Good Morning Halloween Friends! Monday is in the rear view mirror and we're moving on through this week now! I did a good job yesterday not daydreaming too much about my long weekend coming up starting on Good Friday. I'm saving thoughts like that for at least until Wednesday of this week. But folks, it's hard. Especially since this weekend is Spooky Spring kickoff weekend. It's hard to not start thinking about THIS weekend, like right now!
Looking at our counts above, we are now just one week out from JOL Day #3, better known in March as "Spooky Spring Eve". And the count that maybe surprises me the most here in late March, is looking at "Fall Preseason" and realizing that before next month is over, we will hit the 100 day milestone for that.
"Winter" weather has returned, it's 29 degrees outside and only making it to 50 degrees today. The rest of the week looks warm, but a chilly weekend is in store, we don't get out of the 50's either day. But the chilly days help it feel more like October, especially as we move into the final days here before Spooky Spring officially arrives! Have a great day!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well on this Wednesday. I almost typed the wrong day. I think that I got it right though. We have a decent day developing here as we should get to 50 degrees with partial sunshine. That's all I ask for is decent weather in early spring. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's Finally Here. Spooky Spring Kickoff Weekend. And it starts this evening. I'm excited, I remember thinking back in early January, when I was really missing Halloween season, how great it would be when Spooky Spring arrived.
Believe it or not, we are at the point in the year where we slowly start losing main counts. We're going to lose our Spooky Spring count (obviously), in less than a week, and our Halfoween count will be gone in roughly another month! Indeed, when we emerge on the other side of Spooky Spring, we will be in May and just waiting for "The Road" to open up!
But we've got a whole month of Spooky Spring to enjoy before then, and I don't want to wish any of it away. Funny enough, I'm remembering last year, and Spooky Spring was sort of my last hurrah before May came and it was baby time, again. So with none of that hanging over my head this year, Spooky Spring 2026' should be much more enjoyabale!

Welcome to Spooky Spring Kickoff Weekend! While we don't "officially" begin until 4/1, the layout on the calendar with having Dark Arts Sunday, tomorrow, and of course JOL Day #3 on Tuesday, was too great of an opportunity to delay. And of course, next Sunday is Easter, so there won't be any Halloween activity by yours truly until after Easter is observed that day.
Our next milestone will be on Wednesday when we hit April 1st, and you can see from the counts above that we are now just ONE WEEK from hitting the 150 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone. Folks that one honestly is a little spooky to me.
I love how the energy feels right now. Last night turned chilly, and maybe it was just because of what I knew was coming, but I could feel energy in the air and feel like a change was underway.

Happy Saturday! I was moving things around in a closet this morning and I came across a bag of Halloween stuff that I have been shifting around since October. It is stuff that was meant for the Great Pumpkin Egg Hunt that didn't happen. It has made me sad every time I have moved it, until today, today I thought it would be fun in the next week (while watching Halloween movies) to fill some eggs and organize the other stuff into bags for this year and hope for the best!

Today is March wrap up. Folks, I feel like the month of hope delivered. For the most part, March brough us our Spring weather and not too-many days that felt like winter. We are still battling some frozen nights, but that is the case with March most of the time. All of this week stays in the 70's and 80's here, so I am pretty optimistic that April is going to stay warm "for good".
And we crushed some milestones too! We're going to lose TWO main counts here in the next 30 days. That's big time. And we will see 150 DAYS TO THE BERS, this coming Saturday!

Hello Halloween Fans! It's been a cold weekend so far. Everyone is tired of it but it's going to warm up today to about average which is low 50s. With the sun out I'll take that any day after the winter we've had. March is Marching Along. It's been such a transition month with the weather. Happy Halloween!
March was good to me this year. A day and a half of blizzard conditions and some allergies/sinuses were the only negatives, and NO doldrums!!! So overall I can't complain. I got some work done on projects around the house and am feeling good about the long weekend coming up and Easter!

The April preview for today is a pretty simple one: SPOOKY SPRING.
Nuff said? Everyone knows what Spooky Spring brings to the table! And obviously we will see both the halfway to October and Halfway to Halloween milestones in April. But don't sleep on the fact that we will also see 100 DAYS TO FALL PRESEASON, and 150 DAYS TO THE BERS!
Personally I think that the 100 Days to Fall Preseason might be the biggest milestone outside of obviously reaching halfway to October / Halfway to Halloween.

I’m so excited for April. March has been mostly a bust for me, so I’m glad to finally move on to Spooky Spring. The party starts for me tomorrow with JOL Day!
I’ve been thinking about what I could do this year for my Spooky Spring theme, and I think I’ve settled on an answer: Alfred Hitchcock. I’ll admit that I have never seen an Alfred Hitchcock film, and all of my knowledge of them is secondhand, even The Birds. So I thought that for this month I would finally sit down and experience them firsthand. Any recommendations are welcomed!
Before that, though, I think I’m going to take the rest of this week (Wednesday - Sunday) and devote that to Easter. It feels kind of wrong to delve into psychological horror before I celebrate the resurrection of my Savior. That's a sentence I never thought I’d type.

I have an interesting situation going into this Spring; I am coaching Spring football. So, Spooky Spring gets an extra layer of that Fall feeling for me! I am exciting about this for a couple of reasons. First, the obvious, Spooky Spring will feel a little more like the Halloween season. Also, there is a good chance I will not coach football in the Fall this year, so I will have more time to enjoy the actual Halloween Season. I see this all as wins!
