Good evening Halloween Fans!

The weather...the weather!!! The temperature dropped like a rock and it feels amazing today! It is currently only 60 degrees! It has been a little rainy today, but that just adds to the Fall feels! So wonderful outside! I will take the light rain in order to have these temperatures. Tomorrow is going to be another nice cool day. We might even be having some nights in the 40s! I am excited to open the house up a little bit and let the cool air in.

Farewell Summer and Hello Spooky Season, aka Fall.

The high is 62 degrees today, a perfect "welcome to Fall" statement. It's been rainy here the past few days and will be rainy all week.

We're in single digits now until October, and tomorrow will mark only ONE WEEK until the very FINAL JOL Day of 2026. The Halloween Countdown has now entered into the 30's !!!

Later days, summer! Official fall finally here. Looking at a cool 48 degrees outside right now. So great! Hope everyone has a great day.

Also, if my math is correct, today is the day you can watch one Simpsons Treehouse/Halloween themed episode every day leading up to Halloween. That doesn't count this year's episodes. Enjoy!

The Addams Family movie is on our must-watch list each year. We've already watched Hocus Pocus once this year, but not that one. The stack of Halloween DVDs will be pulled out soon.

Fall is officially rolling in within minutes.



Our time is finally here at long last. Tonight just felt so different. I really think I could FEEL the transition happening.

A cool day, only got to 62 degrees, and rain all day and rain tonight overnight. The house here almost feels chilly. It's amazing.

You can see on the counts above that things are looking mighty skinny. We are going to lose TWO counts in roughly a week. Our only remaining count will be our "Days to Halloween" Count.

It feels like to me, they melted away all at once. Even though it feels like September just started, sometimes I have to remind myself that October is next week!

I also got a kick out of John Astin in "Night Court," playing Harry's crazy father ... "But I'm feeling much better now!" He had this crazy gleam in his eye, same as when he played Gomez. Mr. showed me some episodes of his pre-"Addams Family" series, "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster."

I remember "The Munsters" and I liked it when I was a kid, but as an adult, I have a deeper appreciation of "The Addams Family." I've been reading a book about "The Addams Family," and it has some great photos and behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

(Almost forgot our family connection to the Addams Family---Mr.'s grandfather was related to Blossom Rock, who played Grandmama.)

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. It's a cooler day here. Temperatures this morning were in the low 50s and even a few high 40s around my area I believe. But it didn't feel cold. It just felt like autumn to me. Happy Halloween!

(Almost forgot our family connection to the Addams Family---Mr.'s grandfather was related to Blossom Rock, who played Grandmama.)

This just made something click in my mind that I never clicked before. When my kids were born, my mom had them call her Grandmama. I never connected it to the Addams Family until now.

Another interesting note is that my mom's sister (my aunt) married an Adams. Then when my cousin (my aunt's oldest son) got married, his MIL started calling him Gomez and his wife Morticia. (Still never connected the Grandmama to the Addams Family.)

I am running out of countdowns!

It's 47 degrees outside, and the house feels chilly. I think if it would have been just a couple of degrees colder overnight, we might have had to run the pellet stove for a few hours. It came up in my facebook memories that on this day in 2014, it got down to 37 degrees overnight!

I saw this and literally panicked thinking that I had missed the final JOL Day of 2026. Then I actually read it closely. It’s still a week away. Whew! I was scared I missed out!

I am so very jealous of your weather. Tomorrow *should* mark the arrival of a small cool front here, bringing our lows to the mid-60s and finally getting our highs out of the 90s. I have eagerly been anticipating it since the Bers kicked off.

One day I’m going to move north. One day, I tell you!

Mr. showed me some episodes of his pre-"Addams Family" series, "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster."

I'm old enough to remember when this show originally aired. Fenster was played by Marty Ingels, later better known for being married to the lovely Shirley Jones.
