DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 30

The Count Don't lie, folks. We're down to ONE countdown now for the rest of this current thread. It feels like somehow we blitzed through the previous three main counts even though September went nice and slow.

OUR month is here folks. Nothing on the horizon coming up now until Halloween itself, and the Halloweekend, which even gives us an extra hour of Halloween.

With Ocarina of Time remake coming out in just 36 days, I've been listening to the soundtrack of the OG game a lot, and how could I never notice that the Forest Temple might be another perfect "October" song. It captures the essence and spooky/mystery side of October well, i feel.

Or maybe the spooky Shadow Temple / Bottom of the well?

Either way, I'm looking forward to it just like I'm looking forward to the month of October with lots of fun activities.

I hope you are all well! OUR MONTH is here!

I’ve got the remake pre-ordered, even though I played the original approximately 568294 times. I can’t wait to play through the remake with my kids!

Hello Halloween Fans! It's here. Our month. October. Still my #1 month of the year. Lots of reasons why but Halloween is still the #1 reason. You can include Autumn in that too. So many fun things planned this month. Happy Halloween!

Ocarina of Time will always have such a special place in my heart.

I was 13 years old when OOT came out. My parents were separated when it came out and during my time of playing the game, the N64 would go with me on the weekends to where Dad lived.

So many times playing that game, it was my escape, as my family melted apart in the next room. Sometimes I wouldn't even play the game really, I would just go to different spots in the world and just listen to the music and watch the sun come up and set. Lake Hylia was one of my favorite places.

I tell you all this because I'm going to get to play this again with my daughter watching. Her home life is vastly different than mine when I was playing it for the first time. And it means so much to me to be able to give her that great, stable childhood that I never had.

I'm going to cry tears probably when her and I sit down for the first night to play it!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 29

TGIF, Pumpkin People! We're heading into the first weekend of October.

We are having another warm day today, it's getting up to 85, but let me tell you, the humidity is low and it doesn't "feel" like 85. Yesterday when it said it reached 84, it didn't feel like that at all. I do believe this could be our last warm, borderline "hot" stretch. Saturday and Sunday don't make it out of the 60's, and it's supposed to be rainy.

Everything is decorated for Halloween here. And the houses in the neighborhood too. It feels great. And I had a friend point out to me yesterday that in basically a month, we are going from this, to Christmas.

The Big 3 are upon us now. Let's make the most of this time!

Have a great day.

Love this game. It's my absolute favorite. Unfortunately the Switch 2 is out of reach for me, but maybe I'll take the original for a spin. I have the soundtrack on CD as done by a full orchestra. It's astounding.

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. It is Friday. We made it almost to the weekend. A very busy one here. The first Friday of the month is always extra busy. I hope you are all doing well today. Happy Halloween!

WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 4

Happy Saturday, Pumpkin People! It's a cool and rainy one here, I'm just watching the grass grow in the back yard and wondering if I will get a chance to mow it before it becomes a jungle again. I don't have as much time in the evenings now as that sun is setting so much earlier. I think yesterday it was dark here by 7 pm!

Folks, I am supremely happy to be here with you all in the month of October. We have waited for this month for a long time, and it is the spirit of this month that we try and keep alive all year through our Jack O Lantern Days and other special milestone days in here.

Have a great Saturday!

Good morning Halloween Fans!

Oh, the weather is so amazing right now! It is only 48 this morning and will only be in the mid 60s today.

It has been a great end of the week. My wife and I went to Cleveland on Thursday night to watch the Browns beat the Steelers. It was awesome being in the stadium for that one.

Last night we went to the Homecoming game for the high school where I teach. Our son was doing the announcing for the Homecoming Court and crowning ceremony.

Today, I will watch Notre Dame football (on tv). Tomorrow evening we are going to see Neil DeGrasse Tyson speak about physics in movies.

I am sure I will get a Halloween movie in there too.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. The Sunday Group is going apple picking for the 2nd year in a row on a Saturday. We decided last year we have too many Halloween Activities on Sundays so we moved it to Saturday. Happy Halloween!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 27

Happy Sunday Halloween Friends. It's a rainy one here. If it burns off later, after church I'm going to help my dad stack his woodpile. Then later I need to go get some more pellets. I will have one ton on the ground and hopefully my other ton before Thanksgiving. That should be all the bags I need.

It was rainy yesterday and we didn't get to have our outside fire. Maybe we do today, if the rain burns off.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning Halloween Fans!

This morning was nice and cool in the mid 40s. However, it is warming up quickly and going to be about 75 today. Looks like 70s most of the week. But the nice thing is, no 80s! Next week is looking like low 60s again.

Now that we are truly in October, my wife and I turn our attention to our Halloween Party. We are ahead of where we usually are so that is nice. Looking at the calendar, we have a number of things going on. I am hoping to also get a Halloween or Fall Festival in there somewhere, but I am not sure that is going to happen.

My main goal is just to enjoy every moment of Halloween Month!

Hello Halloween Fans! It's a fall like day here. We are heading to the city for a Halloween Show. It should be fun but you can read more about it in the new thread I'm creating today if you'd like to "The Sunday Group." Happy Halloween!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 26

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Abby's birthday week begins today. We are super excited for her birthday on Saturday. She's going to open Mario Kart World and it's going to be the first game we play together.

No day hits 80 this week, which is always the goal here in early fall.

And plus, I have a three day weekend coming up, which always puts the holiday feels in overdrive.

Friends, when we do the grocery run this week, we are going to have to buy some extra Halloween candy that I plan on keeping in the freezer to have some for 2027 Jack O Lantern Days!

Pumpkin People I hope you are all well this week! Enjoy this Autumn weather!

It is always kind of sad to see one final count remaining in this thread, but on the other hand it is the culmination of what we’ve waited for all year. Knowing the “big night” is imminent and especially what follows after the “big night” keeps me from having the same kind of bummed out feelings that I have on Christmas afternoon. Ugh, I don’t want to go there yet. Change of subject…

We’re going to a Fall Festival this year! Probably our first “real” one, although if it’s still here in Texas, does it count as a “real” one? I just hope the weather cooperates. The temps are dropping, albeit slowly, and our highs here are still in the mid-80s. I’m hoping for a cool front to push us into the 60s by the time Halloween gets here.
