas lights and cords. We will see. It might be a project for tomorrow if it is too wet today!
On the Halloween counts, you can see we are under a week to go now on JOL Day #1! And it's Rudolph Day #1! Tomorrow will be my very first trip back to Hogwarts in 2025 as I kick of Dark Arts Sunday.
We will see the end of January this week. The longest, darkest, and coldest winter month is nearly completed.

Finally! I don’t mean to rush time, but January has just been crawling by so slowly.
January and July are the 2 slowest months of the year (I think)!
I came across my waffle iron that makes the pumpkin shaped waffles and I am thinking I may need to keep it out for the next JOL Day!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! You can see from the first picture above, Halloween is on the brain today and firmly in our sights. It's our first edition of Dark Arts Sunday of 2025!
And Jack O Lantern Day #1 is just a week away! But before we get there, we get to celebrate being ONE QUARTER of the way back to Halloween on Wednesday!
One of my "scariest" counts might be "Days to Baby #2", which will enter double digits next month! And that count might even be shortened a little more on our next appointment as they start dialing in the actual delivery day!

Happy Monday, Halloween Friends! At long last we can see the finish line to January. What a long, dark, and brutally cold month it has been!
JOL Day #1 lies just 4 days ahead of us, and before we get there, we will celebrate our next milestone, which is being ONE QUARTER OF THE WAY back to Halloween 2025! That is coming our way on January 30th!
May this week go by fairly and not "drag" - all of us want to begin thinking about warmer / nicer weather, and it seems like February is going to deliver that!

Folks, as we slowly encroach on Spooky Spring and Halfoween, Halloween announcements are inevitable. Well, here’s the first of them: Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights are beginning on August 29th this year:
For anyone unfamiliar with Halloween Horror Nights, it’s essentially a “grown-up” version of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, except it takes place at Universal instead of Disney World, and people really do go all-out for it. Not something you should bring your children to, based on what I’ve read.
I know announcements like this one don’t apply to 99% of the regulars in this thread, but they’re fun to see, regardless, because it means that somewhere, someone is planning for Halloween.
