Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's finally Thursday - later this afternoon those "weekend vibes" will roll in as Friday approaches. It's a good feeling and one I look forward to every week.

Today marks three weeks to the day - we will be heading to the hospital. My immediate short-term goal of Memorial Day weekend draws ever closer. I view next week as my "last" normal week. The week after leads into Memorial Day Weekend, THE ROAD opens, and then my "road" opens right after. So it's winding down but I still have a little bit to go.

Still 16 days out from seeing the 100 day milestone to THE BERS, so sort of quiet in here now until then. I always say every year that Memorial Day weekend is one of the biggest turning points in the year, maybe the biggest, in terms of what it means to The Bers and Fall/October in general.

Have a great day!

Evening Halloween Fans! I hope all is well with you. I'm gearing up for a 3-day weekend. Just realized this weekend is my 13 year anniversary at this job. Pretty crazy as I never ever thought I'd be here this long. But it's worked out for a long time for me. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday! Do you see those "weeks" counts? Finally reflecting being under halfway to Halloween. Two weeks from today we will be standing on the doorstep to Memorial Day weekend, and I will be making final preparations before heading out to the hospital mid-week. This week felt like it dragged a little bit. I got a full, long Spooky Spring. I'm okay now if May wants to pick up the pace a little bit.

Still "fairly full" counts on Days to October and Days to Halloween. We will try to keep those out in front of us as long as possible!

Have a great Friday! Think some Halloween thoughts!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I can finally say that we are two weeks to go until Memorial Day weekend and THE ROAD opens up for us. It's more important than ever this year. Everybody knows my reason why.

We can look at the counts above and see that we are just Three weeks away from JOL Day #4. My JOL Day #4 will be spent in the hospital unless somehow we are discharged before that evening, which seems pretty quick (Surgery on 29th, recovery on 30th, 31st, maybe going home TBD 6/1/25?) I try and not even "paint myself in a corner". Once I get there that day, I will obviously be living minute by minute, hour by hour.

It's only 53 degrees outside right now - I'm thinking about having a fire in the pit tonight because it might be one of the last cool evenings like that before the SweatFest. We've never tried to make s'mores with Abby, she's been too little. Maybe today is the day. Plus, there will be some "fall Feels" for sure, especially if I make some hot cider!

Have a great day!

I'm so ready for spooky season.

If any Halloween fans here want to join us over in the Daily Holiday Hangout thread, Monday is when we will start voting for our favorite October moments, and the winners will be announced by Edge during the 50 Day Preview of the Bers. We're still taking nominations for October moments throughout the weekend, so hop on over a thread or two and get your submissions in!

I had to go to the Nut Garden today for a Mother's Day gift and it is down a street I only drive on when I go there. There is a house that has one of those 20 foot high skeletons up and it was tricked out as an Easter Bunny. I am going to have to make it a point to go down that street and see what they do next.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I just realized that this is the penultimate Sunday / Weekend before we go to the hospital! Holy cow. I'll really be looking at that differently come Thursday night / Friday of this week!

Nice round 20 Days until JOL Day #4. I'm still thinking about how I might spend JOL Day #4 in the hospital, rest assured I will find a way to make some Halloween feels happen. I might even resort to simple measures like just watching "Halloween II" while I'm in there. I kind of pride myself on a guy who likes ingenuity, and creative, practical solutions.

When I was in the hospital in 2022 waiting for Abby to get discharged (Holly was already cleared), it was mid October, and scary movies were on just about every channel. I was flipping through the channels and found Halloween II (the original). The moment was just TOO BIG to NOT watch Halloween II, which takes place inside a hospital. It was a cool moment for history, and maybe one that I can repeat again if I can't think of anything better.

Have a great day!

I just realized Baby #2 will get to celebrate JOL Day if on time! Maybe a pumpkin hat for just one coming home picture?!?

Happy Monday Halloween Friends! Nobody likes being back to Monday again, but we will get through it together. Hopefully this week goes by fast. I know we aren't supposed to wish time away, but I would really, really like to be in "next week" so I realize that the upcoming weekend is memorial day weekend and the very final weekend before I head to the hospital.

I noticed yesterday while scrolling that Cracker Barrel's 2025 Halloween items are now out for sale online. Not sure about if you went in person to the gift shop. One of the good times of where we are right now in the year is that more and more stuff like that will become visible over the coming weeks.

I was even at Lowes yesterday buying HVAC filters, and I sort of "scanned" the seasonal area for any signs of upcoming Fall decorations. It really won't be long now, especially once Memorial Day is in the books and we are cruising full steam ahead towards July 4th!

Have a great day, friends!

That's the great thing about Spooky Spring. Just when it's over and you start missing it, the early Halloween previews begin rolling out, and before too long you've got actual Halloween goodies on shelves. I'm glad that the gap between Spooky Spring and this Halloween doesn't seem as long and empty as the gap between Halloween and next Spooky Spring.
