Thank you. It is like adding insult to injury because she feels so bad from the chemo. We are all so careful with all the preventive measures, but no matter how careful people are.....................................
I'm praying for her.

My SIL got Covid in August and it did permanent damage to her heart. She is 80 and already had asthma. She got it at the gym so she really wasn't being cautious but she was vaccinated and boosted. Now, I get a call a few days ago that she is in the hospital with congestive heart failure. They released her and now her daughter is here with her at least until after Thanksgiving. She'll need to be under the care of a cardiologist and pulmonologist.

To make matters worse, I visited again yesterday and noticed an apparent cognitive decline. I'm just so relieved my niece is here to help her.

My smoked turkey is arriving on Tuesday and I'll take the Chateaubriand out of the freezer tomorrow morning. It's three pounds so should be more than ready by Thursday morning.

Tomorrow I'll make an early last-minute grocery run because I only have enough food for a thousand people...LOL. I did remember there's a few things I wanted to include but it'll be a short order. I can't keep adding new things but I'll get to send everyone home with enough food for several days. I do hope this turkey arrives on time and is as good as it has been rated by other customers.

I watched A Christmas Story Christmas a couple of nights ago and it really got me in the mood for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I won't be watching news or anything negative this week, just Christmas movies and listening to music.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 3

Happy Thanksgiving Week! Today folks we have 3 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Folks – Wake up. It’s OUR WEEK. Our next milestone is Thanksgiving on Thursday. Geez our ultimate goal and destination is now 3 days away. Now you may ask since it’s Monday do we have a Weekly Countdown Till Thanksgiving Week? Here it is folks: 0…can you read that? The big goose egg. It is THANKSGIVING WEEK. The best week of the year is here folks and our countdown which started at 51 weeks has now ended. We have arrived to the most amazing week of the year. I don’t know how we did it but we did. And I’m ready for it. We continue for a few more days through our “Awesome Autumn” and it has been quite the most amazing autumn this year. And to think we’re heading rights towards the “Happy Holidays” which is our next time of year and begins on Thanksgiving Day. We’ll have a better breakdown of these time periods since we just kind of carved them out as we went along partially through this thread. You’ll see them more labeled in the new thread. But I can’t think about any new thread right now. I just want to think about today and going out to work and hopefully seeing how everyone has let the holiday season hit them. It’s OUR WEEK folks. Please enjoy every moment of it. Let it all hit you. Have a great Thanksgiving Week!

My grandfather passed from congestive heart failure and it is not an easy way to go. Prayers for her. I am always extra careful. I went to a Christmas market on Saturday and even though it was outdoors, I was afraid it would crowded so I kept my mask on and avoided the crowded areas. There are so many variants out there that I really don't want to risk her catching another variety.

I'm right there with you on taking extra precautions. My Dad died from COPD and it was horrible. My mother and I were his caregivers and it was a very long illness and brutal on both him and us.
How is your daughter feeling today?

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 2

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Eve! Today folks we have 2 days remaining until Thanksgiving. LOL. Sorry I had to laugh. There is nothing else to do at this point but it seriously hit me bad last weekend. And it carried right through Monday. And I’m seriously so excited about what’s coming folks. And that would be our FINAL MILESTONE in this thread and that will be our ULTIMATE DESTINATION and the one day this thread revolves around (Thanksgiving in case you couldn’t have guessed). It will be here the day after tomorrow (or Thursday/Thanksgiving). And folks we move along through the remaining couple of days of our “Awesome Autumn.” I’ve had so much fun this Autumn yet somehow it’s getting even better now building towards Thanksgiving. And yet we still have the holiday season ahead of us too. Maybe this is why we love this time of year so much. Maybe this is why The Bers is so important to us. And The Bers will be part of our 3 countdowns in the new thread. I haven’t done anything with next year’s thread and won’t for another 24-36 hours. Right now I’m dreaming of turkey, stuffing and gravy. What about the biscuits and sweet potatoes? The parade? The NFL football games? And more. Get ready turkey fans because we’re running out of time. Get yourself all set for the big time feast. The best day of the year. Have a great Thanksgiving Eve Eve!

Guys, I got out the turkey roasting pan last night, and it was just so magical! It's the little things like that I think that make each Holiday season special.

I want to try and be appreciative and acknowledge all of these "little things" that make the seasons special.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Eve!
