Happy August Teens! We have arrived at another Friday folks here in the summer time. It's even a Friday the 13th today. But this is not the Halloween thread (although that thread is awesome too). Let's look above at our countdowns. We have 104 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 80 days to go until November, and 19 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone is on Tuesday when we reach the 100 Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. That will seem amazing as we then go into only DOUBLE DIGITS countdowns here in this thread. That's pretty amazing. I can't wait for that one but I actually can wait. It's Friday and then the weekend will be here so we need to enjoy these things first. Thanks for everyone answering the poll yesterday. It's never easy to pick one side really from all the sides that exist on Thanksgiving. They really do make the meal better don't they? They aren't the turkey but they make the turkey better. I think that's the best way to put it. Anyway, I know everyone wants to get to their Friday and then their weekend. So enjoy today. Happy Summer Saturday! We move along here folks into the weekend. And you can see our 3 countdowns above look as follows: 103 days till Thanksgiving, 79 days till November, and 18 days till The Bers. Our next milestone is on Tuesday when we will reach the all-important 100 Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. That is only 3 days away now folks. But we need to enjoy our weekend first. And those counts certainly all look good on this Saturday. You notice The Bers count is moving along now through the teens. That’s a little scary if you ask me. But the good news is for all turkey fans we still have 100+ days to go until Thanksgiving so tons of time to enjoy the ride. And that ride, of course, really all starts with The Bers. But our ride began at page 1 of this thread last year on the day after Thanksgiving. And here we have come so far now into almost the middle of the month of August. I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your weekend. Have a great Summer Saturday!

Isn't it funny how we come here so often...almost daily....and those numbers still surprise us? I laugh at myself...but it happens often.Only 4 days until double digits?!

So true. I really do take the countdowns for granted. I look at the numbers every day, but somehow I'm still shocked when we hit a milestone.
And what a ride it has been! Back in February and March...and April...and May...and June...when I was complaining about how much longer we had to go, I never thought we'd reach this point where we'd be 18 days away from the Bers and Thanksgiving was encroaching upon us quickly. But here we are. Next year I really am going to attempt to slow down and enjoy "the ride" more. Someone mark that down as my New Year's Resolution.

I was thinking the same thing, I was only away for 3 days and I was startled by the counts!
I remember back in April and May, the pull on me for Thanksgiving was really strong. I really think it is just because of the Pandemic and everything else, but maybe on some other level it was a growing awareness that for too many years I really overlooked Thanksgiving, in my perpetual 24/7 march towards Christmas.
It's the same reason that I hold Halloween in such high regard. Halloween AND Thanksgiving share a very, very special place at the end of the year, and in my brain at least, they are firmly part of "Christmas Season". That's why I keep up the Halloween trees along with my other ceramic trees that I set out in our great room.
And this ride has been a long one. But it has had its moments like back in May when I was really missing Thanksgiving. And that's what makes the ride special!
It does happen to us all!

Happy August Sunday! Today we move ahead into our 3 countdowns on this Sunday as we enter Part 2 of the weekend. We have 102 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 78 days to go until November, and 17 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone is on Tuesday which now happens the day after tomorrow when we reach the 100 Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. Pretty incredible if you ask me. It’s an amazing time to be here. And the excitement is only building in this thread. You can see our Bers countdown just continues to lower. I saw a turkey in our parking lot at work the last few weeks on and off. It made me think of Thanksgiving of course. This turkey seems to be hanging around a bit early but he’s a sign of things to come I suppose. Now for all of you weekend fans I hope you are ready to enjoy it and get your Sunday off to a great start today. None of you want it to end I know so get the most out of the weekend that you can today. Don’t miss it. Enjoy it. And be in the moment. That’s our goal every day but now that we approach our favorite time of the year we know that we need to do it now more than ever. Have a great August Sunday!

It happened to me just this morning! Those numbers jumped off the page at me. I figured just now we are roughly 3 months out from Thanksgiving. Holy Cow. The same thing happens with me and my countdowns as well. I see the numbers every day, but there are still "shocks" and "surprises".
