Thanksgiving 2023 Thread

Our governor sent out a proclamation making this a state day of prayer and thanksgiving. We have had several prayer and fast days since he was elected governor when he has asked people to petition heaven for rain. We are not completely in the clear but no areas of our state are in severe drought after our heavy snows this winter. It is good to have a day of Thankfulness.

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 121
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 60

Happy 4th Of July Eve! Today folks we have 143 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 121 days to go until November, and 60 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in 10 days. Can you guess what that day is? It will be the 50-Day Marker till The Bers. You know what that means for the Hang Out. But we’re not in the Hang Out. We’re in the Thanksgiving Thread. And we move along in our Summer Sweatfest on the eve of the biggest holiday of the summer, to most people. BBQ’s, fireworks, beaches, hot dog eating contests and on and on will be taking place in the next 24 hours. My favorite Non-Bers day of the year. It’s all coming. But right now it’s Monday and we need to do our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving which is at 20 weeks. Folks – 20. Wow. Such a big turning point in the count and the year right now as we truly are entering the heart and hardcore summer. Turkey fans I hope you’re all enjoying your Monday whether you are working or playing (or maybe both like I do at work). And I hope you are all ready for your big BBQ tomorrow if you are having one. And focused on that BBQ like you are focused on a turkey on Thanksgiving. It truly is a special meal. Right now let’s all enjoy the day before it though here on the 3rd of July. Wow! 20 weeks. The next 25 weeks is going to be so awesome.
 
20 weeks!?! I need to take a serious look at my Grand Holiday Cleaning/Prep Plan and start thinking about what needs to be done and when! The holidays give me the extra motivation I need to do some of the chores I dislike most!

Happy 4th Of July! Today folks we have 142 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 120 days left until November, and 59 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be the big one folks. The one that will bring in the 50-Day Preview of The Bers. It will be the 50-Day Marker till The Bers. It will happen in 9 days. Amazing. We continue into the heart of our Summer Sweatfest. Actually we still have more days in front of us for the Sweatfest than behind us. We started a little early on May 24th. And have more than 50% of it to go. Well it has been sweaty lately more due to the humidity than the heat. But my a/c is keeping me comfortable and I appreciate it. And other than that today is the 4th (a Tuesday this year not my favorite) but a special day and we will all bring in some pictures today of turkey and anything Thanksgiving related. And in the spirit of what today is you can throw in a 4th of July picture too. Why not? I really do love this day folks and what it represents in so many ways. I hope all of you enjoy it and if you are having a BBQ throw a turkey on it and make it crispy for us. Turkey I think about all days of the year including the 4th of July. It’s awesome all the time to think about. Have a great 4th Of July!​
 
I was able to get a few minutes of Thanksgiving thoughts yesterday. I've been watching the new walking dead spinoff show "Dead City" with Negan and Maggie in it. They are in New York City now and during the episode I watched yesterday, the people in NYC are using a vehicle leftover from the Macy's Parade to drive around and attract walkers. It had a giant turkey on top of it that moved it's wings! Gobble Gobble!
