Good thing I just installed a new garbage disposal last month.

Being a large manchild, I think the thing that I miss the most is getting the Toys R Us catalog in the mail and being able to drop in there during the holiday season. That was a huge part of my childhood, and my oldest daughter got to experience Toys R Us for at least 8 years of her life before it went to the retail graveyard. My youngest will never get to experience the joy of a Toys R Us store, and that makes me sad.I can definitely see that. On a side note, I kind of feel a little sad that "Black Friday" used to be such a big deal, now it is basically just another day on the calendar, except to those of us who remember "the good old days". As the retail apocalypse continues, I wonder If I will live to see the day where individual stores for the most part are no longer a thing. Sure, there will be hardware stores and car parts stores and stuff, but it seems like clothing stores and some of your small niche' shops continue closing down at an alarming rate!
Have a FABULOUS FRIDAY! We're at the doorstep of another beautiful October weekend!
Wow!Happy Friday!
I got a Target Christmas catalog yesterday in the mail!!
Because there's too much awesome stuff during The Bers!Boy, we are just about a month out to Thanksgiving. The Bers do come at you fast unfortunately. But at least for about another week, we still have all of the Big 3 still in front of us.
It's easy for me to be patient because I love October so much...but I know where we are heading soon!I'm trying to be patient, but I think my inner turkey wishbone is starting to flutter. We are so close to November.
Eight weeks of Halloween Season Activities sounds great and I really like the idea of extending them into November. Some years I have a short period of the doldrums in early November and with Thanksgiving being so late this year I am a bit apprehensive. I have my great-nephew's 6th birthday party on November 2nd so I won't take my Halloween decorations down until the 3rd, and I only have a few Thanksgiving specific things to add. The time change will be a fun boost next weekend too but after that I think I may need some Thanksgiving Season Activities. Any ideas? Maybe I can find a de-cluttering challenge or a walking/steps challenge for the month? Coming here daily is already on my list and the most important!DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 32
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 5
Happy Halloweekend Part 2! Today folks we move along and see that we have 32 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 5 days to go until November. Our next milestone will arrive on Friday when we reach the Arrival of November. It will be huge. It will be gigantic. It will be awesome. We move along in our Awesome Autumn friends on this Quiet Weekend Period Part 2 feeling good. I’m going to Pure Terror Scream Park tonight for my final Halloween Season activity. We used to do 4 weeks in a row of it. Then we increased it to 5 and now we’ve moved it to 6 (by finding activities that start in the 2nd half of September). We’ve already decided next year we’re extending it to at least 7 (and maybe even crazy 8) by extending it through the first part of November. The Halloween Lights goes through Mid-November so we can easily push that back into November and with Halloween being a Friday next year I’m pretty sure that first weekend of November will have a lot of Halloween activities going still. Now that I gave you my Fall 2025 plan maybe you can reel me back into Fall 2024 with a lot of things in front of us turkey friends. Our time in this thread is coming sooner than you think. All the Halloween talk of October leads us to all the Turkey talk of November. Have a great Halloweekend Part 2!
The early part of November is always weird to me. Like I'm missing Halloween Season...as much as i love Christmas Season I just can't flick on that switch on November 1. Plus my mind doesn't want to overlook Thanksgiving (hence why I made this thread)...so it's a weird spot for me when all 3 seasons kind of intertwine. How about a turkey trot?!Eight weeks of Halloween Season Activities sounds great and I really like the idea of extending them into November. The term "manchild" gave me a chuckle!Being a large manchild, I think the thing that I miss the most is getting the Toys R Us catalog in the mail and being able to drop in there during the holiday season. I know that Amazon sends out a toy catalog every year now, but it’s just not the same.
Maybe I'm just dumb, but what is a turkey trot? I've heard the term my whole life, but never really thought about what it is. Perhaps I should just google it. Anyways, when I was a kid, I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. When Thanksgiving would roll around, my mama would always ask me to do my little dance that I called a turkey trot. It was super embarrassing when she would holler for everybody to watch! The early part of November is always weird to me. Are you still working on your app menu--that could be something to avoid the doldrums. Especially if you are making new things and want to try them out in advance.Eight weeks of Halloween Season Activities sounds great and I really like the idea of extending them into November. I bet this year will be extra special because of that.I'm prepared. I don't quite have all the ingredients, but I'm waiting to see how many will be here. The number keeps changing. Well, it'll just mean I have more or less leftovers.
I hope hurricane season is over. There are a couple of suspicious things out there. My prayer is that they don't hit land anywhere.
It feels like I'm working on Thanksgiving and Christmas at the same time because Thanksgiving was so late. Last year my Christmas was a bust because I fell. It was the day after I put up the decorations, but I was mostly in bed for a month. No broken bones but it sure felt like it.
I have never done one and I doubt that I could ever run one but I like the idea of doing something so physical to start the day, but don't know about missing out on my kitchen time and pie baking! I would like to be more active throughout all of November, more steps, more outdoor time so that is a great suggestion. The early part of November is always weird to me. That sounds terrible, I am sorry your Christmas season was marred by your fall. I was sick two of the past Novembers, not COVID, not strep, not RSV either time but I was in bed a lot, no pain but miserable with cough, congestion, and sore throat.I'm prepared. I don't quite have all the ingredients, but I'm waiting to see how many will be here. The number keeps changing. Well, it'll just mean I have more or less leftovers.

I can not speak for all regions but around here it is a 5K or 3 mile run on Thanksgiving morning. The closest one to me is about 40 minutes away and starts at 9:00. In my 20s, when I was most likely to have been able to run and many of my friends participated in it I was already helping host Thanksgiving and I never wanted to be away from the oven that long. Later, of course there were years with 2 Thanksgivings to attend and that is probably when I needed the physical exercise the most! I don't think I would ever join a formal one, but I am sure one of my sisters or nieces would oblige me in a long walk in the early a.m.Maybe I'm just dumb, but what is a turkey trot?
